– When you again press the switch , the cooling system is switched off. The
warning light in the button goes out. Only
the function of the ventilation remains
active when no lower temperature than the outside temperature can be reached.
Setting temperatureYou can separate the interior temperature for the left and right side separately. – You can set the temperature for both sides
after switching on the ignition with the
control dial .
– If you wish to set the temperature for the right side, turn the control dial . The
warning light in the button lights up,
this indicates that differing tempera-
tures for the left and right side can be set.
If the warning light in the button lights up, the temperature for both sides cannot be set with the control dial . You can
reinitiate this functi
on by pressing the
button . The warning light in the button which indicates the possibility to set differing temperatures for the left and right side, goes out. You can set the interior temperature between +18°C and +26°C. The interior temper- ature is regulated automatically within this
range. If you chose a temperature lower
than +18°C, a blue symbol lights up at the
start of the numerical
scale. If you chose a
temperature higher than +26°C, a red symbol lights up at the end of the numerical scale. In both limit positions the Climatroni
c operates at maximum cooling or heating
capacity, respectively. The temperatur
e is not controlled in this case.
Lengthy and uneven distri
bution of the air flow out of the vents (in particular at the leg
area) and large differences in temperature, for example when getting out of the vehicle, can result in chills in sensitive persons.
Recirculated air mode In recirculated air mode air is sucked out of the interior of the vehicle and then fed back into the interior. When the automatic air distribution control is switched on, an air quality sensor measures the concentration of pollutants in the drawn-in air.Recirculated air mode prevents polluted air outside the vehicle from getting into the vehicle, for example when driving through a tunn
el or when standing in a traffic jam. If
a considerable increase in concentration of
pollutants is recognized by the air quality
sensor, when the automatic air distribution co
ntrol is switched on, the air distribution
control will temporarily be switched off. If
the concentration of po
llutants decreases to
the normal level, the air distribution control
is automatically switched off so that fresh
air can be guided into
the vehicle interior.
Switching recirculated air mode on– Press the button repeatedly
until the warning light on the left side of the
button lights up.
Switch on automatic air distribution control– Press the button repeatedly
until the warning light on the right side of the
button lights up.
Switch off automatic air distribution control temporarily– If the air quality sensor does not switch on
the air distribution control automatically
when there is a nauseating smell, you can
switch it on yourself by pressing the
button *. The warning light lights up
in the button on the left side.
Switching recirculated air mode off– Press the button or press the button repetitively, until the warning
lights in the button go out.
WARNING
You should not leave recirculated air mode on over a longer period of time, as “stale” air may result in fatigue in the driver and occupants, divert your atten-

Mobile phones and tw
o-way radio systems
The installation of a mobile phone and two-way radio system in a vehicle should be carried out by a specialist garage. Mobile phones send and receive radio wave
s during a conversation as well as in
standby mode. Radio waves can be harmful
to the human body if their frequency
exceeds certain limit values. Škoda Auto permits the operation of mobile
phones and two-way radio systems with
a professionally installed external aerial and a maximum transmission power of up to 10 watts. It is essential that you inform yourself at
a specialist garage about the possibilites to
assemble and operate systems
which have a power output of more than 10 W. They
will inform you which technical possibilit
ies exist for retrofitting mobile phones.
When using a mobille phone inside the vehicl
e, which is not inserted into the phone
adapter, and thus has no connection to the
external aerial, the electromagnetic radia-
tion can exceed the current limit value. We therefore recommend to operate a mobile phone in the vehicle only when it is conne
cted to an external aerial via the phone
adapter. This improves the quality of the connection. Operation of mobile phones or two-way ra
dio systems may interfere with functioning
of the electronic systems of your vehicle. The reasons for this may be:•
no external aerial,
•
external aerial incorrectly installed,
•
transmission power greater than 10 watts.
WARNING

If a mobile phone or a two-way radio
system is operated in the vehicle
without using a special exte
rnal aerial or an extern
al aerial which has been
incorrectly installed, this can increase the strength of the electromagnetic field in the interior of the vehicle.•
Please concentrate fully at
all times on your driving!
•
You must not install two-way radio systems, mobile phones or mounts on
the covers of the airbags or within the immediate deployment range of airbags. This might result in injuries to the
occupants in the event of an accident.
•
Never leave a mobile phone on a seat, on
the dash panel or in another area,
from which it can be thrown during a sudden braking manoeuver, an accident or a collision. In this case, the occupants of the vehicle might be injured.

