Driving your vehicle with the warninglamp on is dangerous. A significantdecrease in braking performancemay occur. It will take you longer to stopyour vehicle. Have your vehicle checked byan authorized dealer immediately. Drivingextended distances with the parking brakeengaged can cause brake failure and therisk of personal injury.
Cruise Control Indicator
It will illuminate when you switchthis feature on. See UsingCruise Control (page 181).
Decklid Ajar Indicator
It will illuminate when theignition is on and the decklid isnot completely closed.
Direction Indicator
Illuminates when the left or rightdirection indicator or the hazardwarning flasher is turned on. Ifthe indicators stay on or flash faster, checkfor a burnt out bulb. See Changing a Bulb(page 252).
Door Ajar Indicator
It will illuminate when theignition is on and any door is notcompletely closed.
Electric Park Brake Warning Lamp
It will illuminate when theelectric parking brake has amalfunction.
Engine Coolant TemperatureWarning Lamp
It will illuminate when the engineor motor coolant temperature ishigh. Stop your vehicle as soonas possible and contact your authorizeddealer.
Engine Oil Warning Lamp
WARNING
If it illuminates when you are drivingdo not continue your journey, even ifthe oil level is correct. Have yourvehicle checked.
If it illuminates with the enginerunning or when you are driving,this indicates a malfunction.Stop your vehicle as soon as it is safe todo so and switch the engine off. Check theengine oil level. See Engine Oil Check(page 246).
Fasten Safety Belt Warning Lamp
It will illuminate and a chime willsound to remind you to fastenyour safety belt. See SafetyBelt Minder (page 26).
Front Airbag Warning Lamp
If the warning lamp does notilluminate during start up,remains on or flashes, thesystem may be disabled.
Have your vehicle checked by anauthorized dealer.
Front Fog Lamps Indicator
It will illuminate when you switchthe front fog lamps on.

Even if the temperature rises toabove 39°F (4°C) there is noguarantee that the road is free ofhazards caused by inclement weather.
It will illuminate when theoutside air temperature is 39°F(4°C) or below.
Fuel Operated Heater EnabledIndicator
It will illuminate when you switchthe fuel operated heater on.
Fuel Operated Heater OperatingIndicator
It will illuminate to inform youthe fuel operated heater iscurrently in operation.
Glow Plug Indicator
With the key in the on position,illuminates when the glow plugheat is necessary as a startingaid. Wait until the light goes off beforestarting.
After you start the engine, the light shouldturn off. When the engine is cold, the lightshould always illuminate for a short period.
Heads Up Display (If Equipped)
A red beam of lights willilluminate on the windshield incertain instances when usingadaptive cruise control or the pre-collisionwarning system. It will also lightmomentarily when you start your vehicleto make sure the display works.
High Beam Indicator
It will illuminate when you switchthe high beam headlamps on. Itwill flash when you use theheadlamp flasher.
Hood Ajar Warning Lamp
It will illuminate when theignition is on and the hood is notcompletely closed.
Lane Keeping Aid Indicator
It will illuminate when youactivate the lane keepingsystem.
Liftgate Ajar Warning Lamp
It will illuminate when theliftgate is not completely closed.
Low Beam Malfunction WarningLamp
It will illuminate when there is amalfunction with the low beamheadlamp bulb.
Low Fuel Level Warning Lamp
If it illuminates when you aredriving, refuel as soon aspossible.
Low Tire Pressure Warning Lamp
It will illuminate when your tirepressure is low. If the lampremains on with the enginerunning or when driving, checkyour tire pressure as soon as possible.

