Controls
Steering Wheel
Adjustment
For vehicles with a tilt steering
wheel, the lever is located on the
left side of the steering column.To adjust the steering wheel:
1. Pull the lever to move the
steering wheel up or down into a
comfortable position.
2. Release the lever to lock the steering wheel in place.
Do not adjust the steering wheel
while driving.
Steering Wheel Controls
If available, some audio controls
can be adjusted at the steering
wheel.
See Cruise Control on page 9‑37 for
more information on other steering
wheel control.

Navigating Folders on an iPod or
USB Device
1. Press and hold
worc/x
while listening to a song until the
contents of the current folder
display on the radio display.
2. Press and hold
c/xto go
back to the previous folder list.
3. Press and release
worc/x
to scroll up or down the list.

when the folder is
highlighted.

b/g(Push to Talk): Press to
silence the vehicle speakers only.
Press again to turn the sound on.

for longer than two seconds to
interact with those systems. See

SRCE (Source/Voice
Recognition): Press to switch
between the radio and CD, and
for equipped vehicles, the front
auxiliary.
¨(Seek): Press to go to the
next radio station while in AM,
FM, or XM™.
For vehicles with a CD Player or
USB port:
Press
¨to go to the next track or
chapter while sourced to the CD. Press
¨to select a track or a folder
when navigating folders on an iPod
or USB device.
While listening to a CD, press and
hold
¨to quickly move forward
through the tracks. Release to
stop on the desired track.

e: Press to increase volume.

e: Press to decrease volume.
Horn
Press the horn symbol in the middle
of the steering wheel to sound
the horn.

Windshield Wiper/Washer
The windshield wiper control is
located on the multifunction lever on
the left side of the steering wheel.
Turn the band with
Non it to select
the wiper speed.
8(Mist): Use for a single wipe.
Hold the band on
z, then release.
For several wipes, hold the band
on
zlonger.
6(Adjustable Interval Wipes):
Use to adjust the delay time
between wipes. Turn the band up
for more frequent wipes or down for
less frequent wipes.
d(Low Speed): Slow wipes.
a(High Speed): Fast wipes.
9(Off):Use to turn the
wipers off.
When driving during the day and
the wipers are activated, the head
lamps automatically turn on after
completing eight wipe cycles.
Clear ice and snow from the wiper
blades before using them. If frozen
to the windshield, carefully loosen or
thaw them. Damaged blades should
be replaced.
Windshield Washer
The windshield wiper paddle is
located on top of the multifunction
lever.
L(Washer Fluid): Push the
paddle to spray washer fluid on the
windshield. The wipers will clear the
window and then either stop or
return to the preset speed.
{WARNING
In freezing weather, do not use
the washer until the windshield is
warmed. Otherwise the washer
fluid can form ice on the
windshield, blocking your vision.

Emissions Inspection and
Maintenance Programs
Some local governments may have
programs to inspect the on-vehicle
emission control equipment. For the
inspection, the emission system test
equipment is connected to the
vehicle’s Data Link
Connector (DLC).
The DLC is under the instrument
panel to the left of the steering
wheel. See your dealer if assistance
is needed.
The vehicle may not pass
inspection if:
.The malfunction indicator lamp is
on with the engine running, or if
the light does not come on when
the ignition is turned to ON/RUNwhile the engine is off. See your
dealer for assistance in verifying
proper operation of the
malfunction indicator lamp.
.The OBD II (On-Board
Diagnostics) system determines
that critical emission control
systems have not been
completely diagnosed. The
vehicle would be considered not
ready for inspection. This can
happen if the 12-volt battery has
recently been replaced or run
down. The diagnostic system is
designed to evaluate critical
emission control systems during
normal driving. This can take
several days of routine driving.
If this has been done and the
vehicle still does not pass the
inspection for lack of OBD II
system readiness, your dealer
can prepare the vehicle for
inspection.
Brake System Warning
Light
The vehicle brake system consists
of two hydraulic circuits. If one
circuit is not working, the remaining
circuit can still work to stop the
vehicle. For normal braking
performance, both circuits need to
be working.
If the warning light comes on, there
could be a brake problem. Have the
brake system inspected right away.
MetricEnglish
This light should come on briefly
when ignition key is turned to ON/
RUN. If it does not come on, have it
fixed so it will be ready to warn if
there is a problem.

Exterior Lamp Controls
The exterior lamp control is located
on the instrument panel to the left of
the steering wheel.
It controls the following systems:
.Headlamps
.Taillamps
.Parking Lamps
.License Plate Lamps
.Instrument Panel Lights The exterior lamp control has
four positions:
O(Off):
Briefly turn the control to
this position to turn the automatic
headlamps and Daytime Running
Lamps (DRL) off or back on.
For vehicles first sold in Canada,
the off position only works for
vehicles that are shifted into the
P (Park) position.
AUTO (Automatic): Turns on the
headlamps automatically at normal
brightness, together with the
following:

.Instrument Panel Lights
.Taillamps
.License Plate Lamps
;(Parking Lamps): Turns on the
parking lamps together with the
following:

Hazard Warning Flashers
|(Hazard Warning Flashers):
Press this button located on top of
the steering column, to make the
front and rear turn signal lamps
flash on and off. This warns others
that you are having trouble. Press
again to turn the flashers off.
When the hazard warning flashers
are on, the vehicle's turn signals will
not work.
Turn and Lane-Change
Signals
G: An arrow on the instrument
panel cluster flashes in the direction
of the turn or lane change.
To signal a turn, move the lever all
the way up or down.
To signal a lane change, raise or
lower the lever until the arrow
starts to flash. The turn signal
automatically flashes three times
and if the Tow/Haul Mode is active
it flashes six times. Holding the
turn signal lever for more than
one second causes the turn signals
to flash continually until the lever
is released. The lever returns to its starting
position when released.
If after signaling a turn or lane
change the arrow flashes rapidly or
does not come on, a signal bulb
may be burned out.
Have any burned out bulbs
replaced. If the bulb is not burned
out, check the fuse. See
Fuses and
Circuit Breakers on page 10‑41.Turn Signal On Chime
If the turn signal is left on for more
than 1.2 km (0.75 mi), a chime
sounds at each flash of the turn
signal and the message TURN
SIGNAL ON also appears in the
Driver Information Center (DIC).
See Lamp Messages on page 5‑38.
To turn off the chime and message,
move the turn signal lever to the
off position.

Interior Lighting
Instrument Panel
Illumination Control
The knob for this feature is located
to the left of the steering column.
D(Instrument Panel Lights):
Push the knob to extend and then
turn clockwise or counterclockwise
to brighten or dim the instrument
panel lights and the radio display.
This only works if the headlamps or
parking lamps are on.
Dome Lamps
The dome lamps come on when any
door is opened. They turn off after
all the doors are closed.
The instrument panel brightness
knob extends when
Dis pressed.
To manually turn on the dome
lamps, press
Dthen turn the knob
clockwise to the farthest position.
In this position, the dome lamps
remain on whether a door is opened
or closed.
Dome Lamp Override
TheEDOME OFF button is
located above the instrument panel
brightness knob.
The dome lamp override sets the
dome lamps to remain off or
come on automatically when a
door is opened.
