This Owner's Manual describes all possible equipment variants without identify-
ing them as special equipment, model variants or market-dependent equipment.
Consequently, this vehicle does not need to contain all of the equipment compo-
nents described in this Owner's Manual.
The level of equipment of your vehicle refers to your purchase contract of the ve-
hicle. For more information, please contact your local ŠKODA retailer.
The illustrations in this Owner's Manual may have differences from your vehicle;
they are only intended for general information.
WARNING■ Concentrate fully at all times on your driving! As the driver you are fully re-
sponsible for the operation of your vehicle.■
Only use the device in a way that ensures that you are in full control of your
vehicle in every traffic situation - there is a risk of accident!
■
Adjust the volume to ensure that acoustic signals from outside, e.g. sirens
from vehicles which have the right of way, such as police, ambulance and fire
brigade vehicles, can be heard at all time.
■
High volumes can cause hearing damage.

Availability of traffic monitoring is shown on the display by the symbol in con-
junction with the station name (for example, from the station or preset lists).
If the radio station does not broadcast traffic reports, or if no traffic stations can
be found (due to a general radio reception interruption, for example), then the
symbol
is displayed.
If the set radio station does not support traffic reports,
then an appropriate sta-
tion is automatically set in the background
to enable traffic reports to be contin-
uously received.
The device functions in the same way for the selected
frequency range.
While playing in Media mode, the last selected radio station continues to be re-
ceived in the background if it supports traffic information.
Interrupting/stopping the traffic programme When the traffic programme is being received, Traffic announcement is displayed

The device can be used to play audio files saved on a CD.
The internal drive can only be used to play audioCDs (CD-A), CD-Rs and CD-RWs.
Inserting›With the labelled side facing up, insert a CD into the CD slot 12 » Fig. 1 on page 5
until it is automatically drawn in. The play function will start automatically.
Ejecting›
Press the button – the CD is ejected.
If the ejected CD is not removed within 10 seconds, it is retracted again for safety
reasons. The play function will not start automatically.
WARNINGThe CD player is a laser product. On the manufacturing date, this unit was classified as a class 1 laser product in accordance with the national/interna-
tional standards DIN EN 60825-1: 2008-05 and DHHS Rules 21 CFR,
Subchapter J classified as a class 1 laser product. The laser beam used in this
class 1 laser product is so weak that it poses no risk when operated correctly.
This product is designed such that the laser beam is restricted to the inside of
the device. However, this does not mean that the integrated laser could be
classified as a higher class laser product were the housing to be removed. For
this reason, never remove the housing from the device.
CAUTION
■ Never place DVDs into the internal drive, as this may cause irreparable damage
to the device.■
Never insert CDs with the designation “ Do not insert in drives without a draw-
er ” into the internal drive or use “ EcoDiscs” in the internal drive.
■
After pressing the button , there is a delay of a few seconds before the CD is
ejected. During this time, the barrier to the CD slot is open.
■
Be sure to wait until the CD has been fully ejected before you try to insert a new
CD. Failure to do so can cause damage to the device drive.
■
If the CD has mechanical damage, is not readable or is inserted incorrectly, the
following message is displayed: CD functionality is restricted. Check the CD and
insert it properly into the drive. If the message is displayed again, try using anoth-
er CD or visit a specialist garage if necessary.
■
If the inside temperature of the device is too high, no CDs will be accepted. The
device switches to the last active operating mode.
■
Never use liquids such as benzine, paint thinner or record cleaner to clean the
surface of the CD, as this may cause damage.

If there are no artist, album and track names available in the file being played, the folder or file name
is displayed.

Telephones and two-way radio systems
Introduction
This chapter contains information on the following subjects:
Main menu
25
Error messages
25
Phonebox
26
First and foremost, pay attention to the safety instructions » page 4 , Important
notes .
The Telephone menu is available when the following conditions are met:
The ignition is switched on.
The Bluetooth ®
function on the device is switched on.
ŠKODA permits the operation of mobile phones and two-way radio systems with
a professionally installed external aerial and a maximum transmission power of
up to 10 watts.
Please ask at a specialist workshop about installing and operating mobile phones
and two-way radio systems that have a transmission power of more than 10 W.
Operating mobile phones or two-way radio systems may interfere with the func-
tionality of the electronic systems in your vehicle.
The reasons for this are as follows:
› no external aerial;
› incorrectly installed external aerial;
› transmission power greater than 10 watts.
After the device is switched on, the system attempts to connect to the most re-
cently connected mobile phone 1)
.
WARNING■ The national legal regulations for using a mobile phone in a vehicle must be
observed.■
If a mobile phone or a two-way radio system is operated in a vehicle without
an external aerial or with an incorrectly installed external aerial, this can in-
crease the strength of the electromagnetic field inside the vehicle.
■
Two-way radio systems, mobile phones or mounts must not be installed on
airbag covers or within the immediate deployment range of the airbags.
■
Never leave a mobile phone on a seat, on the dash panel or in any area
where it can become a projectile during a sudden braking manoeuvre, an acci-
dent or a collision — risk of injury.
■
The Bluetooth ®
function must be switched off by a specialist workshop be-
fore the vehicle is transported by air.
CAUTION
The range of the Bluetooth ®
connection to the hands-free system is restricted to
the vehicle interior. The range is dependent on local conditions, e.g. obstacles be-
tween the devices and mutual interferences with other devices. If your mobile
phone is in a jacket pocket, for example, this can lead to difficulties when estab-
lishing a connection with the hands-free-system or transferring data.
Note
We recommend that the installation of mobile phones and two-way radio sys-
tems in a vehicle be carried out by a specialist garage.1)
With some phones, it is necessary to set the connection to the device as "authorised" in order for the
automatic connection to be successful. If this is not set, the system will prompt you for a confirma-
tion each time you attempt to connect to the mobile phone.

Phonebox
First read and observe the introductory information and safety warn- ings
on page 24.
At the bottom of the storage compartment in the front center console is an in-
duction plate connected to a GSM roof antenna roof - the Phonebox.
Function
When the mobile phone is inserted into the Phonebox, the phone signal increases in strength by about 20%. This reduces the level of phone battery discharge and
the electromagnetic radiation inside the vehicle.
Inserting the mobile phone into the Phonebox›Press on the edge of the lid A in the direction of the arrow, and open the stor-
age compartment.›
Place the mobile phone in the storage compartment
B
with its back on the in-
duction panel.
›
Press on the edge of the lid
A
in the opposite direction from the arrow, and
close the storage compartment » .
The Phonebox cannot be used as an alternative to connecting the mobile phone
with the device.
WARNINGFor safety reasons, the storage compartment must always be closed when
driving.
Note
■ Protective cases or cases around the mobile phone placed in the storage com-
partment may interfere with the phone signal strength.■
Metallic objects such as coins or keys under the mobile phone can affect the
phone signal strength.
