& WARNING
Improper refueling or handling of fuel can cause fire, explosion
and severe burns.
• Fuel is highly flammable and can cause severe burns and other
injuries.
• Failure to shut the engine off while refueling and/or to insert
the pump nozzle fully into the fuel filler neck could cause fuel to
spray out of filler neck or to overflow. Fuel spray and overflowing
fuel can cause a fire.
• Never use a cellular telephone while refueling. The electromag­
netic radiation can cause sparks that can ignite fuel vapors and
cause a fire.
• Never get back into your vehicle while refueling. If in excep­
tional circumstances you must get back in your vehicle while refu­
eling, make certain that you close the door and touch metal to
discharge static electr icity before touching the filler nozzle again .
Static electricity can cause sparks that can ignite fuel vapors
released during refueling.
• Never smoke o r have an open flame anywhere in or near your
vehicle when refueling or filling a portable fuel container.
• For your safety , we strongly recommend that you do not travel
with a portable fuel container in your vehicle. The container, full or empty may leak and could cause a fire, especially in a crash.
• If, under except ional circumstances, you must transport a
portable fuel container , please obser ve the following:
- Never fill a portable fuel container while it is anywhere in or
on the vehicle (for example, in the luggage compartment, or
on the trunk ). Static electricity can build up while filling and
can ignite fuel vapors causing a fire.
- Always place a portable fuel container on the ground before
filling.

-Alw ays keep the filler nozzle completely inside the portable
container before and during filling.
- If filling a portable container made of metal, the filler nozzle
must always be in contact with the container . Th is will help
prevent static electricity from discharging and cause a fire.
- Never spill fuel inside the veh icle or luggage compartment .
Fuel vapors are highly flammable.
- Always observe local and state/provincial laws regarding the
use, storage and transportation of fuel containers.
- Make certain the fuel containe r meets industry standards
(ANSI/ ASTM F8S2-86).

If any f uel has spilled onto the ca r, it should be remove d immed iate ly
to prevent damage to the paint.
As soon as the co rrectly operated nozzle switches off a utomat ica lly
for t he firs t time, the tan k is full. Do no t try to ad d mo re fuel because
fue l may spill ou t. In addi tion, the ex pansion space in the fuel tank
will be fi lled - causing the fue l to overf low w hen it becomes warm and
poll ute the enviro nmen t.
(I] Tips
• Runn ing your engi ne while re fuelling may c ause vapors to es cape
or even cause f uel to spill out of t he tank. This would then shut off the
fue l no zzle before the tank is full.
• Do not ref ue l your veh icle with t he ignit io n turned on . T he fuel
gauge may o therwise no t ind ica te t he correct f ue l level af ter refuel-

riz ed Audi dealer replace any bulbs for you .
It is becoming increasing ly mo re and more d ifficult to replace vehicle
light bulbs since in many cases, other parts of the car must f irst be
removed before yo u are ab le to get to the bu lb. This app lies especially
to the light bulbs in the front of your car which you can only reac h
t hrough the eng ine comp artment.
Sheet metal and bu lb holders can have sharp edges that can cause
serious c uts, parts must be correctly taken apart and then properly
put back together to he lp prevent breakage of parts and long term
damage from water t hat can enter housings that have not been prop­
erly resea led.
For your safety, we recommend that you have your authorized Audi
dealer replace a ny bu lbs for yo u, since yo ur dealer has the proper
too ls, t he cor rect bu lbs and the expertise.
Gas discharge lamps (Xenon lights)*:

Due to the high electrical voltage, have the bulbs replaced by a qua l­
ified techn ici an . Hea dligh ts w ith Xenon light are i dent ified by t he
hig h voltage sticker.
& WARNING
Changing Xenon lamps without the necessa ry equipment can
c aus e seriou s personal injury.
• Bulbs are pressurized and can e xplode when being changed.
Potential risk of injury!
• On veh icle s equipped with gas discharge bulbs (Xenon light)*
life-threatening injuries can result from improper handling of the
high- voltage portions of such lamps!
• Only your authorized Audi dealer or a qualified workshop
should change the bulbs in gas discharge lamps. There are parts
with sharp edges on th e openings and on the bulb holder s that can
cause serious cuts. If you are uncertain about what to do , have the
work performed by an authorized Audi dealer or other qualified
workshop . Serious personal injury m ay result from improperly
performed work.

• Always remove the ign ition key before anyone gets under the
vehicle.
• Alway s support your vehicle with safety stands if it is nece ssary
to work underneath the vehicle . The jack supplied with the veh icle
is not adequate fo r thi s purpose and could collap se causing
serious personal injury.
• If you must work underneath the vehicle with the wheels on
the ground, always make sure the vehicle is on level ground, that
the wheels are always securely blocked and that the engine cannot
be started.
• Always make sure the transmi ssion selector lever (automatic
transmi ssion) is in "P " (Park po sition ) and the park brake is firmly
applied.
