LANE DEPARTURE WARNING SYSTEM
The lane departure warning sys -
tem cannot in any circumstanc -
es
replace
the
need
for
vigilance
on
the part of the driver.
It
is
necessary
to
observe
driv
-
ing
regulations
and
take
a
break
every
two hours.
Activation
F Press this button, the indicator lamp comes
on.
Deactivation
F Press this button again, the indica -
tor lamp goes off.
The
status
of
the
system
remains
in
the
memory
when
the
ignition
is
switched
of
f.
Detection
You are warned by the vibration of the driver's
seat cushion:
-
on
the
right-hand
side,
if
the
mark
-
ing
on
the
ground
has
been
crossed
on
the right,
-
on
the
left-hand
side,
if
the
marking
on
the
ground
has
been
crossed
on
the
left.
No
warning
is
transmitted
while
the
direction
indicator
is
active
and
for
ap
-
proximately
20
seconds
after
the
direc
-
tion
indicator is switched off.
A
warning
may
be
transmitted
if
a
direc
-
tion
marking
(e.g.
arrow)
or
non-standard marking
(e.g. graffiti) is crossed.
Operating fault
The detection may be impeded:
-
if
the
sensors
are
dirty
(mud,
snow
...),
-
if
the
markings
on
the
ground
are worn,
-
if
there
is
little
contrast
be
-
tween
the
markings
on
the
ground
and
the
road
surface.
System
which
detects
the
involuntary
crossing
of
longitudinal
traffic
lane
markings
on
the
ground
(solid
or
bro
-
ken
line).
Sensors,
fitted
below
the
front
bumper
,
trigger
a
warning
if
the
vehicle
drifts
over
a
lane
marking
(speed
higher
than
50
mph
(80
km/h)).
This
system
is
particularly
useful
on
motorways
and
main
roads. In
the
event
of
a
malfunction,
the
service
warning
lamp
comes
on,
accompanied
by
an
audible
signal
and
a
message
in
the
screen.

BLIND SPOT SENSORS
This driving assistance system warns the
driver of the presence of another
vehicle
in
the
blind
spot
angle
of
their
vehicle
(areas
masked
from
the
driver's
field
of
vision),
as
soon
as
this
presents
a
potential danger.
Operation
F On switching on the ignition, or en -
gine running, press this button to
activate
the
function;
the
warning
lamp
comes on.
This
system
is
designed
to
im
-
prove
safety
when
driving
and
is
in
no
circumstances
a
substitute
for
the use of the interior rear
view
mirror
and
door
mirrors.
It
is
the
driver's
responsibility
to
constantly
check
the
traffic,
to
asses
the
distances
and
relative
speeds
of
other
vehicles
and
to
predict
their
movements
before
deciding
whether
to
change
lane.
The
blind
spot
sensor
system
can
never
replace
the
need
for
vigilance
on
the
part
of
the
driver
. Sensors
fitted
in
the
front
and
rear
bum
-
pers
monitor the blind spots.
A warning
lamp
appears
in
the
door
mirror
on
the
side
in
question:
-
immediately
,
when
being
overtaken,
-
after
a
delay
of
about
one
second,
when
overtaking
a
vehicle
slowly.

The system may suf fer tem -
porary interference in certain
weather
conditions (rain, hail...).
In
particular
,
driving
on
a
wet
sur
-
face
or
moving
from
a
dry
area
to
a wet area can cause false alerts
(for
example,
the
presence
of
a
fog
of
water
droplets
in
the
blind
spot
angle
is
interpreted
as
a
ve
-
hicle).
In
bad
or
wintry
weather
,
ensure
that
the
sensors
are
not
covered
by
mud, ice or snow.
Take
care
not
to
cover
the
warn
-
ing
zone
in
the
door
mirrors
or
the
detection
zones
on
the
front
and
rear
bumpers
with
adhesive
labels
or
other
objects;
they
may
hamper
the
correct
operation
of
the
system.
F
T
o
deactivate
the
system,
press
this
button
again;
the
warning
lamp
goes
off.
The
state
of
the
system
remains
in
memory
on
switching
off
the
ignition.
Operating fault
In the event of a fault, the warning lamp in
the button flashes then goes off.
Have
it
checked
by
a
CITROËN
dealer
or
a qualified workshop.
The
system
is
automatically
de
-
activated
when
towing
with
a
towbar
approved
by
CITROËN.

PEED
LIMITER
The speed limiter cannot, in any circumstances,
replace the need
to
respect
speed
limits,
nor
can
it
replace
the
need
for
vigilance
on
the
part of the driver. The
functions
of
this
system
are
grouped
together
on
the
steering
mounted
controls.

