PRACTICAL INFORMATION
CHANGING A WHEEL
The tools are installed under the boot
fl o o r .
For access to them:
open the boot,
r e m o v e t h e b o o t fl o o r ,
lift up the boot carpet,
r e m o v e t h e b o x c o n t a i n i n g t h e t o o l s ,
r e m o v e t h e p o l y s t y r e n e s t o r a g e b o x . A l l o f t h e s e t o o l s a r e s p e c i fi c t o y o u r
vehicle. Do not use them for other
purposes.

Wheel with trim
When removing the wheel , fi r s t
detach the trim using the wheel-
brace 1 pulling at the valve passage
hole.
W h e n r e fi t t i n g t h e w h e e l , r e fi t t h e
trim starting by placing its notch fac-
ing the valve and press around its
edge with the palm of your hand.
1. Wheelbrace.
For removing the wheel trim and r e m o v i n g t h e w h e e l fi x i n g b o l t s .
2. Jack with integral handle.
For raising the vehicle.
3. "Bolt cover" tool.
For removing the bolt protectors ( c o v e r s ) o n a l l o y w h e e l s .
Procedure for changing a faulty wheel
for the spare wheel using the tools pro-
vided with the vehicle.
4. Centring guide.
F o r r e fi t t i n g a n a l l o y w h e e l t o t h e hub.
5. Socket for the security bolts
( l o c a t e d i n t h e g l o v e b o x ) .
For adapting the wheelbrace to the special "security" bolts (if
y o u r v e h i c l e h a s t h e m ) .

Parking the vehicle
Immobilise the vehicle where it
d o e s n o t b l o c k t r a f fi c : t h e g r o u n d
must be level, stable and non-
slippery.
Apply the parking brake, switch off
t h e i g n i t i o n a n d e n g a g e fi r s t g e a r t o
lock the wheels.
If necessary, place a chock under
the wheel diagonally opposite the
wheel to be changed.
You must ensure that the occu-
pants get out of the vehicle and
wait where they are safe.
Never go underneath a vehicle
r a i s e d u s i n g a j a c k ; u s e a n a x l e
stand.
Removing the wheel
List of operations
Remove the chromed bolt cover from
each of the bolts using the tool 3 (with
a l l o w w h e e l s o n l y ) .
Fit the security socket 5 on the
wheelbrace 1 to slacken the security
b o l t ( i f y o u r v e h i c l e h a s t h e m ) .
Slacken the other bolts using the
wheelbrace 1 only.
Place the jack 2 in contact with one
of the two front A or rear B locations
provided on the underbody, which-
ever is closest to the wheel to be
changed.
E x t e n d t h e j a c k 2 until its base plate
is in contact with the ground. Ensure
that the centreline of the jack base
plate is directly below the location A
or B used.
Raise the vehicle until there is suf-
fi c i e n t s p a c e b e t w e e n t h e w h e e l a n d
the ground to admit the spare (not
p u n c t u r e d ) w h e e l e a s i l y .
Remove the bolts and store them in
a clean place.
Remove the wheel.

Put the wheel in place on the hub
using the centring guide 4 .
Screw in the bolts by hand as far as
possible.
Pre-tighten the security bolt (if your ve-
h i c l e h a s t h e m ) u s i n g t h e w h e e l b r a c e
1 fi t t e d w i t h t h e s e c u r i t y s o c k e t 5 .
Pre-tighten the other bolts using the
wheelbrace 1 only.
Lower the vehicle fully.
Fold the jack 2 and detach it.
After changing a wheel
To store the punctured wheel in
t h e b o o t c o r r e c t l y , fi r s t r e m o v e t h e
central cover.
When using the "space-saver"
t y p e s p a r e w h e e l , d o n o t e x c e e d
5 0 m p h ( 8 0 k m / h ) .
Have the tightening of the bolts
and the pressure of the spare
wheel checked by a CITROËN
dealer without delay.
Have the punctured wheel repaired
and replace it on the vehicle as
soon as possible.
Refitting the wheel
Tighten the security bolt (if your vehicle
h a s t h e m ) u s i n g t h e w h e e l b r a c e 1 fi t -
ted with the security socket 5 .
Tighten the other bolts using the
wheelbrace 1 only.
R e fi t t h e c h r o m e d b o l t c o v e r s o n
each of the bolts (with alloy wheels
o n l y ) .
S t o r e t h e t o o l s i n t h e b o x .
