Stopping your vehicle and the hybrid system
- With the electronic key inside the vehicle,
then press the START/STOPbutton or turn
the key fully off to position 1 (stop) then
remove the key from the ignition switch;
the parking brake is applied automatically if configured to do so.

Otherwise apply the parking brake manually, the Pwarning lamp must be on. - Apply the brake until the vehicle comes to acomplete stop.
- Place the gear lever in position N.
When stationary, switch off the ignition and check that the Readylamp is off before leaving the vehicle. Otherwise the hybrid system will still be active.See the section on "Underbonnet precautions/warnings".

Electronic engine immobiliser
The keys contain an electronic chip which hasa secret code. When the ignition is switched
on, this code must be recognised in order for
starting to be possible.
This electronic engine immobiliser locks
the en
gine management system a few minutesafter the ignition is switched off and prevents
starting of the engine by anyone who does not have the key.
In the event of a malfunction, you are informed by a message in the instrument panel screen.In this case, your vehicle does not start; contacta PEUGEOT dealer as soon as possible.

Emergency starting withthe electronic key

Emergency switch- off usingthe electronic key
In the event of an emergency only, the enginecan be switched of without conditions. To dothis, press and hold the "START/STOP" button
for about 3 seconds.
In this case the steering column locks as soon
as the vehicle stops.
If the electronic key is no longer in the definedzone when you request switching off the engine, a message appears in the instrument panel. )

Electronic key not recognised bythe "Keyless Entry and Starting"
system
If the electronic key is no longer in the defined
zone when driving or when you (later) request switching off of the hybrid system, a message
appears in the instrument panel.
Once the engine has started, you can remove the electronic key and close thehousing.

Examples of displays
On starting and when stationary
There is no flow of energy (the Stop & Star t system stops and restar ts the Diesel engine automatically).
Energy recovery
During this phase (deceleration, braking, foot off theaccelerator, … all modes), the battery is recharged by the electric motor/generator, then being driven by the rear wheels.
100 % electric
In all electric running (AUTO or ZEV modes), only the electricmotor, powered by the battery, drives the rear wheels.
The display of "Zero Emissions" indicates that the Diesel engine
is off and the vehicle is producing no CO2.

200 V high voltage battery
The Ni-MH (Nickel Metal Hydride) type 200 Vhigh voltage battery is located below the boot floor, close to the electric motor. It cannot berecharged from a mains supply.
Charging
The battery is charged when the vehicledecelerates, the electric motor then becoming
a generator and converts kinetic energy intoelectrical energy (except if the speed of the
vehicle is above 70 mph (120 km/h)).
The battery is not recharged from a mains
supply.
The battery may also be charged automatically
when required by the Stop & Star t system of
the Diesel engine.
This recover
y allows the use of "free" energy.
The battery charging time is very shor t and is
continuous.
A discharged battery (following ZEV running or high load, for example) will quickly return to astate of charge sufficient for full operation of the
different hybrid modes.
Thecharging takes place automatically
when driving. The energy recovery can be faster during deceleration.
To preser ve the ser vice life of the battery, the level of charge never falls below 20 %, even if a level of 0 bars is displayed after ZEV running.

Fan cooling of the high voltage battery
The high voltage battery has an air coolingsystem, comprising an air intake (located on
the rear shelf) and a fan (located behind the
boot trim).
This s
ystem does not work continuously,
but adapts the force of the fan cooling to the requirements of the battery.
Its operation can be heard at the rear, even if
the vehicle is stopped after a run.
If the air intake is blocked, the battery may
overheat, damaging the battery and causing a
loss of performance of the hybrid system.
For the best use of the high voltage battery, please follow these recommendations: - do not obstruct the air intake withloose articles, otherwise, thebattery may overheat, causing a loss of performance of the hybrid system,- do not spill fluids, as this may causedamage to the battery.

Diesel engine pre-heatingfixed. The START/STOPswitch has been
pressed (ignition on). Wait until the warning lamp goes off before star ting.
The period of illumination of the warning lamp is determined bythe ambient conditions (up to about thir ty seconds in extreme
conditions).
If the engine does not star t, switch the ignition off and then on,
wait until the warning lamp goes off again, then start the engine.
Parking brakefixed. The parking brake is applied or not
properly released. Release the parking brake to switch off the warning lamp,keeping your foot on the brake pedal.
Obser ve the safety recommendations.
For fur ther information on the parking brake, refer to the "Driving"section.
Deactivation of the automatic functions of the electric parkingbrake
fixed. The "automatic application" (on switching off the engine) and"automatic release" functions are
deactivated or faulty. Activate the function
(according to country) via the vehicle configuration menu or contact a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified
workshop if automatic application/release is not possible.
The parking brake can be released manually using theemergency release procedure.
For more information on the electric parking brake, refer to the "Driving" section.
Foot on thebrake pedalfixed. The brake pedal is not pressed. Press the brake pedal to star t the hybrid system (lever in position N).
If you wish to release the parking brake without pressing thebrake pedal, this warning lamp will remain on.

Warning lamps
With the hybrid system active or when the vehicle is being driven, illumination of one of the following warning lamps indicates a fault which requires
action on the par t of the driver.
Any fault resulting in the illumination of a warning lamp must be investigated fur ther by reading the associated message in the instrument panel screen.
If you encounter any problems, contact a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop.
