Adjusting the rear passenger comfort level
1. Automatic comfort programme
 Press the "AUTO" button. The lamp in the button comes on.
We recommend that you use this mode. It automatically adjusts all settings to provide optimum operation for the comfor t level chosen: passenger compar tment temperature, air flow and air distribution. This system is designed to operate effectively in all seasons, with the windows closed.

Press the corresponding button successively for:
The left and rear passengers can each adjust their temperature setting independently. The value indicated in the screen is a level of comfor t and not a temperature in degrees Celsius or Fahrenheit.
 Turn the dial to the left to lower the value and to the right to raise it.
- Footwell and centre vent.
- Centre vent.
- Automatic control of air distribution.
The rear air conditioning controls only operate if, from the front: - the REAR button is activated, - the automatic visibility programme is not activated.
A setting around 21 provides an optimum level of comfor t. However, depending on your requirements, a setting between 18 and 24 is normal. It is recommended that the difference between left and right should not be greater 3. Ensure that the air grilles and vents on the floor
are not obstructed.

Emergency braking
In the event of a failure of the main ser vice brake or in an exceptional situation (e.g. driver taken ill, under instruction, etc) a continuous pull on the control lever A will stop the vehicle. The electronic stability programme (ESP) provides stability during emergency braking. If the emergency braking malfunctions, the message "Parking brake control faulty" will be displayed.
If a failure of the ESP system is signalled by the lighting of this warning lamp, then braking stability is
not guaranteed. In this event, stability must be assured by the driver by repeating alternate "pull-release" actions on the control lever A .
Emergency parking brake release
 if your vehicle has one, take out the vehicle chock B , located under the boot floor.  On a slope, immobilise the vehicle by placing a chock in front or behind one of the front wheels, opposing the slope. On level ground, immobilise the vehicle by placing a chock in front or behind one of the front wheels.
In the event of fault with the electric parking brake or a battery failure, an emergency mechanical control can be used to manually release the parking brake.  Immobilise the vehicle (or chock it if the brake pedal has not been released), with the engine running, by engaging first gear (manual gearbox, position P (automatic gearbox) or M or R (electronic gear control gearbox).  Switch of the engine, but leave the ignition on. If you are unable to immobilise the vehicle, do not operate this control and contact a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop as soon as possible.
The emergency braking must only be used in exceptional circumstances.

Gear effi ciency indicator *
System which reduces fuel consumption by advising the driver to change up on vehicles fitted with a manual gearbox.
Operation
The system inter venes only when driving economically. Depending on the driving situation and your vehicle's equipment, the system may advise you to skip one or more gears. You can follow this instruction without engagingthe intermediate gears. The gear engagement recommendations must not be considered compulsory. In fact, the configuration of the road, the amount of traffic and safety remain determining factors when choosing the best gear. Therefore, the driver remains responsible for deciding whether or not to follow the advice given by the system. This function cannot be deactivated.

- You are in third gear.
Example:
- You press the accelerator pedal moderately.
- The system may suggest that you engage a higher gear, if appropriate.
The information appears in the instrument panel screen in the form of an arrow accompanied by the suggested gear.
In the case of driving which makes par ticular demands on the per formance of the engine (firm pressure on the accelerator pedal, for example, when
over taking...), the system will not recommend a gear change. The system never suggests: - engaging first gear,
- engaging reverse gear, - engaging a lower gear.

Displays in the instrument panel
When you move the lever in the gate to select a position, the corresponding indicator comes on in the instrument panel. P. Park R. Reverse N. Neutral D. Drive (Automatic driving) S. Spor t programme  . Snow programme 1 to 6. Gear engaged during manual operation -. Invalid value during manual operation
 With your foot on the brake, select position P or N .  Star t the engine. If this procedure is not followed, an audible signal is heard, accompanied by a message in the instrument panel screen.  With the engine running, press the brake pedal.  Release the parking brake, unless it is programmed to automatic mode.  Select position R , D or M .  Gradually release the brake pedal. The vehicle moves off immediately.
Moving off
When the engine is running at idle, with the brakes released, if position R , R D or M is selected, the vehicle moves even without the accelerator being pressed. When the engine is running, never leave children in the vehicle without super vision. When carrying out maintenance with the engine running, apply the parking brake and select position P . PP
If position N is engaged inadver tently while driving, allow the engine to return to idle then engage position D to accelerate.

Speed limiter
System which prevents the vehicle from exceeding the speed programmed by the driver. When the programmed speed limit is reached, pressing the accelerator pedal no longer has any effect unless it is pressed firmly, which allows you to temporarily exceed the programmed speed. To return to the programmed speed, simply slow down to a speed below the programmed speed by releasing the accelerator.
The speed limiter is switched on manually: It requires a programmed speed of at least 20 mph (30 km/h).
The speed limiter is switched off by manual d offoperation of the control.
The programmed speed remains in the memory when the ignition is switched off.
The speed limiter cannot, in any circumstances, replace the need to obser ve speed limits, nor can it replace the need for vigilance and responsibility on the par t of the driver.

Cruise control
System which automatically maintains the speed of the vehicle at the value programmed by the driver, without any action on the accelerator pedal. The cruise control is switched on manually: it requires a minimum vehicle speed of 25 mph (40 km/h) and the engaging: - 4th gear or higher on a manual gearbox,
- 2nd gear or higher on an electronic gear control gearbox or automatic gearbox, - position A on the electronic gear control gearbox or D on the automatic gearbox.
The cruise control is switched off manually d offor by pressing the brake or clutch pedal or on triggering of the ESP system for safety reasons.
It is possible to exceed the programmed speed temporarily by pressing the accelerator pedal. To return to the programmed speed, simply release the accelerator pedal.
Switching off the ignition cancels any programmed speed value.

obstacle (person, vehicle, tree, gate, etc.) which comes within the field of detection of sensors located in the bumper. Cer tain types of obstacle (stake, roadworks cone, etc.) detected initially will no longer be detected at the end of the manoeuvre due to the presence of blind spots.
Parking sensors
This function cannot, in any circumstances, take the place of the vigilance and responsibility of the driver.
The system is switched on by engaging reverse gear. This is accompanied by an audible signal. The system is switched off when you exit reverse gear.
Rear parking sensors
Audible assistance
The proximity information is given by an intermittent audible signal, the frequency of which increases as the vehicle approaches the obstacle.
The sound emitted by the speaker (right or left) indicates the side on which the obstacle is located. When the distance between the vehicle and the obstacle becomes less than approximately thirty centimetres, the audible signal becomes continuous.
Visual assistance
This supplements the audible signal by displaying bars in the multifunction screen which move progressively nearer to the vehicle. When the obstacle is near, the "Danger" symbol is also displayed in the screen.
