The parking assistance sys-
tem cannot, in any circum-
stances, replace the need for
vigilance and responsibility on
the part of the driver.
The parking assistance is
switched off :
- when you exit reverse gear,
- when the speed is higher than 6 mph (10 km/h) in forward gear,
- when the vehicle has been station-ary for more than three seconds in
forward gear. Deactivation Operating fault
The system will be deactivat-
ed automatically when a trailer
is being towed or when a bicy-
c l e c a r r i e r i s fi t t e d ( v e h i c l e fi t t e d w i t h
a towbar or bicycle carrier recom-
mended by PEUGEOT).
Reactivation
Press button A again, the warning
lamp switches off, the system is re-
activated.
Press button A , the warning lamp
comes on, the system is fully deacti-
vated. In bad weather or in winter, en-
sure that the sensors are not
covered with mud, ice or snow.
When reverse gear is engaged, an
audible signal (long beep) indicates
that the sensors may be dirty.
When the vehicle is being driven at
a speed below approximately 6 mph
(10 km/h), certain sources of noise
(motorcycles, lorries, pneumatic
drills, ...) may trigger the parking as-
sistance audible signals. If an operating fault occurs,
this warning lamp is displayed
on the instrument panel and/
or a message appears on
the multifunction screen, ac-
companied by an audible signal (short
beep), when reverse gear is engaged.

Towing another vehicle
The towing eye is installed in the boot
u n d e r t h e fl o o r .
T o g a i n a c c e s s t o i t :
o p e n t h e b o o t ,
r a i s e t h e fl o o r ,
secure it by hooking the cords on
t h e h o o k s o n t h e s h e l f s u p p o r t ,
r e m o v e t h e p o l y s t y r e n e b o x ,
remove the towing eye from the
holder. When towing with all four
w h e e l s o n t h e g r o u n d , a l w a y s
use a towbar.
When towing with only two
w h e e l s o n t h e g r o u n d , a l w a y s u s e
p r o f e s s i o n a l l i f t i n g e q u i p m e n t .
W h e n t o w i n g w i t h t h e e n g i n e o f f ,
there is no longer any braking or
steering assistance.
Place the gear lever in
neutral (position N on the
p i l o t e d m a n u a l g e a r b o x o r
a u t o m a t i c g e a r b o x ) .
Failure to observe this special
condition could result in dam-
age to certain braking com-
ponents and the absence of
b r a k i n g a s s i s t a n c e t h e n e x t
time the engine is started.

Side wind
Take into account the increased
sensitivity to side wind.
Cooling
Towing a trailer on a slope increases
the temperature of the coolant.
A s t h e f a n i s e l e c t r i c a l l y c o n t r o l l e d , i t s
cooling capacity is not dependent on
the engine speed.
T o l o w e r t h e e n g i n e s p e e d , r e d u c e
your speed. Braking
Towing a trailer increases the braking
distance.
Tyres
Check the tyre pressures of the
t o w i n g v e h i c l e a n d o f t h e t r a i l e r ,
observing the recommended pres-
sures.
Lighting
Check the electrical signalling on
the trailer.
The rear parking assistance
will be deactivated automati-
c a l l y i f a n o r i g i n a l P E U G E O T
towbar is used.
I f t h e w a r n i n g l a m p a n d t h e
STOP warning lamp come
o n , s t o p t h e v e h i c l e a n d
switch off the engine as
soon as possible.
Towbar suited to the attachment of a
trailer or caravan with additional signal-
ling and lighting.
Distribution of loads
Distribute the load in the trailer so
that the heaviest items are as close
a s p o s s i b l e t o t h e a x l e a n d t h e n o s e
w e i g h t a p p r o a c h e s t h e m a x i m u m
p e r m i t t e d w i t h o u t e x c e e d i n g i t .
A i r d e n s i t y d e c r e a s e s w i t h a l t i t u d e , t h u s
reducing engine performance. Above

must be reduced by 10 % and so on for
every 1 000 metres of altitude.
