More than 5 litres of fuel must be add-
ed in order to be registered by the fuel
gauge.
The key cannot be removed from the
l o c k u n t i l t h e fi l l e r c a p i s r e fi t t e d .
Opening the cap may release a vacu-
um, indicated by a noise. This is caused
by the sealing of the fuel system.
T o fi l l t h e t a n k s a f e l y :
the engine
must be
switched off,
i n s e r t t h e k e y i n t h e fi l l e r c a p , t h e n
turn it to the left,
r e m o v e t h e fi l l e r c a p ,
fi l l t h e t a n k , but do not continue
after the 3rd cut-off of the pump ;
this could cause malfunctions.
W h e n y o u h a v e fi l l e d t h e t a n k :
r e fi t t h e fi l l e r c a p ,
turn the key to the right, then remove
i t f r o m t h e fi l l e r c a p .

Quality of the fuel used for
petrol engines
The petrol engines are perfectly com-
patible with E10 type petrol biofuels
(containing 10 % ethanol), conforming
to European standards EN 228 and
EN 15376.
E85 type fuels (containing up to 85 %
e t h a n o l ) a r e r e s e r v e d e x c l u s i v e l y f o r
vehicles marketed for the use of this
t y p e o f f u e l ( B i o F l e x v e h i c l e s ) . T h e
quality of the ethanol must comply with
European standard EN 15293.
For Brazil only, special vehicles are
marketed to run on fuels containing up
to 100 % ethanol (E100 type). Quality of the fuel used for
Diesel engines
The Diesel engines are perfectly com-
patible with biofuels which conform to
current and future European standards
(Diesel fuel which complies with stan-
d a r d E N 5 9 0 m i x e d w i t h a b i o f u e l w h i c h
complies with standard EN 14214)
available at the pumps (containing up
to 7 % Fatty Acid Methyl Ester).
The B30 biofuel can be used in cer-
tain Diesel engines; however, this use
is subject to strict application of the
special servicing conditions. Consult a
PEUGEOT dealer.
The use of any other type of (bio)fuel
(vegetable or animal oils, pure or dilut-
ed, domestic fuel...) is strictly prohibited
(risk of damage to the engine and fuel
system).