Cruise control lets you maintain a setspeed without keeping your foot on theaccelerator pedal. You can use cruisecontrol when your vehicle speed is greaterthan 20 mph (30 km/h).
USING CRUISE CONTROL
WARNINGS
Do not use cruise control on windingroads, in heavy traffic or, when theroad surface is slippery. This couldresult in loss of vehicle control, seriousinjury or death.
When you are going downhill, yourvehicle speed may increase abovethe set speed. The system will notapply the brakes but a warning displays.
The cruise controls are on the steeringwheel.
Switching Cruise Control On
Press and release ON.
The indicator appears in theinstrument cluster.
Setting the Cruise Speed
1.Drive to desired speed.
2.Press and release SET+.
3.Take your foot off the acceleratorpedal.
Note:The indicator will change color.
Note:Cruise control will disengage if thevehicle speed decreases more than 10 mph(16 km/h) below the set speed while drivinguphill.
Changing the Set Speed
•Press the accelerator or brake pedaluntil you reach the desired speed. Pressand release SET+.
•Press and hold SET+ or SET-. Releasethe control when you reach the desiredspeed.
•Press and release SET+ or SET-. Theset speed will change in approximately3 mph (5 km/h) increments.
Note:If you accelerate by pressing theaccelerator pedal, the set speed will notchange. When you release the acceleratorpedal, your vehicle returns to the speed thatyou previously set.
Canceling the Set Speed
Press and release CAN or tap the brakepedal. You will not erase the set speed.
Resuming the Set Speed
Press and release RES.
Switching Cruise Control Off
Press and release OFF when the systemis in stand by mode or switch the ignitionoff.
Note:You will erase the set speed if youswitch the system off.

CONTROL (If Equipped)
WARNINGS
Always pay close attention tochanging road conditions, especiallywhen using adaptive cruise control.Adaptive cruise control cannot replaceattentive driving. Failing to follow any ofthe warnings below or failing to payattention to the road may result in a crash,serious injury or death.
The system is not a crash warning oravoidance system. You mustintervene if the system does notdetect a vehicle in front of you.
Adaptive cruise control does notdetect stationary or slow movingvehicles below 6 mph (10 km/h).
The system does not brake for slowor stationary vehicles, pedestrians,objects in the road, oncoming andcrossing vehicles.
Do not use the system when enteringor leaving a freeway.
Do not use adaptive cruise controlon winding roads, in heavy traffic orwhen the road surface is slippery.This could result in loss of vehicle control,serious injury or death.
Do not use the system in poorvisibility, specifically fog, heavy rain,spray or snow.
WARNINGS
Do not use the system when towinga trailer with electronic aftermarkettrailer brake controls. Electronicaftermarket trailer brakes do not functionproperly when you switch on the systembecause the brakes are electronicallycontrolled. Failing to do so may result inloss of vehicle control, which could resultin serious injury. Overrun brakes, surgebrakes and other non-electronictrailer-brake controllers are not affected.
Do not use tire sizes other than thoserecommended because this canaffect the normal operation of thesystem. Failing to do so may result in a lossof vehicle control, which could result inserious injury.
The system is designed to help youmaintain a gap from the vehicle in front ofyou. If there is no vehicle in front of you thesystem will maintain a set speed. Thesystem is intended to provide enhancedoperation of your vehicle when followingother vehicles which are in the same laneand traveling in the same direction. Youcan select from one of five gap settings.
The system is based on the use of a radarsensor which projects a beam directlyforward of your vehicle. This beam willdetect any vehicle ahead within thesystem's range.
If there is no vehicle in front of you, thesystem maintains your set speed.

Switching the System On
Press and release the Adaptive CruiseControl CAN/OFF button.
The cruise control indicator,SET mph(kph), the current gap setting indicatorand Standby displays in the instrumentcluster.
Setting a Speed
1.Drive to desired speed.
2.Press and release SET-.
3.The information display shows a greenindicator light, current gap setting anddesired set speed.
4.Take your foot off the acceleratorpedal.
5.When the system detects a vehicle infront of you, it will be displayed abovethe horizontal bars.
Note:When adaptive cruise control isactive, the set speed displayed in theinformation display may vary slightly fromthe speedometer.
Changing the Set Speed
•Press the accelerator or brake pedaluntil you reach the desired speed. Pressand release SET-.
•Press and hold RES+ or SET- until thedesired set speed shows on theinformation display. The vehicle speedwill gradually change to the selectedspeed.
•Press and release RES+ or SET-. Theset speed changes in 1 mph (1 km/h)increments.
The system may apply the brakes to slowthe vehicle to the new set speed. The setspeed displays continuously in theinformation display while the system isactive.
Canceling the Set Speed
Press the brake pedal or the clutch pedalfor an extended period, or press andrelease the Adaptive Cruise ControlCAN/OFF button. The last set speeddisplays with a strikethrough.