Steering mounted controls
Operation
System which prevents the vehicle from
exceeding the speed programmed
by
the driver.
When
the
programmed
speed
limit
is
reached,
pressing
the
accelerator
ped
-
al
no longer has any effect.
The
speed
limiter
is
switched on
man
-
ually:
it
requires
a
programmed
speed
of
at least 20 mph (30 km/h).
The
speed
limiter
is
switched off
by
manual
operation of the control.
The
programmed
speed
can
be
ex
-
ceeded
temporarily
by
pressing
the
accelerator
firmly
beyond
the
point
of
resistance.
T
o
return
to
the
programmed
speed,
simply
release the accelerator pedal.
The
programmed
speed
remains
in
the
memory
when
the
ignition
is
switched

The cruise control system can -

near the pedals at all times.

Operation
The cruise control is switched on
manually: it requires a minimum ve -
hicle
speed
of
25
mph
(40
km/h)
and
engagement
of:

fourth
gear on the manual gearbox,

second

the
electronic
gear

box
system
or
automatic
gearbox,
in
sequential driving mode,
-
position
A
on
the
electronic
gearbox

or

on
an
automatic
gear

box.
The cruise control is switched off
man
-
ually
or
by
pressing
the
brake
or
clutch
pedal
or
on
triggering
of
the
trajectory
control
systems, for safety reasons.
It
is
possible
to
exceed
the
programmed
speed
temporarily
by
pressing
the
ac
-
celerator
pedal.
To
return
to
the
programmed
speed,
simply
release the accelerator pedal.
Switching
of
f
the
ignition
cancels
any
programmed
speed value.

The function displays the following types of

If
the
lateral
distance
between
your
ve

hicle
and
the
parking
space
is
too
large,
the
system
may
not
be
able
to
measure
the
space.
If there is a fault, have the sys-
tem
checked
by
a
CITROËN
dealer
or a qualified workshop.
The
system
remains
available
after
each
measurement
and
can
therefore
measure
several spaces in succession.
In poor or wintry weather, ensure that
the
sensors
are
free
of
dirt,
ice
or
snow
.
The
parking
space
sensor
system
de
-
activates
the
front
parking
sensors
when
measuring forwards.

FUEL TANK
Capacity of the tank: approximately
60 litres.
When the low fuel level in the
tank
is
reached,
this
warning
lamp
comes
on
in
the
instru
-
ment
panel,
accompanied
by
an
audible
warning
and
the
dis
-
play
of
an
alert
message.
When
it
first
comes
on,
around
6 li-
tres
of fuel remain in the tank.
Until
sufficient
fuel
has
been
added,
ev
-
ery
time
the
ignition
is
switched
on,
this
warning
lamp
appears,
accompanied
by
an
audible
signal
and
an
alert
mes
-
sage.
When
driving,
this
audible
signal
and
the
display
of
this
alert
message
are
repeated
with
increasing
frequency
,
as
the level drops towards 0.
You
must
refuel
as
soon
as
possible
to
avoid
running out.
If you run out of fuel (
d iesel), refer also
to
"Checks".
Low fuel level Refuelling
Additions of
fuel must be of at least
5 litres to be registered by the fuel
gauge.
Opening
the
filler
cap
may
result
in
an
inrush
of
air
.
This
vacuum
is
entirely
normal
and
results
from
the
sealing
of
the
fuel system.
F
Press control
A
until
the
automatic
opening
of the fuel flap is heard.
This
control
remains
active
for
a
few
minutes
after
switching
of
f
the
igni
-
tion.
If
necessary
,
switch
the
ignition
on
again to reactivate it.
F
T
ake
care
to
select
the
pump
that
delivers
the
correct
fuel
for
your
ve
-
hicle.
If you are filling your tank to the top,
do not persist after the third cut-off;
this could cause your vehicle to mal-
function.
With Stop & Start, never refuel
with
the
system
in
ST
OP
mode;
you
must
switch
of
f
the
ignition
with
the

Introduce
the
nozzle
so
as
to
push
in
the metal non-return flap B.

Make
sure
that
the
nozzle
is
pushed
in
as
far
as
possible
before
starting
to
refuel (risk of blowback).

the

pump

resistance

resistance

the

press).

starter
until
the
engine
starts
(if
the
engine
does
not
start
at
the
first
attempt,
wait
around
15 seconds
before trying again).

If
the
engine
does
not
start
after
a
few
attempts,
operate
the
priming
pump
again then start the engine.

Refit
the
styling
cover
and
clip
it
in
place.

Close
the bonnet.

fitted

HDi
engines,
the
fuel
system
must
be
primed
if
you
run
out
of
fuel;
refer

the
corresponding
engine
compartment
view.
If
the
tank
on
your
vehicle
is
fitted
with
a
misfuel
prevention
device,
refer
to
the
"Misfuel
prevention
(Diesel)"
section.
