PRACTICAL INFORMATION
Fitting the steel or "space-
saver" type spare wheel
I f y o u r v e h i c l e i s fi t t e d w i t h a l l o y
wheels, it is normal to notice, when
t i g h t e n i n g t h e b o l t s o n fi t t i n g , t h a t
the washers do not come into con-
tact with the steel or "space-saver"
type spare wheel. The wheel is
secured by the conical contact of
each bolt.
Access to the spare wheel
The spare wheel is installed in the boot
u n d e r t h e fl o o r .
According to country, the spare wheel
may be steel or of the "space-saver"
type.
For access to it, refer to the paragraph
"Access to tools" on the previous page.
Taking out the wheel
Unscrew the yellow central bolt, and
remove it.
Raise the spare wheel towards you
from the rear.
Take the wheel out of the boot.
Putting the wheel back in place
Put the wheel back in its housing.
R e fi t t h e y e l l o w c e n t r a l b o l t i n t h e
centre of the wheel.
Tighten fully until the central bolt
clicks to retain the wheel correctly.
P u t t h e p o l y s t y r e n e s t o r a g e b o x
back in place.

Parking the vehicle
Immobilise the vehicle where it
d o e s n o t b l o c k t r a f fi c : t h e g r o u n d
must be level, stable and non-
slippery.
Apply the parking brake, switch off
t h e i g n i t i o n a n d e n g a g e fi r s t g e a r t o
lock the wheels.
If necessary, place a chock under
the wheel diagonally opposite the
wheel to be changed.
You must ensure that the occu-
pants get out of the vehicle and
wait where they are safe.
Never go underneath a vehicle
r a i s e d u s i n g a j a c k ; u s e a n a x l e
stand.
Removing the wheel
List of operations
Remove the chromed bolt cover from
each of the bolts using the tool 3 (with
a l l o w w h e e l s o n l y ) .
Fit the security socket 5 on the
wheelbrace 1 to slacken the security
b o l t ( i f y o u r v e h i c l e h a s t h e m ) .
Slacken the other bolts using the
wheelbrace 1 only.
Place the jack 2 in contact with one
of the two front A or rear B locations
provided on the underbody, which-
ever is closest to the wheel to be
changed.
E x t e n d t h e j a c k 2 until its base plate
is in contact with the ground. Ensure
that the centreline of the jack base
plate is directly below the location A
or B used.
Raise the vehicle until there is suf-
fi c i e n t s p a c e b e t w e e n t h e w h e e l a n d
the ground to admit the spare (not
p u n c t u r e d ) w h e e l e a s i l y .
Remove the bolts and store them in
a clean place.
Remove the wheel.

Put the wheel in place on the hub
using the centring guide 4 .
Screw in the bolts by hand as far as
possible.
Pre-tighten the security bolt (if your ve-
h i c l e h a s t h e m ) u s i n g t h e w h e e l b r a c e
1 fi t t e d w i t h t h e s e c u r i t y s o c k e t 5 .
Pre-tighten the other bolts using the
wheelbrace 1 only.
Lower the vehicle fully.
Fold the jack 2 and detach it.
After changing a wheel
To store the punctured wheel in
t h e b o o t c o r r e c t l y , fi r s t r e m o v e t h e
central cover.
When using the "space-saver"
t y p e s p a r e w h e e l , d o n o t e x c e e d
5 0 m p h ( 8 0 k m / h ) .
Have the tightening of the bolts
and the pressure of the spare
wheel checked by a CITROËN
dealer without delay.
Have the punctured wheel repaired
and replace it on the vehicle as
soon as possible.
Refitting the wheel
Tighten the security bolt (if your vehicle
h a s t h e m ) u s i n g t h e w h e e l b r a c e 1 fi t -
ted with the security socket 5 .
Tighten the other bolts using the
wheelbrace 1 only.
R e fi t t h e c h r o m e d b o l t c o v e r s o n
each of the bolts (with alloy wheels
o n l y ) .

TOWING THE VEHICLE
Access to the tools Towing your vehicle
On the front bumper, unclip the cover
by pressing at the top left and pull-
ing at the bottom right of the cover.
Screw the towing eye in fully.
Install the towing bar.
S w i t c h o n t h e h a z a r d w a r n i n g l a m p s
on the towed vehicle.
Place the gear lever in neutral.
On the rear bumper, unclip the
cover by pressing at the bottom.
Screw the towing eye in fully.
Install the towing bar.
S w i t c h o n t h e h a z a r d w a r n i n g l a m p s
on the towed vehicle.
Towing another vehicle
The towing eye is installed under the
b o o t fl o o r .
To gain access to it:
open the boot,
r e m o v e t h e a d j u s t a b l e b o o t fl o o r ,
lift up the boot carpet,
remove the towing eye from the tool
holder. When towing with all four wheels
on the ground, always use a towing
bar.
When towing with only two wheels
on the ground, always use profes-
s i o n a l l i f t i n g e q u i p m e n t .
When towing with the engine off,
there is no longer any braking or
steering assistance.
Failure to observe this special con-
dition could result in damage to
certain braking components and
the absence of braking assistance

this increases fuel consumption.

on the front right door pillar.
This number is engraved on the bodywork near the hinge.
For access to it, open the right-hand door.
B. VIN on the windscreen lower cross-
m e m b e r .
The number is on a self-adhesive label which is visible through the
windscreen.
C. Manufacturer's label.
This number is indicated on a self- d e s t r o y i n g l a b e l a f fi x e d t o t h e c e n t r e
pillar, on the left-hand side.
D. Tyre/paint label.
T h i s l a b e l i s a f fi x e d t o t h e c e n t r e p i l l a r , on the left-hand side.
It bears the following information:
- t h e t y r e i n fl a t i o n p r e s s u r e s w i t h a n d without load,
- the wheel rim and tyre sizes,
- the brands of tyre recommended by the manufacturer,
- t h e i n fl a t i o n p r e s s u r e o f t h e s p a r e wheel,
- the paint colour code.
