This command group allows you to change or customize HFL basic settings.
To Set a Four-digit Passcode to Lock the HFL System for Security

Say “System Setup.”

Say “Security.”
2.
Follow the HFL prompts and say the four-digit number of your choice.

Follow the HFL prompts and confirm the number.

To Change the Security Passcode

Say “System Setup.”
1.
Say “Change Passcode” after the prompts.

Say the new four-digit passcode after the HFL prompts.

To Select a Ring Tone or a Prompt as the Incoming Call Notification

Press the

Once a passcode is set, you are required to enter the passcode with every new key cycle to use HFL.If you forget the code, go to your dealer to have the passcode reset. You can also cancel the passcode by clearing all the data stored in the HFL system.

Maintenance Minder™
Resetting the Display

Reset the engine oil life display if you have performed the maintenance service.
Turn the ignition switch to ON

Display the engine oil life by repeatedly pressing the

button.
Press and hold the SEL/RESET button for 10 seconds or more.

The oil life reset mode is displayed on the multi-information display.
Select “RESET” with the

button, then press the SEL/RESET button.
The service code will disappear and the engine oil life display will return to
100 %.
To cancel the oil life reset mode, select “CANCEL”, then press the SEL/RESET button.
Resetting the Display
NOTICE Failure to reset the engine oil life after a maintenance service results in the system showing incorrect maintenance intervals, which can lead to serious mechanical problems. The dealer will reset the engine oil life display after completing the required maintenance service.If someone other than a dealer performs
maintenance service, reset the engine oil life disp lay
yourself.

12 Volt Battery
Checking the 12 Volt Battery
Check the battery condition monthly. Look at the test indicator window and check the terminals for corrosion.
If your vehicle’s battery is disconnected or goes dead: The audio system is disabled.

Charging the 12 Volt Battery Disconnect both battery cables to prevent damaging your vehicle’s electrical system. Always disconnect the negative (–) cable first, and reconnect it last.
Test Indicator Window 12 Volt Battery
WARNING: Battery posts, terminals, and
related accessories contain lead and lead compounds.Wash your hands after handling. The test indicator's color information is on the battery. When you ind corrosion, clean the battery terminals by applying a baking powder and water solution. Rinse the terminals with water. Cloth/towel dry the battery. Coat the terminals with grease to help prevent future corrosion. If the 12 volt battery is disconnected or goes dead, the IMA battery level gauge reading may show less than the actual level the next time you turn the ignition switch to ON
. It will show the correct
level after you drive for about 30 minutes.
WARNING
The battery gives off explosive hydrogen gas during normal operation. A spark or flame can cause the battery to explode with enough force to kill or seriously hurt you. Wear protective clothing and a face shield, or have a skilled technician do any battery maintenance.
