Starting the engine
With the parking brake applied and the gearbox
in neutral or position N or P:

the
clutch
pedal
fully

insert
the
key
into
the
ignition
switch;
the
system recognises the code,

unlock

steering
column

turning

In
certain
cases,
you
may
have
to
apply more force to the steer-
ing
(wheels
on
full
lock,
for
ex
-
ample).

With
a
petrol
engine,
operate
the
starter
motor
by
turning
the
key
to
position 3
without
pressing
the
ac
-
celerator
pedal,
until
the
engine
starts.
Once
the
engine
is
running,
release
the key. F
With
a
Diesel
engine,
turn

key
to position
2, ignition on, to operate the
engine pre-heating system.
Wait
until

warning

goes

operate

starter
motor

Never

adequate

monoxide.
Danger

intoxica

In
very
severe
wintry
conditions
(temperatures

-23°C),
to ensure the correct operation
and
durability

the
mechani

cal

MANUAL PARKING BRAKE
Applying
F
Pull
the
parking
brake
lever
fully
up
to
immobilise your vehicle.
Releasing
F
Pull the parking brake lever up gently , press the release button then lower
the
lever fully.
When the vehicle is being driven, if this warning lamp and the ST OP warning lamp come on, accom -
panied by an audible signal and a message
in
the
multifunction
screen,
this indicates
that
the
parking
brake
is
still
on
or has
not
been properly released.
When parking on a slope, direct your
wheels against the kerb,
apply
the
parking
brake,
engage
a
gear
and
switch
of
f
the
ignition.
6-SPEED MANUAL GEARBOX
Engaging 5th or 6th gear
F Move the lever fully to the right to engage
5th or 6th gear. Only
engage
reverse
gear
when
the
vehicle is stationary with the
engine at idle.
As a safety precaution and to fa -
cilitate
starting of the engine:

select neutral,

STOP & START
The Stop & Start system puts the en -
gine temporarily into standby - ST OP mode

stops
in
the
traffic
(red
lights,
traffic
jams,
or
other
...).
The
en
-
gine
restarts
automatically
-
ST
ART
mode

as
soon
as
you
want
to
move
of
f.
The
restart
takes
place
instantly
,
quickly
and silently.
Perfect for urban use, the Stop & Start
system
reduces
fuel
consumption
and
exhaust
emissions
as
well
as
the
noise
level
when stationary.

The cruise control system can -
not, in any circumstances, re -
place
the
need
to
respect
speed
limits,
nor
can
it
replace
the
need
for
vigilance
on
the
part
of
the
driver.
You
are
advised
to
keep
your
feet
near the pedals at all times.
CRUISE CONTROL

Operation
The cruise control is switched on
manually: it requires a minimum ve -
hicle
speed
of

engagement

in
sequential driving mode,

The cruise control is switched off

pedal

triggering

the
trajectory
control
systems, for safety reasons.
It

programmed
speed
temporarily
by
pressing
the
ac

celerator
pedal.
To
return
to
the
programmed
speed,
simply
release the accelerator pedal.
Switching
of
f
the
ignition
cancels
any
programmed
speed value.
