Automatic illumination of
headlamps
The sidelamps and dipped beam head -
lamps are switched on automatically ,
without any action on the part of the
driver
,
when
a
low
level
of
external
light
is
detected
or
in
certain
cases
of
activa
-
tion
of the windscreen wipers.
As
soon
as
the
brightness
returns
to
a
sufficient
level
or
after
the
windscreen
wipers
are
switched
of
f,
the
lamps
are
switched
off automatically.

Operating fault
In
fog
or
snow
,
the
sunshine
sensor
may
detect
sufficient
light.
Therefore,
the
lighting
will
not
come on automatically.

HEADLAMPS
The initial setting is position "0".
AUTOMATIC ADjUSTMENT OF XENON
HEADLAMPS
This system adjusts the height of the xenon
headlamp beams automatically
and
when
stationary
,
according
to
the
load
in
the
vehicle,
so
as
to
avoid
caus
-
ing
a nuisance to other road user.
If
a
malfunction
occurs,
this
warning
lamp
is
displayed
in
the
instrument
panel,
ac
-
companied
by
an
audible
signal
and
a
message
in the screen.
The system then places your headlamps in
the lowest position.
Do not touch the xenon bulbs.

windscreen wipers
The windscreen wipers operate automat -
ically, without any action on the part of
the
driver

rain
is
detected

adapting
their speed
to the intensity of the rainfall.

is

wiping
cycle,

the bonnet.
Checking
and
topping
up
this
fluid
can
should
be done with the engine off.
The
level
of
this
fluid
should
be
checked
regularly
, particularly during winter.

consumption

the
fluid

headlamp

ers, they operate only with every
seventh use of the screenwash
or
every
25
miles

km)
during
a
given journey.

Front seat belts
The front
seat belts are fitted with a pre -
tensioning and force limiting system.
This
system
improves
safety
in
the
front
seats
in
the
event
of
a
front
or
side
im
-
pact.
Depending
on
the
severity
of
the
impact,
the
pretensioning
system
in
-
stantly
tightens
the
seat
belts
against
the
body of the occupants.
The
pretensioning
seat
belts
are
active
when
the ignition is on.
The
force
limiter
reduces
the
pressure
of
the seat belt on the chest of the oc-
cupant,
so improving their protection.
Fastening

Pull
the
strap,
then
insert
the
tongue
in
the buckle.

that
the
seat
belt
is
fastened

seat belt, with force limiter

outer
seats,
an

limiter

Deactivation
Only
the
passenger's
front
airbag
can
be
deactivated:
F
insert
the
key
in
the
passenger
air
-
bag
deactivation switch,
F
turn it to the
"OFF" position,
F
then,
remove
the
key
keeping
the
switch
in the new position.
According
to
version,
this
warn
-
ing
lamp
comes
on
in
the
in
-
strument
panel
and/or
in
the
seat
belt
and
passenger's
front
airbag
warning
lamps
display
when
the
ignition
is
on
and
until
the
airbag
is
re
-
activated. To assure the safety of your
child,
the
passenger's
front
air
-
bag
must
be
deactivated
when
you
install
a
"rear
facing"
child
seat
on
the
front
passenger
seat.
Otherwise,
the
child
would
risk
being
seriously
injured
or
kille
d
if
the
airbag were deployed.
Reactivation
When
you
remove
the
child
seat,
turn
the switch to the
"ON" position to re-
activate
the
airbag
and
so
assure
the
safety
of
your
front
passenger
in
the
event
of an impact.
With
the
ignition
on,
this
warn
-
ing
lamp
comes
on
in
the
seat
belt
and
passenger's
front
air
-
bag
warning
lamps
display
for
approximately
one
minute,
if
the
pas
-
senger's
front airbag is activated.Operating fault
If
this
warning
lamp
comes

panel,

tact
a

dealer

checked.
The
airbags

longer
