This indicator comes on when the
washer f luid level is low. Add washer
f luid when you see this indicator
come on (see page ).
You will also see a ‘‘WASHER
FLUID LOW’’ message on the multi-
inf ormation display (see page ).This indicator is in the f uel gauge. It
comesonasareminderthatyou
must ref uel soon.
When the indicator comes on, there
are about 3.0 US gal (11.4
)of fuel
remaining in the tank.
When the needle reaches E, there is
a very small amount of f uel in the
tank. You will also see a ‘‘FUEL LOW’’
message on the multi-information
display (see page ).
This indicator comes on f or a f ew
seconds when you turn the ignition
switch to the ON (II) position. If it
comes on at any other time, there is
a problem in the power tailgate
system. Have the system checked by
your dealer as soon as possible. You
can still open or close the tailgate
manually. For more inf ormation on
the power tailgate, see page .
You will also see a ‘‘CHECK POWER
TAILGATE SYSTEM’’ message on
the multi-information display.

When either of the trip meters (trip
A or B) is displayed, your vehicle’s
average f uel economy since you last
resetthattripmetercanbeshown
on the inf ormation display (mpg on
U.S. models and l/100 km on
Canadian models). This number is
updated once per 10 seconds. To see
the average f uel economy, press and
release the select/reset knob
repeatedly.
When you reset a trip meter, the
average f uel economy f or that trip
meter also resets.This display shows the estimated
distance you can travel on the fuel
remaining in the tank.
This distance is estimated f rom the
f uel economy you have achieved
over the last f ew miles (kilometers),
so it will vary with changes in speed,
traffic condition, etc.
This display shows the instant f uel
economy you are getting.
It shows the number of mpg (U.S.)
or l/100 km (Canada).

This shows your vehicle’s average
f uel economy in mpg (U.S. models)

you last reset Trip A or Trip B.
You can customize the Trip A and
AVERAGE FUEL A reset condition
on the multi-information display (see
page ). This shows the estimated distance
you can travel on the fuel remaining
in the f uel tank. This distance is
estimated f rom the f uel economy
you received over the last several
miles (U.S.) or kilometers (Canada),
so it will vary with changes in speed,
traf f ic, etc.

Stop f illing the tank af ter the f uel
nozzle automatically clicks of f . Do
not try to ‘‘top of f ’’ the tank. This
leaves some room in the f uel tank
f or the f uel to expand with
temperature changes.
If thefuelnozzlekeepsclickingoff
even though the tank is not f ull,
there may be a problem with your
vehicle’s fuel vapor recovery system.
The system helps keep f uel vapor
f rom going into the atmosphere. Try
f illing at another pump. If this does
not f ix the problem, consult your
dealer.
Remove the f uel f ill cap slowly.
You may hear a hissing sound as
pressure inside the tank escapes.
The fuel fill cap is attached to the
f uel f iller with a tether. Insert the
attachment on the f uel f ill cap into
the slit on the f uel f ill door.
Bef ore opening the f uel f ill door,
make sure the rear sliding door on
the driver’s side is closed.
Open the f uel f ill door by pulling
on the handle under the lower lef t
corner of the dashboard.

when handling fuel.
Stop the engine, and keep
heat, sparks, and flame away.
Handle fuel only outdoors.
Wipe up spills immediately.

Reset trip counter to zero.
Record the total gallons (liters) needed to ref ill.
Follow one of the simple calculations above.
Direct calculation is the
recommended source of inf ormation
about your actual f uel economy.
Using f requency of f ill-ups or taking
f uel gauge readings are NOT
accurate measures of f uel economy.
Fuel economy may improve over the
f irst several thousand miles
(kilometers). The A/C
puts an extra load on the engine
which makes it use more f uel. Use
the f resh-air ventilation when
possible.
Combine several short trips into
one. A warmed-up engine is more
f uel ef f icient than a cold one.
