Reta ining p ins are located on the lo ng en ds of the wind
deflector . They secure the deflector in the mounts on the
vehicle's rear s ide trim . For safety reasons, inserting the win d
deflector from the side farthest from traff ic.
Inserting and positioning the wind deflector
- Open th e rear side wi ndow on the side fa rt hes t from
t raffic.
- Read the assembly instructions on the wind deflector
storage bag.
- Remove the wind deflector from the storage bag a nd fold
i t apart
once . The wind deflector is installed in the correct
position when the longest side is toward the front and the
wind deflector fra me is at the top .
- Insert both retaining pins in the mounts in the t rim above
the rear seat on the driver side=>
page 55, fig . 49 (D .
- Fold the handle @ at the front and center of the w ind
deflector upward and lift the deflector slig htly in the
center => fig. 50

- Set t he w ind deflector up completely .
Removing the wind deflector
-Fold the w ind deflector frame bac k.
- Fold the handle=>
page 55, fig. 49 @ at the front and
center of the wind deflector upward and lift the deflector
slightly in the center .
- Remove the win d deflector fro m the mounts in the si de
tr im on the passenger side .
- Pull the wind de flector out of the moun ts on the driver
side and lift it out.
- Fold it toget her .
- Store the wind deflector in the storage bag.

• Do not u se the wind deflector t o se cure cargo .
• Be ca refu l when installing so you do not pinch your fingers.
• Pay attenti on to the traffi c when in stalling the wind defle ctor ,
i f necessary.

Do not lean against the vehicle when install ing the wind deflector .
H ar d obje cts and decorations on clo thing such as belt buckles can
scratch the paint . Your clothing could also become dirty . _,,,

• The w ind deflecto r wo rks best when all of the windows are ro lled
up while driving.
• Only store the w ind deflector in the sto rage bag when it is dry .•
Power top emergency operation
General information
The power top can be closed by hand if there is a malfunc ­
tion.
- Activate the parking brake.
- Open t he wi ndows
- Remove the key from the ignition.
Only close the power top manually in an emergency . T he best solut ion
is to have yo ur authorized Audi dealer cor rect the ca use of the
malfunctio n.
Power top emergency operation consists of the fo llowi ng steps:
• Unlocking the power top compartment cover : The cover on the
power top compartment must be released by hand .
• Closing the power top : The power top must be lifted o ut of the
tray and closed.
• Locking the power top : The power to p latches m ust be locked
with the emergency key.
& WARNING
• When position ing the power top , avoid conta ct with the
s upports or other moving parts . Make sure all of the window s are
lowered . Otherwise you could pinch your hands.

• Never drive when the power top is not lo cked co rrectly. The
wind from driv ing could cau se the power top to open. This can
re sult in injuries and damage to the vehicle.
[ i ] Tips
Have a second person assist when closing the power top. Positioning
t he power top is easier when there is a se cond person to help. •
Step 1: Unlocking the power top
compartment cover
The release lever for the power top c ompartment is
located under the trim in the luggage compartment.

-Remove the cap on the trim.

- Insert the emergency key in the opening (hex socket).
- Turn the release key counterclockwise until it stops to
open the latch .

Do not pinch yourself or others when closing the power top
compartment. •
Step 7: Locking the power top
The locking system for the power top latches are located
on the inside of the power top.

- Insert the emergency key in the opening and turn it clock­
wise until it stops to lock the power top.
- Remove the emergency key.
- Cover the opening with the cap.

Step 8: Loosening the headliner

Perform the following steps in the rear window area of the
power top on each side.
- Pull the loops (marked in yellow) with the emergency key
to loosen the headliner.
- Pull at the yellow marking again to loosen the headliner
around the rear window (approximately 30 cm).

- Push the lever forward to switch on the high beam.
- Pull the lever back towards you to switch off the high
beam.

- Pull the lever toward the steering whee l to use the head­
light flasher.

• The turn signals only work with the ignit ion turned on. The indi­
cato r lights ¢ or¢ in the instrument cluster also blink.
• After you have turned a corner, the turn signal switches off auto­
matically.
• The
high beam works only when the headlights are on. The indi­
cator light ~D in the instrument cluster illuminates when the high
beams are on.
• T he
headlight flasher works only as long as you hold the lever -
even if there are no lights switched on. The indicator light ~Din the
instrument cluster illuminates when you use the headlight flasher.

Do not use the high beam or headlight flasher in if you know that
these could be blinding oncoming traffic.•
Interior lights
Interior lights
The interior lights include the reading lights for the driver
and the front passenger .

