The heated rear window automatically
switches on when the dies el particle filter is
being cleaned 3 depending on the engine.
Climate control 3114. Overload
If the windows are repeatedly operated at
short intervals, the power supply is briefly
cut off.
Fault
If the windows cannot be opened and
closed automatically, activate the window
electronics as follows:
1. Close doors.
2. Switch on ignition.
3. Close the window completely and hold
the rocker switch down at least
5 seconds longer.
4. Open the window completely and hold the rocker switch down at least 1 second
longer.
5. Repeat for each window.

Heating and ventilation system,
air conditioning system
3
Ventilation, heating and cooling 3 are
combined into one unit that is designed to
provide comfort regardless of the season,
weather or outside temperature.
When cooling 3 is activated, the air is
cooled and dried.
The heating unit heats the air as required in
all operating modes depending on the
position of the temperature switch. The air
supply can be adjusted to suit
requirements by means of the fan.
The buttons for cooling n and air
recirculation 4 are only found on
versions with optional air conditioning
system 3.

Electronic climate control
system
3
Offers the greatest comfort in the vehicle
interior regardless of the conditions
outside.
To ensure a uniform and comfortable
climate in the vehicle, the temperature of
inflowing air, air-flow rate and air
distribution are automatically adapted
based on the climate conditions outside
the vehicle and the current temperature of
the vehicle interior.

Heating and ventilation system Temperature
Adjusted using left-hand rotary switch.
The amount of heat is dependent on the
coolant temperature and is thus not fully
attained until the engine is warm.
Picture no: 14145s.tif
Air flow
Adjusted using centre rotary switch.
The rate of air flow is determined by the
fan. The fan should therefore also be
switched on during a journey.

Ventilation
zSet the temperature to the desired
setting.
z Switch fan on, select fan setting
according to requirements.
z For maximum ventilation in head area:
set air distribution switch to M and open
all vents.
z For ventilation to foot well: Set air
distribution switch to K.
z For simultaneous ventilation to the head
area and the foot well: Set air
distribution switch to L. Heating
For rapid warming of the passenger
compartment:
z
Turn the temperature switch clockwise as
far as it will go (warm).
z Set the fan to speed 3.
z Set air distribution switch to desired
position, preferably position J, 3 116. The comfort and general well-being of the
vehicle occupants are to a large extent
dependent on a suitab
le ventilation and
heating setting.
To achieve stratifica tion of temperature
with a pleasant "cool head and warm feet"
effect, set the rotary air distribution switch
to K, J or L, set temperature rotary
switch to any position (in centre range with
temperature stratification effect).
