Manual air conditioning
The air conditioning can only operate with the engine running.
1. Temperature adjustment
F
Turn the dial from left(cold) to right (hot) to adjust
the temperature to your
requirements.
2. Air fl ow adjustment
F
Press the "full fan"
button to
increase the air flow.
According to the value selected,
the associated line of LEDs fills progressively.
F Press the "empty fan"
button toreduce the air flow.
3. Air distribution adjustment
F
press the corresponding button for:
Windscreen and side windows.
Central and side vents.
F
ootwells.
Depending on your requirements, you can combine two distribution buttons or select the three distribution modes
simultaneously.

Automatic operation
1. Automatic comfort programme
F
Press this "AU TO "button. Theindicator lamp comes on.
We recommend that you use this mode. It automatically adjusts all settings to provide
optimum operation for the comfor t level chosen: passenger compar tment temperature, air flow, air distribution and air recirculation.
This system is designed to operate effectivelyin all seasons, with the windows closed.
When the engine is cold, to prevent too great a distribution of cold air, the air flow will reach its optimum levelgradually. In cold weather, it favours the distribution of warm air to the windscreen, side windows and footwells only.
2 - 3. Driver-passenger side adjustment
The driver and front passenger can each adjust
the temperature to their requirements.
The value indicated on the display corresponds
to a level of comfor t and not to a temperature in
degrees Celsius or Fahrenheit.
FTurn control 2or 3to the left(blue) or to the right (red) respectively to decrease or increase this value.
A setting around the value 21 provides optimum comfort. However, depending on your requirements,
a setting between 18 and 24 is normal. It is recommended that the difference between
left and right should not be greater 3. The air conditionin
g can only operate with the engine running.

Press this button to demist/defrost the rear screen and, depending on version, the door mirrors. The indicator lamp associated with
the button comes on.
With Stop & Star t, when demisting has been activated, the STOP mode is not available.
Switching off
The demist/defrost switches off automatically toprevent an excessive consumption of current. F
It is possible to stop the demist/defrost
operation before it is switched off automatically by pressing the button again.
The indicator lamp associated with the

goes off.
The system automatically manages the air conditioning, air flow and air intake, and provides optimum distribution towards the
windscreen and side windows.
Adjust the temperature control to quickly
demist /defrost the windows.
To switch it off, press the "visibility" button again, the warning lamp in the button goes off
and the system rever ts to the previous settings.
F Select this programme to demist or defrost the windscreen andside windows as quickly as possible.

which heats the engine hot water circuit
to improve defrosting and to preheat thepassenger compartment.

Starting-switching off the engine
With a manual gearbox
, put the gear lever in neutral.
With an electronic gear control gearbox, put the gear lever in N.
With an automatic gearbox

FInser t the key in the ignition switch. FTurn the key fully towards the dashboard toposition 3 (Starting).FWhen the engine star ts, release the key.
Starting using the key

FImmobilise the vehicle. FTurn the key fully towards you to position 1(Stop)
. FRemove the key from the ignition switch.
For Diesel vehicles, in very cold weather the engine will not star t until the pre-heater warning lamp has
gone off.
Key left in the ignition
If the key is left in the ignition switch,there is an audible signal on opening the driver's door.
If one of the star ting conditions is not met, a reminder message appears inthe instrument panel screen. In somecircumstances, it is necessary to turn the steering wheel slightly while pressing the "STA R T/STOP" button to assist unlocking of the steering; a message warns you when this is needed.
If the vehicle is not immobilised, theengine will not stop. FWith the electronic key inside the vehicle,
press the brake pedal on vehicles with
automatic or electronic
gear controlgearbox, or depress the clutch pedal fully
on vehicles with a manual gearbox and
maintain pressure until the engine star ts.

Anti-theft protection
Electronic engine immobiliser
The keys contain an electronic chip which has a secret code. When the ignition is switched
on, this code must be reco
gnised in order for starting to be possible.
This electronic engine immobiliser locks the
engine management system a few minutesafter the ignition is switched off and prevents starting of the engine by anyone who does nothave the key.
In the event o
f a malfunction, you are informed by a message in the instrument panel screen.In this case, your vehicle does not start; contacta PEUGEOT dealer as soon as possible.
Emergency starting with the electronic key
When the electronic key is in the defined zone
and your vehicle does not star t after pressing
the "STA R T/STOP" button: F Open the housing below the "STA R T/STOP" button.F
Inser t the electronic key in the location A.F
Press the "STA R T/STOP" button.
Once the engine has started, you canremove the electronic key and close the housing.
Emergency switch- off using the electronic key
In the event of an emergency only, the engine can be switched of without conditions. To do
this, press and hold the "STA R T/STOP" button for about 3 seconds.
In this case the steering column locks as soon
as the vehicle stops.

f the electronic key is no longer in the defined
zone when you request switching off the engine,
a message appears in the instrument panel. F Press and hold the "STA R T/STOP" button
for about 3 seconds if you want to forceswitching off the engine (note that restarting
will not be possible without the key).
The electronic key must always remain inside the vehicle while in use.

Driving
It is recommended that you do not apply the parking brake in very cold conditions (ice) and during towing
(breakdown, caravan...). Deactivate theautomatic functions and release theparking brake manually.
Before leaving the vehicle, check that parking brake warning lamps in the instrument panel and the control lever Aare on, not flashing.
The electric parking brake combines
2 operating modes:
-
Automatic Application/Release Application is automatic when the engine stops, release is automatic on use of the accelerator (this mode is activated by
default), -Manual Application/Release Manual application of the parking brake is done by pulling control lever A. manual release is done by pushing and releasing the control lever, while pressing
the brake pedal
When the driver's door is opened, there is an
audible si
gnal and a message is displayed if the
brake is not applied.
Programming the mode
Depending on the country of sale of the vehicle,
the automatic application when the engine is switched off and the automatic release whenyou press the accelerator can be deactivated. With the vehicle stationary, to apply the parking
brake whether the en
gine is running or off, pull
control lever A
.
Manual application
Activation / deactivation is done via
the menu in the instrument panel
screen.
The parkin
g brake is then applied and released
manually. The application o
f the parking brake isconfirmed by:

ghting of the braking warning lamp and of the Pwarning lamp
in the control lever A,
- displa
y of the message "Parking brake on".
When the driver’s door is opened with the
engine running, there is an audible signal and
a message is displayed if the parking brake
has not been applied, unless the gear lever is in position P(Park) in the case of an automatic gearbox.
Electric parking brake
If this warning lamp comes on in the instrument panel, the automatic modeis deactivated.
