Initial Drive Information
This section provides a brief overview about some of
the important features that may or may not be on your
specific vehicle.
For more detailed information, refer to each of the
features which can be found later in this owner manual.
Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) System
The RKE transmitter is used to remotely lock and
unlock the doors from up to 60 m (195 feet) away from
the vehicle.
PressKto unlock the
driver door. Press again
within five seconds to
unlock all remaining
doors. Press
Qto lock all doors.
Lock and unlock feedback can be personalized.
Press and hold
Vfor approximately one second to
open the trunk.
Press
Land release to locate the vehicle.
Press
Land hold for more than two seconds to sound
the panic alarm.
Press
Lagain to cancel the panic alarm.

Remote Vehicle Start
With this feature the engine can be started from outside
of the vehicle.
Starting the Vehicle
1. Aim the RKE transmitter at the vehicle.
2. Press
Q.
3. Immediately after completing Step 2, press and hold
/until the turn signal lamps flash.

When the vehicle starts, the parking lamps will turn on
and remain on as long as the engine is running. The
doors will be locked and the climate control system may
come on.
The engine will continue to run for 10 minutes. Repeat
the steps for a 10-minute time extension. Remote start
can be extended only once.
Canceling a Remote Start
To cancel a remote start:
.Aim the RKE transmitter at the vehicle and press
and hold
/until the parking lamps turn off.
.Turn on the hazard warning flashers.
.Turn the ignition on and then back off.

Door Locks
From the outside, unlock the door using either the key
or the RKE transmitter.
From the inside, use the power door lock switches or
manual lock knobs located at the top of the door panel
near the window.
Power Door Locks
On vehicles with power door locks, the switches are
located on the front doors.
"(Unlock): Press to unlock the doors.
Q(Lock):Remove the key from the ignition and press
to lock the doors.

Trunk Release
In addition to the trunk release button on the RKE
transmitter, there is a remote release
Vbutton
located to the left of the steering wheel, next to the
instrument panel brightness control. Press to open the
trunk.

Q(Lock):Press to lock all the doors. If enabled
through the Driver Information Center (DIC), the parking
lamps flash once to indicate locking has occurred.
If enabled through the DIC, the horn chirps when
Qis
pressed again within five seconds. See DIC Vehicle
Customization
on page 4‑65for additional information.
Pressing
Qmay arm the content theft‐deterrent system.
See Content Theft-Deterrent on page 3‑16.
"(Unlock): Press once to unlock the driver door. If"is
pressed again within five seconds, all remaining doors
unlock. The interior lamps come on and stay on for
20 seconds or until the ignition is turned on. If enabled
through the DIC, the parking lamps flash twice to
indicate unlocking has occurred. See DIC Vehicle
Customization
on page 4‑65.
Pressing
"on the RKE transmitter disarms the content
theft‐deterrent system. See Content Theft-Deterrent
on
page 3‑16.
V(Remote Trunk Release): Press and hold for
about one second to unlock the trunk. The transmission
must be in P (Park).
L(Vehicle Locator/Panic Alarm): Press and release
to locate the vehicle. The turn signal lamps flash and
the horn sounds three times.
Press and hold
Lfor more than two seconds to
activate the panic alarm. The turn signal lamps flash
and the horn sounds repeatedly for 30 seconds. The
alarm turns off when the ignition is moved to ON/RUN
or
Lis pressed again. The ignition must be in LOCK/
OFF for the panic alarm to work.
The vehicle comes with two transmitters. Each
transmitter will have a number on it, "1" or "2". These
numbers correspond to the driver of the vehicle. For
example, the memory seat position for driver 1 will be
recalled when using the transmitter labeled "1",
if enabled through the DIC. See Memory Seat and
Mirrors
on page 2‑7and DIC Vehicle Customizationon page 4‑65for more information.

Remote Trunk Release
The remote trunk release buttonFis located on the
instrument panel. See Instrument Panel on page 1‑2.
Press the button to open the trunk. To use this feature,
your vehicle must be in P (Park) or N (Neutral).
You can also press the remote trunk release button on
the Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitter to open the
trunk. See Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) System
Operation on page 3‑4.
Emergency Trunk Release Handle
Notice: Do not use the emergency trunk release
handle as a tie-down or anchor point when securing
items in the trunk as it could damage the handle.
The emergency trunk release handle is only
intended to aid a person trapped in a latched trunk,
enabling them to open the trunk from the inside.
There is a glow-in-the-dark emergency trunk release
handle located inside the trunk near the latch. This
handle will glow following exposure to light. Pull the
release handle to open the trunk from the inside.

Rear Seat Pass‐Through
Your vehicle has a small door in the rear seat. This door
allows you to access the trunk from inside the vehicle.
The rear seat armrest must be down for the
pass-through door to open. To release the pass-through
door, move the release lever up. To close the door,
raise it and push it until it latches.
Windows
{WARNING:
Leaving children, helpless adults, or pets in a
vehicle with the windows closed is dangerous.
They can be overcome by the extreme heat and
suffer permanent injuries or even death from heat
stroke. Never leave a child, a helpless adult, or a
pet alone in a vehicle, especially with the windows
closed in warm or hot weather.
