When the engine is running or the vehicle is being driven, the illumination of one of the following warning lamps indicates a fault which requires action on the par t of the driver. The warning comes on in the instrument panel or appears in the central colour screen associated with the satellite navigation system.
If your vehicle has a screen, a warning lamp coming on is always accompanied by the display of an additional message, to assist you in identifying the problem. If you encounter any problems, do not hesitate to co ntact a CITROËN dealer or a qualified workshop.
Warning lampis onCauseAction/Obser vations
STOP fixed, alone or associated with another warning lamp, accompanied by an audible signal and a message in the screen.
Illumination of this warning lamp is associated with a serious braking system, power steering, engine lubrication or cooling system fault or a punctured tyre.
Stop as soon as it is safe to do so as there is a risk that the engine will cut out while driving. Park, switch off the ignition and contact a CITROËN dealer or a qualified workshop.
Maximum coolant temperature fixed red. The temperature of the cooling system is too high. Stop as soon as it is safe to do so. Wait until the engine has cooled down before toppin g up the level, if necessary. If the problem persists, contact a CITROËN dealer or
qualified workshop.
Engine oil pressure fixed. There is a fault with the engine lubrication system. You must stop as soon it is safe to do so. Park, switch off the ignition and contact a CITROËN dealer or a qualified workshop.
Operating faults
If the electric parking brake fault warning lamp comes on together with one or more of the warning lamps p resented in these tables, place the vehicle in a safe condition (on level ground, gear engaged) and contact a CITROËN dealer or a qualified workshop with out delay.
SituationsConsequences
Display of the message " Parking brake fault " and of the following warning lamps: - The automatic functions are deactivated. - Hill star t assist is not available. - The electric parking brake can only be used manually.
Display of the message " Parking brake fault " and of the following warning lamps: - Manual release of the electric parking brake is only available by pressing the accelerator pedal and releasing the control. - Hill star t assist is not available. - The automatic functions and the manual applicatio n are still available.

System which keeps your vehicle immobilised temporarily (approximately 2 seconds) when star ting on a gradient, the time it takes to move your foot from the brake pedal to the accelerator pedal. This function is only active when: - the vehicle is completely stationary, with your foot on the brake pedal, - when certain conditions of gradient are met, - with the driver’s door closed. The hill star t assist function cannot be deactivated.
Hill start assist
On an ascending slope, with the vehicle stationar y, the vehicle is held for a brief moment when you release the brake pedal: - provided you are in first gear or neutral with a manual gearbox, - provided you are in position A or M with the electronic gearbox system.
Operation
Operating fault
If a fault occurs with the system, these warning lamps come on. Contact a CITROËN dealer or a qualified workshop to have the system checked.
Do not leave the vehicle while it is being held in the hill star t assist phase. If you need to leave the vehicle while the engine is running, apply the parking brake manually then ensure that the parking brake warning lamp is on (not flashing) in the instrument panel.
On a descending slope, with the vehicle stationar y and reverse gear engaged, the vehicle is held for a brief moment when you release the brake pedal.
Stop & Start The Stop & Star t system puts the engine temporarily on standby - STOP mode - during stops in the traffic (red lights, traffic jams, or other...). The engine restar ts automatically - START mode - as soon as y ou want to move off. The restar t takes place instantly, quickly and silently. Per fect for urban use, the Stop & Star t system reduce s fuel consumption and exhaust emissions as well as the noise level when stationary.
Operation
Going into engine STOP mode
With the automatic gearbox system, for your comfor t during parking maoeuvres, STOP mode is not available for a few seconds after coming out of reverse gear. STOP mode does not affect the functionality of the vehicle, such as braking, power steering, for example.
Never refuel with the engine in STOP mode; you must switch off the ignition with the key.
The "ECO" warning lamp comes on in the instrument panel and the engine goes into standby:
- with a manual gearbox , at speeds below 12 mph (20 km/h), when you put the gear lever into neutral and release the clutch pedal, - with the 6-speed electronic gearbox system , at a speed below 5 mph (8 km/h),
when you press the brake pedal or put the gear lever into position N .
If your vehicle is fitted with the system, a time counter calculates the sum of the periods in STOP mode during a journey. It resets itself to zero every time the ignition is switched on with the key.
STOP mode is not invoked when: - the driver's door is open, - the driver's seat belt is not fastened, - the vehicle has not exceeded 6 mph (10 km/h) since the last engine start using the key, - the electric parking brake is applied or being applied, - the engine is needed to maintain a comfor table temperature in the passenger compar tment, - demisting is active, - some special conditions (battery charge, engine temperature, braking assistance, ambient temperature...) where the engine is needed to assure control of a system.
Special cases:STOP mode unavailable
In this case, the "ECO" warning lamp flashes for a few seconds, then goes off. This operation is per fectly normal.

Parking sensors
This system indicates the proximity of an obstacle (person, vehicle, tree, gate, etc.) which comes within the field of detection of sensors located in the bumper.
Cer tain types of obstacle (stake, roadworks cone, etc.) detected initially will no longer be detected at the end of the manoeuvre due to
the presence of blind spots.
This function cannot, in any circumstances, take the place of the vigilance and responsibility of the driver.
The system is switched on by engaging reverse gear. This is accompanied by an audible signal. The system is switched off when you exit reverse gear.
Rear parking sensors
Audible assistance
The proximity information is given by an intermittent audible signal, the frequency of which increases as the vehicle approaches the obstacle. The sound emitted by the speaker (right or left) indicates the side on which the obstacle is located. When the distance between the vehicle and the obstacle becomes less than approximately thir ty centimetres, the audible signal becomes continuous.
Visual assistance
This supplements the audible signal by displaying bars in the multifunction screen which move progressively nearer to the vehicle. When the obstacle is near, the "Danger" symbol is also displayed in the screen.
Towing the vehicle Procedure for having your vehicle towed or for towing another vehicle using a removable towing eye.
The towing eye is installed in the boot under the floor. To gain access to it: open the boot, raise the floor,
secure it by hooking its cord on the hook on the rear parcel shelf suppor t, remove the towing eye from the holder.

General recommendations
Obser ve the legislation in force in your country. Ensure that the weight of the towing vehicle is higher than that of the towed vehicle. The driver must stay at the wheel of the towed vehicle. Driving on motor ways and fast roads is prohibited when towing. When towing a vehicle with all four wheels on the ground, always use an approved towing bar; rope and straps are prohibited. When towing a vehicle with the engine off, there is no longer any power
assistance for braking or steering.
In the following cases, you must always call on a professional recovery ser vice: - vehicle broken down on a motor way or fast road, - when it is not possible to put the gearbox into neutral, unlock the steering, or release the parking brake, - towing with only two wheels on the ground, - where there is no approved towing bar available...
