HEADLAMP CONTROL
Turns the lamps off.
Turns on the parking lamps,
instrument panel lamps, license
plate lamps and tail lamps.
Turns the low beam headlamps
on.
Adaptive headlamps (if equipped)
The headlamp beams move in the same direction as the steering wheel
which provides more visibility when driving around curves.
•Without adaptive headlamps (1)
•With adaptive headlamps (2)
Note:The system has a power-up
movement check feature. When the
vehicle is started, the lamps track
left to right, then back to center to
alert the driver that the system is
working properly. There is a delay of
two to five seconds before the
adaptive headlamp system will
operate when the vehicle is driven,
as the system is inactive below
3 mph (5 km/h).

Fog lamp control
With the ignition on, the fog lamps
can be turned on when the
headlamp control is pulled toward
you and is in any of the following
positions:
•Parking lamps
•Low beams
•Autolamps (when active)
The fog lamp indicator light will
illuminate when the fog lamps have been turned on. The fog lamps will
not operate when the high beams are active.
High beams
Push the lever toward the
instrument panel to activate. Pull
the lever toward you to deactivate.
Flash-to-pass
Pull toward you slightly to activate
and release to deactivate.
Daytime running lamps (DRL) (if equipped)
Turns the headlamps on with a reduced intensity output (halogen
headlamps) or turns the front fog lamps on (HID headlamp).

2. Measure the height of the
headlamp bulb center from the
ground and mark an 8 foot
(2.4 meter) horizontal reference line
on the vertical wall or screen at this
height (a piece of masking tape works well). The center of the lamp is
marked bya3mmcircleontheheadlamp lens.
3. Turn on the low beam headlamps to illuminate the wall or screen and
open the hood.
To see a clearer light pattern for adjusting, you may want to block the
light from one headlamp while adjusting the other.
For vehicles with halogen headlamps:
On the wall or screen you will
observe a flat zone of high intensity
light located at the top of the right
hand portion of the beam pattern. If
the top edge of the high intensity
light zone is not at the horizontal
reference line, the headlamp will
need to be adjusted.
For vehicles with HID headlamps:
There is a distinct cut-off (change
from light to dark) in the left
portion of the beam pattern. The
top edge of this cut-off should be
positioned two inches (51 mm)
below the horizontal reference line.

Replacing headlamp bulbs
High beam/low beam bulb replacement
For driver side replacement of the high beam/low beam bulbs, do the
following:
1. Make sure the headlamp switch is in the off position, then open the
hood.
2. Reach over the front bolster and remove the rubber bulb access cover
from the headlamp housing.
3. Remove the bulb socket by rotating it counterclockwise, then pull it
straight out of the lamp assembly.
4. Disconnect the electrical connector.
For passenger side replacement of the high beam bulb, see your
authorized dealer.
For passenger side replacement of the low beam bulb, do the
following:
1. Turn the steering wheel all the way to the left.
2. Remove the press pins located in
the wheel well and pull the tire
splash shield back.
3. Reaching through the wheel well, remove the rubber headlamp bulb
access cover.

4. Rotate the headlamp bulb
counterclockwise and remove the
headlamp bulb.
5. Disconnect the electrical connector.
Replacing HID headlamp bulbs (if equipped)
The low beam headlamps on your vehicle use a “high intensity discharge”
source. These lamps operate at a high voltage. When the bulb is burned
out, the bulb and starter capsule assembly must be replaced by your
authorized dealer.
Replacing supplemental park bulbs
1.
Make sure the headlamp switch is in the off position, then open the hood.
2. At the wheel well, remove the
press pins from the splash shield,
then pull the splash shield back to
gain access to the bulbs.
3. Remove the bulb socket by
rotating it counterclockwise, then
pull it out of the lamp assembly.

CTA coverage also decreases when parking at shallow angles (refer to
figure for approximate zone coverage areas[sensor obstructed to
vehicle on left]).
CTA detection limitations:Due to the nature of radar technology,
there may be certain instances where vehicles entering and exiting the
blind spot zones may not be detected. Below is a list of circumstances
that may cause non detection:
•Debris build up on the rear quarter panel fascias
•The rear quarter panel radar beams are obstructed or partially
obstructed by an adjacently parked vehicle or object.
•Approaching vehicles passing at speeds greater than 15 mph
(24 km/h)
•Severe weather conditions
•Driving in reverse faster than 3 mph (5 km/h)
•Backing out of an angled parking spot
CTA False Alerts
Due to the nature of radar technology, there may be certain instances
when the BLISwill alert with no object present when backing up. This
is known as a false alert. Some level of false alerts are normal.
Circumstances that may cause a false alert when backing up are backing
out of a garage, backing in to a parking space, and objects very close to
the sensor. False alerts are temporary and self correct.
