ESP indicator (ElectronicStability Program)
(if equipped)
Type A The ESP indicator will illuminate when
the ignition switch is turned ON, but
should go off after approximately 3 sec-
onds. When the ESP is on, it monitors the
driving conditions and under normal driv-
ing conditions, the ESP light will remain
off. When a slippery or low traction con-dition is encountered, the ESP will oper-
ate, and the ESP indicator will blink to
indicate the ESP is operating.
Type B The ESP indicator will illuminate when
the ignition switch is turned ON, but
should go off after approximately 3 sec-
onds. When the ESP is on, it monitors the
driving conditions. Under normal driving
conditions, the ESP indicator will remain
off. When a slippery or low traction con-dition is encountered, the ESP will oper-
ate, and the ESP indicator will blink to
indicate the ESP is operating. But, if the ESP system malfunctions the
indicator illuminates and stays on. Take
your vehicle to an authorized HYUNDAI
dealer and have the system checked.
CAUTION
Prolonged driving with the EmissionControl System Malfunction
Indicator Light illuminated maycause damage to the emission con-trol systems which could effect dri- vability and/or fuel economy.
CAUTION - Gasoline engine
If the Emission Control SystemMalfunction Indicator Light illumi-nates, potential catalytic converter
damage is possible. This couldresult in loss of engine power. Havethe Engine Control System inspect- ed as soon as possible by an
authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
CAUTION - Diesel engine
If the Emission Control SystemMalfunction Indicator Light flashes, some error related to the injectionquantity adjustment occurs whichcould result in loss of engine
power, combustion noise and pooremission. Have the Engine ControlSystem inspected as soon as pos-sible by an authorized HYUNDAI
dealer.
CAUTION - Diesel engine
with catalyzed particulate filter (if equipped)
If the malfunction indicator light blinking, have the Particulate Filter
System inspected by an authorizedHYUNDAI dealer (before drivingmore than 50 km/31 miles).
ESP
CAUTION - Diesel engine
When the malfunction indicator
light is blinks, it may stop blinkingafter driving the vehicle at morethan 60km/h (37 mph) or at more
than second gear with 1500 ~ 2000engine rpm for a certain time (forabout 25 minutes).
If the malfunction indicator lightcontinues to be blinked in spite of
the procedure, please visit anauthorized HYUNDAI dealer andthen check the DPF system.
If you continue to drive with themalfunction indicator light blinking
for a long time, the DPF system canbe damaged and fuel consumption can be worsen.

Glow indicator (Dieselengine)
The indicator light illuminates when the
ignition switch is placed at the ON posi-
tion. The engine can be started after the
preheat indicator light goes off. The illu-
minating time varies with the water tem-
perature, air temperature and batterycondition.
✽✽ NOTICE
If the engine was not started within 10
seconds after the preheating is complet-
ed, turn the ignition switch once more to
the LOCK position during 10 seconds,
and then to the ON position, in order to
preheat again.
D150329AEN
Fuel filter warning light (Diesel engine)
This warning light illuminates for 3 sec-
onds after the ignition switch is set to the
ON position and then it will go out. If it
lights up while the engine is running, it
indicates that water has accumulated
inside the fuel filter. If this happens,
remove the water from the fuel filter. For
more information, refer to “Fuel filter” insection 7. D150330AEN
Overspeed warning
(if equipped)
Overspeed warning light
If you drive with the speed of 120 km/h or
more, the overspeed warning light will
blink. This is to prevent you from driving
your vehicle with overspeed.
Overspeed warning chime
If you drive with the speed of 120 km/h or
more, the overspeed warning chime will
sound for about 5 seconds. This is to pre-
vent you from driving your vehicle with
overspeed.
CAUTION
When the fuel filter warning light is illuminated, engine power (vehiclespeed & idle speed) may decrease.
If you keep driving with the warning light on, you can damage your vehi-cle's engine parts and injection sys-tem of the Common Rail. If this
occurs, have your vehicle checkedby an authorized HYUNDAI dealeras soon as possible.
120km/h
CAUTION
If the preheat indicator light contin-
ues to illuminate or flash on and offafter the engine has warmed up orwhile driving, check the system byan authorized HYUNDAI dealer as
soon as possible.
