■Triggering of the alarm
The alarm may be triggered in the following situations.
(Stopping the alarm deactivates the alarm system.)
● A person inside the vehicle opens a door or hood.
● The battery is recharged or replaced when the vehicle is locked.
■ Panic mode
When is pressed for longer than
about one second, the headlights/tail
lights/emergency flashers will flash, the
front and rear interior lights will come on,
and an alarm will sound for about 60 sec-
onds to deter any person from trying to
break into or damage your vehicle.
To stop the alarm, press any button on
the wireless remote control.

Interior lights list
Your Toyota is equipped with an illuminated entry system to assist in
entering the vehicle. Owing to the function of the system, the lights
shown in the following illustration automatically turn on/off accord-
ing to the presence of the electr onic key, whether the doors are
locked/unlocked, whether the door s are opened/closed, and the
“ENGINE START STOP” switch mode.

■To prevent the battery from being discharged
If the interior lights and “ENGINE START STOP” switch light remain on when
the door is not fully closed and the interior light switch is in the door position,
the lights will go off automatically after 20 minutes.