All communication between a telephone and
the handsfree-system of your vehicle
can only be established with the help of the Bluetooth
® technology. The adapter*
serves only for charging the telephone and fo
r transmitting the signal to the external
aerial of the vehicle. To ensure an optimum signal transmission, always leave the telephone with the adapter* in the telephone mount. A phone phonebook is part of the mobile ph
one preinstallation with voice control. In
the phone phonebook there are 1 500 free me
mory locations available. This phone
phonebook is independent of the a
ppliance used for the mobile phone.
If the system answers with the voice response “
Telephone is not ready
”, please check
the operating state of the telephone as follows:

Caution
Taking the mobile phone out of the adapter du
ring the call can lead to interruption of
the connection. When taking out the mobile phone, the connection to the factory-fitted antenna is interrupted, this reduces the quality of the transmitting and receiving signal. The charging of the mobile phone battery is also interrupted.

The Bluetooth
® technology serves as cableless connection of a mobile
phone to a hands-free sy
stem of your vehicle.
In order to connect a mobile phone with Bluetooth
® to the hands-free system, it is
necessary to adapt the phone and the hands-free system to each other. Detailed infor- mation on this is provided in the operatin
g instructions of your mobile phone. The
following steps must be carried out for the connection: – Switch on the ignition.– Select Bluetooth
® on the mobile phone and select the menu with which the
mobile phone searches for suitable Bluetooth
® devices.
– If the hands-free system on the display of the mobile phone announces

within 30 seconds and wait, until the connection is estab-
lished.

®, no other phone can be connected with the hands-free system via Bluetooth

Up to three mobile phones

Bluetooth
®, whereby only one mobile phone can communicate via Bluetooth
® with
the hands-free system. If a fourth mobile phone is connected to the handsfree-system, then the telephone, which has not been used together with the handsfree system via Bluetooth
® for the longest peri
od, is disconnected.

Note that the range of the Bluetooth

dependent on local factors, e.g. obstacles

Fuses and light bulbsElectric fusesReplacing fuses Defect fuses must be replaced.Individual electrical circuits are protected by
fuses. The fuses are located on the left
side of the dash panel behind the safety
cover and under the cover in the engine
compartment on the left. – Switch the ignition off and also the electrical component affected. – Insert the wrench into the opening on the bottom side of the dash panel

and remove the side cover or the cover in the engine compartment
⇒page 234.
– Find out which fuse belongs to the relevant component
⇒page 237, “Fuse assign-
ment in the dash panel”,
⇒page 234, “Fuse assignment in engine compartment -
version 1” or
⇒page 236, “Fuse assignment in engine compartment - version 2”.
– Take the plastic clip out of it
s fixture in the fuse cover, insert it onto the respective
fuse and pull out this fuse.
– Defect fuses can be detected by their melted metal strips. Replace the defect fuse
by a new fuse of the
same
ampere number.
– Fit on the fuse cover again.
We recommend that you always have the
small box of replacement fuses in your
vehicle. You can obtain repl
acement fuses from Škoda original accessories or from a
specialist garage

Caution

Never attempt to “repair” fuses and also do
not replace them with a fuse of a higher
amperage - risk of fire! This may also caus
e damage at another part of the electrical
system.•
Have the electrical system checked as quickly as possible by a specialist garage if a
newly inserted fuse blows again after a short time.
