Security System Security Alarm System
Setting the Security Alarm System
■
The security alarm system automatically sets when the following conditions have been met:
The ignition switch is in LOCK
•
0, and the key has been removed from the
ignition switch. The hood is closed.

Both doors and the hatch are locked.

When the Security Alarm System Sets
■
The security system indicator in the instrument panel blinks. When the blinking interval changes after about 15 seconds, the security alarm system is set.
To Cancel the Security Alarm System
■
The security alarm system is canceled when the vehicle is unlocked using the key or remote transmitter. The security system indicator goes off at the same time.
Security Alarm System
Do not set the security alarm system when someone is in the vehicle or a window is open. The system can accidentally activate when unlocking the door with the lock tab or the master door lock switch. If the 12 volt battery goes dead after you have set the security alarm system, the security alarm may go off once the battery is recharged or replaced.If this occurs, deactivate the security alarm system by unlocking a door using the key or remote transmitter. Do not attempt to alter this system or add another device to it.

The auto-reverse function stops sensing when the window is almost closed to ensure that it fully closes. The power windows can be operated for up to 10 minutes after you turn the ignition switch off.Opening either door cancels this function. Auto Reverse If a power window senses resistance when closing automatically, it will stop closing, and reverse direction. The driver’s window auto reverse function is disabled when you continuously pull up the switch.
WARNING
Closing a power window on someone’s hands or fingers can cause serious injury. Make sure your passenger is away from the window before closing it.
The power windows can be opened and closed when the ignition switch is in ON
II, using the switches on the doors. The driver side switch can be used to open and
close both windows. The main switch on the driver side must be switched off (not pushed in) to open and close the passenger’s window from the passenger side. When the main switch is turned on (pushed in), you can only operate the passenger’s window from the driver’s seat. Turn the main switch on if a child rides in the passenger’s seat.

To open: Push the switch down firmly.
To close: Pull the switch up firmly.
The window opens or closes completely. To stop the window at any time, push or pull the switch briefly.
Manual Operation

To open: Push the switch down lightly.
To close: Pull the switch up lightly.
Release the switch when the window reaches the desired position.

You cannot take the key out unless the shift lever is

On all models If you open the driver's door when the key is in LOCK or ACCESSORY , a warning buzzer will
sound to remind you to take the key out. If the key won't turn from LOCK
to ACCESSORY , turn the key while moving the steering wheel
left and right. The steering wheel will unlock, allowing the key to turn.
WARNING
Removing the key from the ignition switch locks the steering. If you do this while the vehicle is in motion, you can lose control of the vehicle. Only remove the key from the ignition switch when parked.

Repeatedly turning the headlights on and off reduces the life of the HID headlight bulbs.If you sense that the level of the headlights is abnormal, have the vehicle inspected by a dealer. Do not leave the lights on when the engine is off because it will cause the battery to discharge.

We recommend that you turn on the lights manually when driving at night, in a dense fog, or in dark areas such as long tunnels or parking facilities. The light sensor is in the location shown below. Do not cover this light sensor with anything; otherwise, the automatic lighting system may not work properly. You can change the AUTO light sensitivity using the multi-information display.

Wipers and Washers
If the vehicle speeds up while the wipers are operating intermittently, the interval decreases by about four seconds. Also, when the vehicle starts moving, the wipers make a single sweep. In the shortest delay setting (
), the wipers
change to low speed operation when the vehicle speed exceeds 12 mph (20 km/h).
NOTICE Do not use the wipers when the windshield is dry. The windshield will get scratched, or the rubber blades will get damaged. Turn the washers off if no washer luid comes out. The pump may get damaged.
NOTICE In cold weather, the blades may freeze to the windshield, becoming stuck.Operating the wipers in this condition may damage the wipers. Use the defroster to warm the windshield, then turn the wipers on.

Wipers and Washers
If the wiper stops operating due to any obstacle such as the build-up of snow, park the vehicle in a safe place. Rotate the wiper switch to OFF, and turn the ignition switch to ACCESSORY
or LOCK ,
then remove the obstacle. The wiper motor is equipped with a breaker that may stop motor operation temporarily to prevent an overload. Wiper operation will return to normal within a few minutes, once the circuit has returned to normal.
