In the event of the electric parking brake malfunctioning or the battery running flat, an emergency manual device can release the parking brake.  Immobilise the vehicle (or keep it stationary, if the brake pedal is pressed), with the engine running, by engaging first gear (manual gearbox) or position M or R(6 -speed electronic gearbox system).
Emergency release
 Switch off the engine but leave the ignition on. If it is not possible to immobilise the vehicle, do not operate the control and contact a CITROËN dealer or a qualified workshop without delay.  Fetch the two vehicle blocks B and the release device C , located under the boot carpet.
 Immobilise the vehicle by placing the blocks in front or behind the two front wheels, opposite to the direction of the slope.  Remove the storage box under the boot carpet for access to the emergency release device.

Driving
 Pierce the protective cover D on the tube Ewith the release device.  Place the release device in the tube.  Turn the release device clockwise . For safety reasons , it is essential to continue turning the device until it reaches its stop. The parking brake is released.  Remove the release device and store it with the blocks in the toolbox under the boot carpet.
For safety reasons, after this operation it is essential to contact a CITROËN dealer or a qualified workshop without delay to replace the protective cover. Following an emergency unlocking, immobilisation of the vehicle is no longer assured once the manual emergency release has been deployed
and the manual control does not allow the re-application of your parking brake.
Take no action, either on the control lever A , or stopping star ting the engine while the release device is engaged. Take care not to allow moisture or dust
in the proximity of the protective cover.
- The operation of the parking brake reinitialises when the ignition is switched off then on again. If the reinitialisation of the parking brake proves impossible, contact a CITROËN dealer or a qualified workshop. - The subsequent time required for application may be longer than during normal operation.

To apply the electric parking brake:  immobilise the vehicle and switch off the ignition.  pull the control for at least 5 seconds or until app lication is complete.  switch on the ignition and check the switching on of the electric parking brake warning lamps. The application is slower than during normal operati on. To release the electric parking brake:  switch on the ignition.  pull the control and hold it for approximately 3 seconds then release it. If the braking warning lamp is flashing or if the warning lamps do not come on with the ignition on, these procedures will not work. Pla ce the vehicle on level ground and have it checked by a CITROËN dealer or a qualified workshop.

Battery fault - If the battery warning lamp comes on you must st op immediately as soon as the traffic allows. Stop and immobilise your vehicle (if necessary, place the two chocks under the wheels). - Apply the electric parking brake before switching off the engine.

Manual parking brake
Applying
 Pull the parking brake lever fully up to immobilise your vehicle.
Releasing
 Pull the parking brake lever up gently, press the release button then lower the lever fully.
When parking on a slope, direct your wheels against the kerb, apply the parking brake, engage a gear and switch off the ignition.
When the vehicle is being driven, if this warning lamp and the STOPwarning lamp come on, accompanied
by an audible signal and a message in the multifunction screen, this indicates that the parking brake is still on or has not been properly released.

Stopping the vehicle Operating fault
With the ignition on, the flashing of AUTO , accompanied by an audible signal and a message in the multifunction screen, indicates a malfunction of the gearbox. Have it checked by a CITROËN dealer or a qualified workshop.
You must press the brake pedal when star ting the engine. Whatever the circumstances, you must manually apply the parking brake when parking, unless the parking brake is programmed in automatic mode. When immobilising the vehicle, with the engine running, you must place the gear lever in neutral N . Before carrying out any work in the engine compar tment, check that the gear lever is in neutral N and that the parking brake is applied.
Before switching off the engine, you can choose to: - move to position N to engage neutral,
- leave the gear engaged; in this case, it will not be possible to move the vehicle. In both cases, you must apply the parking brake to immobilise the vehicle.

Stop & Start The Stop & Star t system puts the engine temporarily on standby - STOP mode - during stops in the traffic (red lights, traffic jams, or other...). The engine restar ts automatically - START mode - as soon as y ou want to move off. The restar t takes place instantly, quickly and silently. Per fect for urban use, the Stop & Star t system reduce s fuel consumption and exhaust emissions as well as the noise level when stationary.
Operation
Going into engine STOP mode
With the automatic gearbox system, for your comfor t during parking maoeuvres, STOP mode is not available for a few seconds after coming out of reverse gear. STOP mode does not affect the functionality of the vehicle, such as braking, power steering, for example.
Never refuel with the engine in STOP mode; you must switch off the ignition with the key.
The "ECO" warning lamp comes on in the instrument panel and the engine goes into standby:
- with a manual gearbox , at speeds below 12 mph (20 km/h), when you put the gear lever into neutral and release the clutch pedal, - with the 6-speed electronic gearbox system , at a speed below 5 mph (8 km/h),
when you press the brake pedal or put the gear lever into position N .
If your vehicle is fitted with the system, a time counter calculates the sum of the periods in STOP mode during a journey. It resets itself to zero every time the ignition is switched on with the key.
STOP mode is not invoked when: - the driver's door is open, - the driver's seat belt is not fastened, - the vehicle has not exceeded 6 mph (10 km/h) since the last engine start using the key, - the electric parking brake is applied or being applied, - the engine is needed to maintain a comfor table temperature in the passenger compar tment, - demisting is active, - some special conditions (battery charge, engine temperature, braking assistance, ambient temperature...) where the engine is needed to assure control of a system.
Special cases:STOP mode unavailable
In this case, the "ECO" warning lamp flashes for a few seconds, then goes off. This operation is per fectly normal.

Reactivation
This system requires a specific battery with a special specification and technology (reference numbers available from a CITROËN dealer or a qualified workshop). Fitting a battery not listed by CITROËN introduces the risk of malfunction of the system. In the event of a malfunction with the system, the "ECO OFF" switch warning lamp flashes, then comes on continuously. have it checked by a CITROËN dealer or a qualified workshop. In the event of a fault in STOP mode, the vehicle may stall. It is then necessary to switch off the ignition and star t the engine again using the key.
Operating fault Maintenance
Before working under the bonnet, deactivate the Stop & Star t system to avoid any risk of injury resulting from automatic operation of START mode.
The Stop & Star t system makes use of advanced technology. All work on this type of battery must be done only by a CITROËN dealer or a qualified workshop.
Press the "ECO OFF" switch again. The system is active again; this is confirmed
by the switch warning lamp going off and a message in the instrument panel.

Blind spot sensors
This driving assistance system warns the driver of the presence of another vehicle in the blind spot angle of their vehicle, as soon as this presents a potential danger.
Operation
This system is designed to improve safety when driving and is in no circumstances a substitute for the use of the interior rear view mirror and door mirrors. It is the driver's responsibility to constantly check the traffic, to ass es the distances and relative speeds of other vehicles and to predict their movements before de ciding whether to change lane. The blind spot sensor system can never replace the vigilance and responsibility of the driver.
 On switching on the ignition, or engine running, press this button to activate the function; the warning lamp comes on.
Sensors fitted in the front and rear bumpers monitor obscured zones in the driver's field of vision.
A warning lamp appears in the door mirror on the side in question: - immediately, when being over taken, - after a delay of one second, when over taking another vehicle too slowly.
