Conversation mirror (if equipped)
The mirror is a convenient feature to help the front passenger talk with rear pas-
sengers without turning the head or body
rearward.
To use the mirror, push the cover and open it. Adjust mirror angle to the desired posi- tion.

Outside rearview mirror
Be sure to adjust mirror angles before
driving.
Your vehicle is equipped with both left-
hand and right-hand outside rearview
mirrors. The mirrors can be adjusted
remotely with the remote switch. The mir-
ror heads can be folded back to prevent
damage during an automatic car wash or
when passing in a narrow street.
WARNING
Do not adjust the mirror angle or
talk with rear passengers for a long
time while driving. You may lose
your steering control and cause an
accident that results in severe per-
sonal injury or death.

Remote control
The electric remote control mirror switch
allows you to adjust the position of the
left and right outside rearview mirrors. To
adjust the position of either mirror, push
the switch (1) to R or L to select the right
side mirror or the left side mirror, thenpress a corresponding point on the mirroradjustment control to position the select-
ed mirror up, down, left or right.
After adjustment, put the switch into neu-
tral (center) position to prevent the inad-
vertent adjustment.
WARNING - Rearview mir-
rors
The right outside rearview mirror is convex. In some countries, the
left outside rearview mirror is
also convex. Objects seen in the
mirror are closer than they
appear.
Use your interior rearview mirror or direct observation to deter-
mine the actual distance of fol-
lowing vehicles when changinglanes.
CAUTION
Do not scrape ice off the mirror
face; this may damage the surface of the glass. If ice should restrict
movement of the mirror, do notforce the mirror for adjustment. Toremove ice, use a deicer spray, or asponge or soft cloth with very warm
water.
CAUTION
If the mirror is jammed with ice, donot adjust the mirror by force. Use
an approved spray de-icer (not radi-ator antifreeze) to release thefrozen mechanism or move the vehicle to a warm place and allow
the ice to melt.
WARNING
Do not adjust or fold the outside
rearview mirrors while the vehicle
is moving. This could result in loss
of control, and an accident which
could cause death, serious injury

Folding the outside rearview mirror
Manual type
To fold the outside rearview mirror, grasp
the housing of the mirror and then fold it
toward the rear of the vehicle. Electric Type
To fold the outside rearview mirror,
depress the button.
To unfold it, depress the button again.
The ignition switch must be in the ACC or
ON position for the electric outside
rearview mirrors to fold. (if equipped)
The electric folding outside rearview mir-
ror can be operated for approximately 30
seconds after the ignition key is removed
or turned to the LOCK position.
CAUTION
The mirrors stop moving when
they reach the maximum adjust-
ing angles, but the motor contin-ues to operate while the switch isdepressed. Do not depress the switch longer than necessary, the
motor may be damaged.
Do not attempt to adjust the out- side rearview mirror by hand.Doing so may damage the parts.

CAUTION
In case of the electric type of out-side rearview mirror, don’t fold it by
hand. It could cause the failure of the motor.

REARVIEW CAMERA (IF EQUIPPED)

Rearview camera will activate when the
back-up light is ON with the ignition
switch ON and the shift lever in the Rposition. This system is a supplemental system
that shows behind the vehicle through
the AV monitor while backing-up. D180000AUN
The hazard warning flasher should be
used whenever you find it necessary tostop the car in a hazardous location.
When you must make such an emer-
gency stop, always pull off the road as far
as possible.
The hazard warning lights are turned on
by pushing in the hazard switch. This
causes all turn signal lights to blink. The
hazard warning lights will operate even
though the key is not in the ignition
switch.
To turn the hazard warning lights off,
push the switch a second time.
WARNING
This system is a supplementary function only. It is the responsi-
bility of the driver to always
check the inside/outside rearview
mirror and the area behind the
vehicle before and while backingup because there is a dead zone
that can't see through the cam-era.
Always keep the camera lens clean. If lens is covered with for-
eign matter, the camera may not
operate normally.

The door courtesy lamp comes ON when
the door is opened to assist entering or
exiting the vehicle. It also serves as a

glove box is opened.
The parking lights or headlights must be
ON for the glove box lamp to function.

Rear window defroster
The defroster heats the window to
remove frost, fog and thin ice from the
rear window, while the engine is running. To activate the rear window defroster,
press the rear window defroster button
located in the center facia switch panel.
The indicator on the rear window
defroster button illuminates when thedefroster is ON.
If there is heavy accumulation of snow on
the rear window, brush it off before oper-
ating the rear defroster.
The rear window defroster automatically
turns off after approximately 20 minutes
or when the ignition switch is turned off.
To turn off the defroster, press the rear

Outside rearview mirror defroster
(if equipped)
If your vehicle is equipped with the out-
side rearview mirror defrosters, they will
operate at the same time you turn on the

Front windshield deicer (if equipped)
If your vehicle is equipped with the front
windshield deicer, it will be operating at
the same time you operate the rear win-
dow defroster.
CAUTION
To prevent damage to the conduc- tors bonded to the inside surface ofthe rear window, never use sharp
instruments or window cleanerscontaining abrasives to clean thewindow.

perature control to the extreme
right/hot position and the fan speedcontrol to the highest speed.
If warm air to the floor is desired while defrosting or defogging, set the modeto the floor-defrost position.
Before driving, clear all snow and ice from the windshield, rear window, out-
side rear view mirrors, and all side win-
dows.
Clear all snow and ice from the hood and air inlet in the cowl grill to improveheater and defroster efficiency and to

To defog inside windshield
1. Select any fan speed except “OFF”
position.
2. Select desired temperature.
3. Select the or position.
4. The outside (fresh) air and air condi- tioning will be selected automatically.
If the air conditioning and outside (fresh) air position are not selected automatical-
ly, press the corresponding button manu-
ally.
If the position is selected, lower fan
speed is adjusted to a higher fan speed.
WINDSHIELD DEFROSTING AND DEFOGGING

ference between the temperature ofthe outside air and that of the wind-shield could cause the outer sur-
