AV CONTROL UNIT : CONSULT-III FunctionINFOID:0000000003776789
CONSULT-III can display each diagnostic item us
ing the diagnostic test modes shown following.
Self-diagnosis results
• In CONSULT-III self-diagnosis, self-diagnosis results and error history are displayed collectively.
• The current malfunction indicates “CRNT”. The past malfunction indicates “PAST”.
• The timing is displayed as “0” if any of the error codes [U1000], [U1010], [U1300] and [U1310] is detected.
The counter increases by 1 if the condition is normal at the next ignition switch ON cycle.

U1000 CAN COMM CIRCUIT
DescriptionINFOID:0000000003776791
CAN (Controller Area Network) is a serial communication line for real time application. It is an on-vehicle mul-
tiplex communication line with high data communication speed and excellent error detection ability. Many elec-
tronic control units are equipped onto a vehicle and each control unit shares information and links with other
control units during operation (not independent). In CAN communication, control units are connected with 2
communication lines (CAN-H, CAN-L) allowing a high rate of information transmission with less wiring. Each
control unit transmits/receives data but selectively reads required data only.

If some DTCs are displayed at the same time, per
form inspections one by one based on the following priority
chart.

NOTE: Details of time display
CRNT: Displays when there is a malfunction now or after returning to the normal condition until turning igni-
tion switch OFF → ON again.
1 - 39: Displayed if any previous ma lfunction is present when current conditi on is normal. It increases like 1
→ 2 → 3...38 → 39 after returning to the normal condition whenever ignition switch OFF → ON. The counter
remains at 39 even if the number of cycles exceeds it. It is counted from 1 again when turning ignition switch
OFF → ON after returning to the normal condi tion if the malfunction is detected again.
