X Activate ATTENTION ASSIST with the on-
board computer (Y page116).
Symbol 0046appears in the multi-function
display.
If ATTENTION ASSIST is active, it wil lnot warn
you until at least 20 minutes after you rjour-
ney has begun. You then hea ranintermittent
warning tone and the Attention Assist:
Time for abreak? message appears in the
multi-function display.
X If necessary, take abreak.
X Press 0064to confirm the message.
On long journeys, take regularb reaks in good
time to allow yourself to rest properly .Ifyou
do not take abrea kand ATTENTION ASSIST
still detects fatigu eorincreasing inattentive-

optimum air conditioning:
R activat ethe air conditioning using
the 005A and005C buttons .The indica-
to rlamps abov ethe 005A and005C but-
tons come on .You can also set th eair-
flo wa nd air distribution of th eautomatic
air conditioning to on eofthree levels
(FOCUS/MEDIUM/DIFFUSE). You can
set th edesired leve lusin gbutton 0072.The
MEDIUM leve lisrecommended.
R set th etem perature to 22 †.
R only use th e"demisting "function briefly,
until th ewindscree nisclear again.
R only use th e"air-recirculation "mode
briefly, e.g. if there are unpleasan tout-
side odour sorwhen in atunnel. Other-
wise, th ewindows could mis tupdue to
al ack of fresh air.
R use th e"ZONE "function to adopt the
temperature settings on th edriver' sside
for th efront-pa ssenger side and th erear
compartmen taswell. The indicator lamp
abov ethe 00D8 buttongoes out.
R use th e"residual heat "function if you
want to heat or ventilate th evehicle inte-
rior when th eignition is switched off .The
"residual heat "function can only be acti-
vated or deactivate dwitht he ignition

th ea ir supply and air circulation are also switched off
.Onlys elect this settin gbriefly,

there is arisk of entrapment ,pres sthe
0074 button again .Pres sthe button for stop-

The "residual heat "function is only available
with THERMOTRONIC luxur y3-zon eauto-
matic climate control*.
It is possible to mak euse of th eresidual heat
of th eengine to continue heating th estation-
ary vehicle for up to 30 minutes after the
engine has been switched off .The heating
tim edepends on th etem peratur ethath as
been set.
Coupé: th e"residual heat "function only
work soptimally when th eside windows and
panorama slidin gsunroof* are closed.
i The blower will run at alow speed regard-
less of th eairflow setting.
i If you activat ethe "residual heat "function
at high temperatures, only th eventilation
will be activated. The blower run sat
medium speed.
i It is possible that th e"residual heat "func-
tio nm ay be activated automatically an hour
after th ekeyis removed. The vehicle is then
ventilate dfor 30 minutes to dry th eair con-

Wind deflector
0047extends. The head
restraints on the rear bench seats and AIR-
CAP draught stop 008Amove to the centre posi-
tion simultaneously.
If one or two passengers in the rear compart-
ment then fasten their seat belts, the head
restraints in the rear bench seats and AIRCAP
draught stop 008Amove to the upper position.
i If, when AIRCAP is extended, you park
your vehicle with the soft top down and
remove the key, the wind deflector and the
head restraints in the rear compartment
retract automatically. When you return to
your vehicle and start the engine again, the
wind deflector and the head restraints in
the rear compartment are extended again.
i AIRCAP cannot be extended or retracted
if the vehicle speed exceeds 160 km/h. Retracting AIRCAP X
Turn the key to position 2in the ignition
lock.
X Press button 0046.
The two indicato rlamps on the AIRCAP but-
ton go out. Wind deflector 0047retracts. The
head restraints on the rear bench seats and
AIRCAP draught stop 008Amove to the low-
est position simultaneously.
i If there are passengers wearing seat belts
in the rear compartment ,the head
restraints on the rear bench seats and the
AIRCAP draught stop remain in the upper
position.

the loading guidelines.
Otherwise, vehicle occupant scould
be injured by the load being thrown around in
the event of sharp braking, asudden change
in direction or an accident.

Even if you follow all the loading guidelines,
the load will increase the risk of injury in the
event of an accident. G
Risk of poisoning
Keep the boot lid closed while the vehicle is
in operation .Otherwise, you could be pois-

lines. Notify aquali fied specialist workshop

X To open: press the fuel filler flap in the
direction of arrow 0046.
The fuel filler flap opens slightly.
X Open the fuel filler flap.
X Turn the fuel filler cap anti-clockwise and
remove it.
X Insert the fuel filler cap into the holder
bracket on the inside of filler flap 0047.
X Only fill the tank until the pump nozzle
switches off.
! Overfilling the fuel tank could damage the
fuel system.
X To close: replace the fuel filler cap and turn
it clockwise. The fuel filler cap audibly
engages.
X Close the fuel filler flap. Petrol (EN 228)
! Refuel using only unleaded, sulphur-free
premium grade petrol with aminimum
octan enumber of 95 RON/85 MON con-
formin gtoEuropean standard EN 228.
Otherwise, you could impair engine output
or damage the engine. i
Asatemporary measure, only when the
recommended fuel is not available, you
may also use regular unleaded petrol,
91 RON/82. 5MON. This may reduce
engine performance and increase fuel con-
sumption. Avoid driving at full throttle.
In some countries, the fuel grade available
may not be adequate and could cause cok-
ing around the inlet valve. In such cases,
and in consultation with aMercedes-Benz
Servic eCentre, the petrol may be mixed
with the additive recommended by
Mercedes-Benz (part no.
A000989254510). You must observe the
notes and mixing ratios specified on the
container.

Risk of fire
Do not use petrol to refuel vehicles with adie-
sel engine. Do not mix diesel with petrol. This
would result in damage to the fuel system and
engine, which could lead to avehicle fire.
! Refuel using only diesel which conforms
to European standard EN 590 or German
standard DIN 51628. Otherwise, you could
impair engine output or damage the engine.
! When refuelling vehicles with adiesel par-
ticulate filter in countries outside the EU,
only low-sulphur Euro diesel with less than
0.005 percent sulphur content by weight
(50 ppm) should be used.
! In countries in which diesel with ahigher
sulphur content is available, the engine oil
should be renewed at more frequent inter-
vals. More information about intervals for
changin gthe engine oil can be obtained
from any Mercedes-Benz Servic eCentre.
! Using fuel that does not comply with the
European standard EN 590 or the German Refuelling
