WARNING
EWB00400Always adjust the shock absorber assemblies
on the left and right side to the same setting.
Uneven adjustment can cause poor handling
and loss of stability, which could lead to an ac-cident.EBU19181Auxiliary DC jack The auxiliary DC jack is located at the front right
side of the ATV. The auxiliary DC jack can be used
for suitable work lights, radios, etc. The auxiliary
DC jack should only be used when the engine is
running.
1. Set the light switch to “OFF”.
2. Start the engine. (See page 6-1.)
3. Open the auxiliary DC jack cap, and then in-
sert the accessory power plug into the jack.4. When the auxiliary DC jack is not being used,
cover it with the cap.
NOTICEECB00120Do not use accessories requiring more than
the above maximum capacity. This may
overload the circuit and cause the fuse to
blow.1. Auxiliary DC jack cap

NOTICEECB00930To charge a VRLA (Valve Regulated Lead Acid)
battery, a special (constant-voltage) battery
charger is required. Using a conventional bat-
tery charger will damage the battery. If you do
not have access to a constant-voltage battery
charger, have a Yamaha dealer charge yourbattery.
To store the batteryIf the ATV will not be used for more than one
month, remove the battery, fully charge it, and
then place it in a cool, dry place. If the battery will be stored for more than two
months, check it at least once a month and fully
charge it if necessary.
To install the batteryTIPBe sure the battery is fully charged.
1. Place the battery in its compartment.
2. Connect the positive battery lead first, then
connect the negative battery lead by installing
their bolt.3. Install the battery holding plate by installing
the bolts.
4. Install the seat. (See page 4-18.)
NOTICEECB00940Always keep the battery charged. Storing a dis-
charged battery can cause permanent batterydamage.EBU25325Replacing a fuse The main fuse and the fuse box are located under
the seat. (See page 4-18.)1. Positive battery lead (red)

WARNING
EWB02171Always use a fuse of the specified rating, and
never use a substitute object in place of the
proper fuse. An improper fuse or a substitute
object can cause damage to the electrical sys-tem, which could lead to a fire.3. Turn the key to “ON” and turn on the electrical
circuits to check if the devices operate.
4. If the fuse immediately blows again, have a
Yamaha dealer check the electrical system.
