speed, long tailbacks...).
T o r e g e n e r a t e t h e fi l t e r , y o u a r e a d -
v i s e d t o d r i v e a s s o o n a s p o s s i b l e
a n d w h e n t r a f fi c c o n d i t i o n s p e r m i t a t
a speed of 35 mph (60 km/h) or more
f o r a t l e a s t fi v e m i n u t e s ( u n t i l t h e w a r n -
ing light goes out).
If the light remains on, contact a
PEUGEOT dealer.

m o v i n g , i t i n d i c a t e s a l a c k o f d i e s e l a d -

idle, you may sometimes notice steam
coming from the exhaust during ac-
celeration. This has no effect on the

INSTRUMENT PANEL DISPLAY
After switching on the ignition, two
functions are shown in succession:
- s e r v i c e i n d i c a t o r ,
- total distance recorder (total and trip distances).
Note: the total and trip distances are dis-
played for 30 seconds when the ignition
i s s w i t c h e d o f f , o n o p e n i n g t h e d r i v e r ' s
door, as well as on locking and unlock-
i n g t h e v e h i c l e .
Engine oil level indicator
When the ignition is switched on, the
e n g i n e o i l l e v e l i s i n d i c a t e d o n t h e
instrument panel display for approxi-
mately 7 seconds.
T h i s l e v e l i s i n d i c a t e d a t t h e s a m e
t i m e a s t h e s e r v i c e i n f o r m a t i o n w h i c h
appears on the display located in the
speedometer dial.
Oil level correct
Lack of oil
Flashing indicates a lack
of oil which may damage
the engine.
If the lack of oil is con-
fi r m e d b y c h e c k i n g u s i n g
t h e d i p s t i c k , i t i s i m p e r a t i v e t h a t t h e
l e v e l i s t o p p e d u p . C h e c k t h e o i l l e v e l u s i n g
the dipstick.
I f t h e l e v e l i s c o r r e c t , t h e
fl a s h i n g i n d i c a t e s a n e n -
g i n e o i l l e v e l g a u g e m a l -
function.
Consult a PEUGEOT dealer.
T h e l e v e l o b s e r v e d o n t h e d i p s t i c k i s
o n l y v a l i d i f t h e v e h i c l e i s p a r k e d o n
l e v e l g r o u n d a n d t h e e n g i n e h a s b e e n
off for more than 15 minutes.
Dipstick
T h e r e a r e 2 l e v e l m a r k s o n t h e
dipstick:

Oil level gauge fault
