Providing a compelling 360 - degree
soundstage, the BOSE
® Surround Sound
System is compatible with the CDR and
CDR Plus audio systems as well as
Porsche Communication Management
(PCM).
Specially custom-engineered for the
Cayenne models, the system features
a total of 14 loudspeakers (including
active subwoofer and centre-fill speaker)
that combine with a 585-wat t 9- channel
amplifier to produce a powerful sound
experience. In combination with Porsche Communi
-
cation Management (PCM), the BOSE
®
Surround Sound System enables play -
back of audio DVDs, making full use of
the impressive sound spectrum of 5.1
digital recordings. Of course, you can
still play other audio sources such
as CDs and MP3s. In stereo or, at the
push of a but ton, in one of the virtual
surround modes generated by BOSE
®
Centerpoint
® 2 technology. The BOSE
®-patented AudioPilot® noise
compensation technology uses a
microphone in the cockpit to monitor
ambient sound. The system is then able
to provide real-time adjustment of all
audio output – for a more consistent
aural experience.

Lane Departure Warning (LDW).
Activated and deactivated via a button in
the centre console, the Lane Departure
Warning
system uses a camera to iden -
tify
both lane markings and operates
at speeds in excess of 65 km/ h. If the
vehicle is threatening to stray outside the
lane, an acoustic warning signal sounds.
If Lane Departure Warning is activated,
this is indicated in the multi-purpose
d isp lay.
Optional for all Cayenne models.
Lane Change Assist (LCA).
Lane Change Assist (LCA) monitors the
area behind the vehicle and the blind
spot using radar sensors. At speeds
bet ween 30 and 210 km/ h, the system
alerts the driver of a vehicle in the blind
spot or approaching quickly from behind
via a visual signal from the exterior mir -
rors. This enhances comfort and safet y,
particularly when driving on the motor -
way. However, LCA does not actively
intervene in the controlling of the vehicle
and can be deactivated at any time.
