ignition key and with the CODE card
which bears the following:

Bthe mechanical key code to be given
to the Fiat Dealership when ord-
ering duplicate keys.
Make sure you have the electronic code

IMPORTANT In order to ensure perfect
efficiency of the electronic devices con-
tained inside the keys, they should never
be exposed to direct sunlight.
All the keys and the CODE
card must be handed over to
the new owner when selling
the car.

The system may recognise up to 8 remote
controls. Should a new remote control be
necessary, contact a Fiat Dealership,
taki ng with you the CODE card , a per-
sonal identity document and the car’s
ownership documents.
Button is used for opening the doors
and the tailgate.
Button is used for locking the doors and
the tailgate.
Button
(present in some versions on-
ly) is used for remote opening of the tail-
gate.
The passenger’s compartment lights will
come on for a preset time when the doors
are unlocked.
Only press button B with the
key away from your body ,
specifically from your eyes and from
objects which could get damaged (e.g.
your clothes). Do not leave the key
unattended to avoid the button from
being accidentally pressed while it is
being handled, e.g. by a child.

BOOT
OPENING THE BOOT
The boot lock may be released from
the
outside of the car by pressing on the
remote control (where provided) or by
inserting and turning the metallic insert of
the key in the boot lock anticlockwise
as
shown in fig. 74/a. The boot lock can be
released from inside the vehicle
operating
on lever A-fig.73 located on driver side
seat or pressing push-button (where pro-
vided)

To close the boot, lower it onto the lock
until you hear it click. In emergency con-
ditions (if either the remote control or car
battery is flat),
release the boot lock by
turn the key in clockwise.

Do not fit additional objects
onto the rear window shelf or
tailgate (speakers, spoilers,
etc .) except when contem-
plated by the manufacturer to ensure
the correct operation of the side gas
shock absorbers of the tailgate itself.
Never exceed the maximum
allowed load in the boot (see
“Technical Specifications”). Make
sure that the objects are well
arranged in the boot so that they will
not be projected forwards following
sudden braking.

Never travel with objects on
the rear window shelf: they
can cause injury to passengers in
the event of an accident or sudden
braking.

On certain versions the warn-
ing ligh t turns on when one or more
doors or the tailgate are not properly
shut.
On certain versions the dedicated message
is displayed.
A buzzer will sound when doors/tailgate
are open and the car is moving.EBD FAILURE

Warning lights and lit at the same
time with the engine running indicates an
EBD system failure or that the system is
not available.
Early locking of the rear
wheels may occur in the event of violent
braking causing the car to swerve.
Drive
very carefully to a Fiat Dealership to
have the system inspected.
On certain versions
the dedicated message
is displayed.
SEAT BELTS NOT
FA S T E N E D
(red)
The warning light on the display
will light up when the car is moving and the
driver’s seat belt is not correctly fastened.
The warning light will blink and a buzzer will
sound if the front seat belts are not cor-
rectly fastened. The buzzer of the S.B.R.
(Seat Belt Reminder) system may
only be
switched off by a Fiat Dealership. On
some versions the system may be reac-
tivated from the setup menu.

To change a wheel proceed as
follows:
stop the car in a position so that it is
not a danger for on-coming traffic and
where you can replace the wheel safe-
ly. The ground must be flat and com-
pact;
stop the engine off and pull up the hand-
brake;
engage first gear or reverse;
wear the reflecting safety jacket (com-
pulsory by law in certain countries) be-
fore getting out of the car;
open the tailgate and lift the mat;
loosen the fastener A;
take out the tool box Cand take it near
to the wheel to be changed;
take the spare wheel B;
