Both driver and passenger should wear an
approved motorcycle helmet that fits proper-
ly. Both driver and passenger should also
wear eye protection (goggles or a face
shield), gloves, over-the-ankle boots, long-
sleeved shirt or jacket, and long pants.
Do not drive or ride as passenger after using
drugs or alcohol.
Prepare your vehicle
Perform the pre-operation checks each time you
use the vehicle to make sure it is in safe operating
condition. Failure to inspect or maintain the vehicle
properly increases the possibility of an accident or
equipment damage. See pages 5-1–5-2 for a list of
pre-operation checks.
