CAUTION
When the vehicle is parked
Do not leave glasses, cigarette lighters, spray cans, or soft drink cans in
the vehicle when it is in the sun.
Doing so may result in the following.
• Gas may leak from a cigarette lighter or spray can, and may lead to a
fire.
• The temperature inside the vehicle may cause the plastic lenses and
plastic material of eye glasses to deform or crack.
• Soft drink cans may fracture, causing the contents to spray over the
interior of the vehicle, and may also cause a short circuit in the vehi-
cle's electrical components.
Always apply the parking brake, shift the shift lever to P, stop the engine
and lock the vehicle.
Do not leave the vehicle unattended while the engine is running.
Do not touch the exhaust pipes or rear bumper exhaust diffusers while the
engine is running or immediately after turning the engine off.
Doing so may cause burns.
Do not leave the engine running in an area with snow build-up, or where it
is snowing. If snowbanks build up around the vehicle while the engine is
running, exhaust gases may collect and enter the vehicle. This may lead to
death or a serious health hazard.
Exhaust gases
Exhaust gases include harmful carbon monoxide (CO) that is colorless and
odorless. Inhaling exhaust gases may lead to death or a serious health haz-
ard.
If the vehicle is in a poorly ventilated area, stop the engine. In a closed
area, such as a garage, exhaust gases may collect and enter the vehicle.
This may lead to death or a serious health hazard.
The exhaust should be checked occasionally. If there is a hole or crack
caused by corrosion, damage to a joint or abnormal exhaust noise, be sure
to have the vehicle inspected and repaired by any authorized Lexus dealer
or repairer, or another duly qualified and equipped professional. Failure to
do so may allow exhaust gases to enter the vehicle, resulting in death or a
serious health hazard.

Power outlet
The power outlet can be used when
The “ENGINE START STOP” switch is in ACCESSORY or IGNITION
ON mode.
NOTICE
To avoid damaging the power outlet
Close the power outlet lid when the power outlet is not in use.
Foreign objects or liquids that enter the power outlet may cause a short cir-
cuit.
To prevent the fuse from being blown
Do not use an accessory that uses more than 12 V 10 A.
To prevent battery discharge
Do not use the power outlet longer than necessary when the engine is not
running.
The power outlet can be used for 12 V accessories that run on less than
10 A.

Aluminum wheels
Remove any dirt immediately by using a neutral detergent. Do not use
hard brushes or abrasive cleaners. Do not use strong or harsh chemical
cleaners.
Use the same mild detergent and wax as used on the paint.
Do not use detergent on the wheels when they are hot, for example after
driving for long distance in the hot weather.
Wash detergent from the wheels immediately after use.
Bumpers
Do not scrub with abrasive cleaners.
CAUTION
When cleaning the windshield
When the upper part of the windshield where the raindrop sensor is
located is touched by hand
When a wet rag or similar is held close to the raindrop sensor
If something bumps against the windshield
If you directly touch the raindrop sensor body or if something bumps into
the raindrop sensor
Exhaust pipes and rear bumper exhaust diffusers
Exhaust gasses cause the exhaust pipes and rear bumper exhaust diffusers to
become quite hot. Therefore, do not touch them while the engine is running
or immediately after turning the engine off.
When washing the vehicle, be careful not to touch the exhaust pipes and rear
bumper exhaust diffusers until they have cooled sufficiently, as touching hot
exhaust pipes and diffusers can cause burns.
Set the wiper switch to off.
If the wiper switch is in “AUTO”, the
wipers may operate unexpectedly in the
following situations, and may result in
hands being caught or other serious inju-
ries and cause damage to the wiper
blades.
