12 Instruments and warning/indicator lights
The number of keys programmed to the vehi
cle is also displayed. The disp lay

cates that three keys have been programmed.
This allow s you to make sure you have re
ceived all o f the keys when you purchase a
used vehicle .
For examp le, if you on ly receive two keys, you
should take those keys to your authori zed
Aud i dealer to have the missing key deactivat
ed so it cannot be used . You should also re
po rt the m issing key to your insurance compa
ny.
Calling up the driver information
A yellow or red symbol appears in the instru
ment cluster display, usually with a driver
message . The driver message display disap
pears after about
5 seconds. The driver mes
sage can be displayed again by briefly press
ing the
l SE Ti button.
Setting the speed warning
By pressing the iSETi but ton briefly, you can
set threshold 1 of the speed warning while
you are dr iv in g r::.> page 94 . By mainta ining
p ressu re on the
iSET i button, you de lete the
warn ing threshold.

regular supply of fuel can cause engine

Odometer
The odometer indicates the distance driven.

You can switch from kilometers to miles or
vise versa in the radio or in the MMI*. You can learn more about this in the MM
I manual or in
the radio user 's manual.
Odometer /trip odometer
T he odometer shows the total number of kilo
meters or m iles that have been driven on the
vehicle.
The trip odometer shows the distance driven s ince it was last reset.
It can be used to meas
ure short distances . The last digit shows dis
tances of 100 meters or 1/10 of a mile.
The trip odometer can be reset to zero by pressing the reset button
10 .019 fig. 7.
Malfunction message
If there is a malfunction somewhere in the in
strument cluster,
dEF will appear in the trip
odometer and w ill stay on. Contact your au
thorized Audi dea ler to have the prob lem cor
rected.

Single-t rip memory (Trip computer 1 )
The single-t rip memo ry sto res the trip infor
mat ion from the time the ignition is turned o n
until it is tu rned off . If the trip is contin ued
w ithin 2 hours from the time the ignition was
turned off, the new data will be included in
the calcu lation of the current trip informa
tion. If the trip is interrupted for
more than 2
hour s
the memory is reset automatically.
Total -tr ip m emory (Trip compu ter 2 )
Unlike the sing le-trip memory, the tota l-trip
memory is not reset automatically. This per
mits you to evaluate your driving data for the
entire period between manual resets.

Operation
We recommend pressing the IAUTOI button and setting the temperature to 72 °F (22 °C) .

Press the buttons to turn the functions on or
off. Use the d ials to adjust the temperature,
the blower speed and the air dist ribution . Th e
L ED in a button wi ll light up when the func
tion is switched on. The settings are disp layed
for a few seconds in the radio or MMI* display.
The driver and front passenger side can be ad
justed separately. The settings are also dis
p layed in the climate control system disp lay.
IOFF I Switching the climate control
system on/off
The IOFFI button switches the climate control
sys tem on or off. It also switches on when you
press the knob. Airflow from o utside is
b locked when the climate control system is
switched off.
IAC ! Switching cooling mode on/off
The air is not cooled and humidity is not re
moved when cooling mode is switched off.
This can cause fog on the windows . Cooling
mode switches off a utomatica lly when the
outside temperature is below zero.
1 - 1 Switching recirculation mode on/off
In recirculation mode, the air inside the vehi
cle is circu lated and filtered . This prevents the
u nfiltered air outside the vehicle from enter
ing the vehicle interior. We recommend switching
recirculation mode on when driving
th rough a tunnel or when sitting in traff ic
~&. -
The IAU TO I button or!@ FR ONT I button
switches recirculation mode off.
IAU TOI
Switching automatic mode on
Automatic mode maintains a constant tem
perature inside the vehicle. Air temperature,
airflow and air distribution are controlled au
tomatically.
Adjusting the temperature
Temperatures between 60 °F (+16 °C) and 84 °F (+28 °C) can be set. Outside of this
range,
low or high will appear in the radio or
MMI* display . At both of these settings, the
climate control system runs continuously at
maximum cooling o r heating power. There is
no temperature regulation .
~ Adjusting the airflow
You can adjust the airflow manually to suit
your needs . To have the airflow regulated au
tomatically, press the IAUTOI button .
~ Adjusting the air distribution
You can manua lly select the vents where the
air will flow. To have the a ir distribution regu
lated automatically, press the !AU TO ! button.
