Recommendations for use and notes
If the interior temperature re-
mains very high following a prolonged
period parked in the sun, do not hesitate
to ventilate the passenger compartment
for a few minutes.
To obtain uniform air distribution, take
care not to obstruct the exterior air in-
take grille located at the bottom of the
windscreen, the vents, the air outlets
under the front seats and the air ex-
tractor in the boot.
In cold weather, in order to obtain uni-
form comfort, more rapid demisting

uncomfortable, it is advisable to close
vents 3 and 4.
When washing the vehicle using high
pressure equipment, do not direct
the jet towards the exterior air intake
grille.
To obtain optimum demisting, we
recommend that the windows are kept
clean on the inside of the vehicle.
In certain cases of particularly arduous
use (towing the maximum load on a
steep gradient when the temperature
is high), cutting off the air conditioning
permits the recovery of engine power
and, therefore, an increase in the tow-
ing capacity. For the air conditioning to be fully
effective, the windows must be closed.
Ensure that the passenger compart-

If you drive in a dusty environment, re-
place them twice as often.
The air conditioning system does not
contain chlorine and does not present
any danger to the ozone layer.
Operate the air conditioning for 5 to
10 minutes, once or twice a month to
keep it in perfect working order.
The water resulting from the conden-
sation of the air conditioning system
is discharged via an opening provided
for this purpose. Therefore, a puddle
of water may form underneath the ve-
hicle when stationary.
If the system does not produce cold air,
do not use it and contact a PEUGEOT
dealer.
Flashing of the points separating the
setting value digits indicates a mal-
function of the air conditioning. Consult
a PEUGEOT dealer.
Use of the automatic regulation
of the air conditioning is recom-
mended. It permits optimised
automatic control of all of the

compartment temperature and air distri-
bution, using various sensors (exterior
temperature and sunshine), so there is
no need to change your reference set-
tings other than the value displayed.

TOWING A TRAILER,
CARAVAN, BOAT, ETC...
We recommend the use of original
PEUGEOT towbars and their harnesses
which have been tested and approved
from the design stage of your vehicle and

ing the electrical pre-equipment installed
at the rear of the vehicle, in accordance
with the manufacturer's instructions.
Note: in certain cases of par-
ticularly arduous use (towing
the maximum load in high
temperatures on a steep
slope), the engine automatically lim-
its its power and selects the appropri-
ate automatic gearbox gear in manual
mode. In this case, cutting off the air
conditioning allows the engine power
to be recovered, and therefore the
towing capacity to be increased. A u t o m a t i c a d j u s t m e n t
To avoid causing a nuisance to other
road users, this system automatical-
ly corrects the height of the beam of
xenon bulbs in relation to the vehicle
load after approximately 2 minutes.
The driver is then assured of having
optimum lighting.
D r i v i n g a d v i c e
D i s t r i b u t i o n o f l o a d s : distribute the
load in the trailer so that the heavi-
est loads are as close as possible to
the axle and the nose weight is close
to the maximum authorised without,
however, exceeding it.
Lighting
Tyres: check the tyre pressures of the
towing vehicle (label on the central
door pillar on the driver's side) and of
the trailer towed, observing the recom-
mended pressure.
If the coolant temperature
warning light comes on, stop
the vehicle and switch off the
engine as soon as possible.

HDI engine, it is advisable, following
intensive use (towing on a motorway,
prolonged driving, ...), to leave the en-
gine running at idle for approximately
20 seconds before switching off the
ignition. This limits any increase in the
temperature of the engine after it has
been switched off.
In all cases, pay attention to the coolant
temperature.
Brakes: towing increases the braking
distance. Drive at a moderate speed,
change down early and brake gradually.
S i d e w i n d : sensitivity to side wind is
increased. Drive smoothly and at a
moderate speed.
Cooling: towing a trailer on a slope in-
creases the coolant temperature.
As the fan is electrically controlled, its
cooling capacity is not dependent on
the engine speed.