- Press the button@. The LED in the button illuminates .
Deactivating door contact circuit
-Press the button@. The LED in the button goes out .
Front reading Lights ~
- Press one of the switches @ to turn the right or le ft
reading light on or off .
With the door contact circu it, the inte rior lights turn on as soon as
you un lock the vehicle or open the doors. The interior lights are also
tu rned on when the ignit ion key is removed. The lights turn off about
30 seconds after the doors are closed. When the vehicle is locked or
when the ignition is tu rned on, the interior lights are turned off.
When a door is open, the interior lights are turned off after about 10
min utes to prevent battery draining. _,.

- Select: Function button I CAR]> Windshield wipers >
Service position.
• On -chang ing the w indshield w ipe r blades can on ly be done if you
bring the wiper arms to the service position=>

wi ll also avoid pa int damage to the hood when working on the w ipers
in this position.

Never ma neuve r yo ur vehicle with the front w indshield wipe r arms
ra ised since they will automatically be moved back to their basic posi­
t ion above a speed of 3 mp h (6 km/h) and can scratch the hood.

protect the w indshield from icing by using a cover.

Seats and storage Folding down the front seatbacks
- Lift the latch=> page 79, fig. 83.
- Tilt the seatbac k forward.
Moving the front seats forward
-Press and hold the switch@ until the seat has reached the
desired position.
Moving front seats back
- Press and hold the switch @ until the seat has reached the
des ired position. The seat stops automatically when it has
reached its starting position again .
To make it easier to enter and leave the rear seat, the seatbacks of the
front seats can be folded forward and the head restraints are auto ­
matically lowered. At the same time, the front seats can be moved
forward and back.
When the front seats a re moved forward, their orig inal position is
stored . When it is moved back, the seat automatically stops in this
posit ion. To move the seat even further back, you have to release the
switch @ and reactivate it.
T he head rest raints from the front seats, depending on the seat
height that has been set, are automatically retracted when the seat­
backs are folded down. They return to their original position again
when the seatbacks for the front seats are ra ised .
(I) Tips
With the driver's or passenger's door closed, the corresponding
switch to move the seat is inoperative.•

Memory for driver's seat
The seat adjustment settings for two drivers can be
stored using the memory buttons in the driver's door .

In addition to the setting for the driver's seat, the exterior rear view
mirror setting ca n be stored and reca lled through seat memory if the
vehicle is properly equipped.
Storing and recalling settings
With the help of the memory buttons 1 and 2 ~ fig. 84 the settings
for two different drivers can be stored and recalled~
page 81.
The current settings are also automatically stored on the remote
control key being used when the vehicle is locked. When the vehicle is
unlocked, the settings stored on the remote contro l key being used
are automatically recalled.
Turning seat memory on and off
If the [ ON/OFF] switch is depressed , the seat memory is inoperative.
The word
OFF in the [ ON/OFF] sw itch illuminates .
All the stored settings are retained. We recommend using the
I ON/OFF] switch and deact ivating the seat memory if the vehicle is .,

only going to be used temporarily by a driver whose settings are not
going to be stored. •

Storing and recalling settings
Before you can store or recall your settings, the [ ON/OFF]
switch on the seat memory must be engaged (not raised).
Storing settings
- Adjust the driver's seat.
- Adjust the two exterior mirrors .
- Press the
I SETI button and hold it down. In addition, press
one of the memory buttons for at least one second .
- Release the buttons. The settings are now stored under
the corr esponding memory button .
Recalling settings
- If the driver's door is open, tap the corresponding memory
button briefly .
- If the driver's door is closed , press the appropriate
memory button unt il the stored position is reached .
Successful storage is confirmed audibly and by the light in the [SET)
button illuminat ing=> page 80, fig . 84.
When the vehicle is
loc ked , the current settings are stored and
ass igned to the remote contro l key. B ut the setti ngs sto red on
memory buttons 1 to 2 are not deleted. They can be reca lled at any
time. When the vehicle is
unlo ck ed , the settings stored on the
remote control key are restored.
If your vehicle is driven by other persons using your remote control
key , you should save your individua l seat position on one of the

memory buttons. You can recall your settings again simply and
conveniently by press ing the cor responding memory button. When
the vehicle is locked, these settings are automatically re-assigned to
the remote control key and stored.

Activating remote control key memory
To be able to recall the stored settings with the remote
control key, the function has to be activated in the radio
or in the MM!*.
