o Do not tamper with or disconnect
SRS wiring, or other components of the SRS system. Doing so could result in injury, due to acci- dental firing of the airbags or byrendering the SRS inoperative.
o If components of the air bag sys-
tem must be discarded, or if thevehicle must be scrapped, certain safety precautions must be ob- served. Your Hyundai dealerknows these precautions and can give you the necessary informa- tion. Failure to follow these precautions and procedures could increase therisk of personal injury.
o If you sell your vehicle, make cer-
tain that this manual is trans-ferred to the new owner.
o If your car was flooded and has
soaked carpeting or water on floor-ing, you shouldn't try to start the engine; have the car towed to an authorised Hyundai dealer.
o Modification to SRS components
or wiring, including the addition of any kind of badges to the pad cover or modifications to the bodystructure, can adversely affect SRS performance and lead to possible injury.
o For cleaning the horn pad, use only a soft, dry cloth or one whichhas been moistened with plainwater. Solvents or cleaners could adversely affect the airbag cover and proper deployment of the sys-tem.
o No objects should be placed over
or near the label identifying the airbag on the steering wheel and instrument panel, because any such object could cause harm ifthe vehicle is in a crash severe enough to cause the air bag to inflate.
o If the air bag inflates, it must be replaced by an authorised Hyundaidealer. o Do not replace the bumper or the
bumper guard with the one otherthan the Hyundai genuine parts.Otherwise, it can adversely affect SRS performance and lead to un- expected injury.

C160H01A-DAT Use Approved Anti-Freeze in Window Washer System To keep the water in the window washer system from freezing, add an approvedanti-freeze solution in accordance with instructions on the container. Window washer anti-freeze is available fromHyundai dealers and most auto parts outlets. Do not use engine coolant or other types of anti-freeze as these maydamage the paint finish.
C160G01A-DAT To Keep Locks from Freezing To keep the locks from freezing, squirt an approved de-icer fluid or glycerineinto the key opening. If a lock is cov- ered with ice, squirt it with an approved de-icing fluid to remove the ice. If thelock is frozen internally, you may be able to thaw it out by using a heated key. Handle the heated key with care toavoid injury. NOTE: The proper temperature for using the immobiliser key is from -40°C to 80°C. If you heat the immobiliser key over 80°C to open a frozen lock, itmay cause damage to the transpon- der in its head.
C160E01A-AAT Change to "Winter Weight" Oil if Necessary In some climates it is recommended that a lower viscosity "winter weight" oilbe used during cold weather. See Sec- tion 9 for recommendations. If you aren't sure what weight oil you should use,consult your Hyundai dealer. C160F01A-AAT Check Spark Plugs and Ignition System Inspect your spark plugs as described in Section 6 and replace them if neces- sary. Also check all ignition wiring and components to be sure they are notcracked, worn or damaged in any way.

5. If the water pump drive belt is broken
or coolant is leaking out, stop the engine immediately and call the near- est Hyundai dealer for assistance. WARNING:
Do not remove the radiator cap whenthe engine is hot. This can allowcoolant to be blown out of the open- ing and cause serious burns.
!WARNING (DIESEL ONLY):
Never work on injection system with engine running or within 30 secondsafter shutting off engine. High pres- sure pump, rail, injectors and high pressure pipes are subject to highpressure even after the engine stopped. The fuel jet produced by fuel leaks may cause serious injury,if it touch the body. People using pacemakers should not move than 30cm closer to the ECU or wiringharness within the engine room while engine is running, since the high currents in the Common Rail systemproduce considerable magnetic fields. 6. If you cannot find the cause of the
overheating, wait until the engine temperature has returned to normal. Then, if coolant has been lost, care- fully add coolant to the reservoir(page 6-10) to bring the fluid level in the reservoir up to the halfway mark.
7. Proceed with caution, keeping alert for further signs of overheating. Ifoverheating happens again, call a Hyundai dealer for assistance.
CAUTION:
Serious loss of coolant indicatesthere is a leak in the cooling system and this should be checked as soon as possible by a Hyundai dealer.

SPARE TYRE
D040A01CM-DAT TEMPORARY SPARE TYRE The following instructions for the tem- porary spare tyre should be observed:
1. Check inflation pressure as soon as possible after installing the spare tyre, and adjust to the specified pres- sure. The tyre pressure should be periodically checked and maintainedat the specified pressure while the tyre is stored.

E040E01S-DAT Cleaning the Windows You may use any household window cleaner on the windows. However, when cleaning the inside of the rear windowbe careful not to damage the rear win- dow defroster wiring. When cleaning rear windows wipe along the defrosterbars rather than across.
E040D01A-AAT Cleaning the Seat Belts To clean the seat belts, use a cloth or sponge with mild soap or detergent andwarm water. Do not use strong deter- gents, dye, bleach or abrasive materi- als on the seat belts as this may weakenthe fabric. While cleaning the belts, inspect them for excessive wear, cuts, fraying orother signs of damage and replace them if necessary.
E040C01A-AAT Cleaning the Carpets Use a foam-type carpet cleaner. Clean- ers of this type are available in aerosol cans in liquid form or powder. Read theinstructions and follow them exactly. Using a vacuum cleaner with the appro- priate attachment, remove as much dirtfrom the carpets as possible. Apply the foam following the manufacturer's di- rections, then rub in overlapping circles.Do not add water. These cleaners work best when the carpet is kept as dry as possible.
During tanning operations, sufficientoils are incorporated through process-ing that none need be applied during the life of the leather. Oil applied to the finished surface will in no way help theleather and may do more harm than good. Varnishes and furniture polishes should never be used under any condi-tions.

A clogged filter can limit the speed at
which the vehicle may be driven, dam-age the emission system and cause hard starting. If an excessive amountof foreign matter accumulates in the fuel tank, the filter may require re- placement more frequently. After installing a new filter, run the
engine for several minutes, and checkfor leaks at the connections. Fuel fil- ters should be installed by trained technicians.

!WARNING:
The cooling fan is controlled by engine coolant temperature and may sometimes operate even when the engine is not running. Use extremecaution when working near the blades of the cooling fan, so that you are not injured by a rotating fanblade. As the engine coolant tem- perature decreases, the fan will au- tomatically shut off. This is a nor-mal condition.

Replacing Accessory Fuse
The fuse box for the lights and other electrical accessories will be found low on the dashboard on the driver'sside. Inside the box you will find a list showing the circuits protected by each fuse. If any of your car's lights or other electrical accessories stop working, a blown (open) fuse could be the reason.If the fuse has burned out, you will see that the metal strip inside the fuse has melted through. If you suspect a blownfuse, follow this procedure:
CAUTION:
When replacing a fusible link, never
use anything but a new fusible link with the same or lower amperage rating. Never use a piece of wire ora higher-rated fusible link. This could result in serious damage and create a fire hazard.

CHECKING AND REPLACING FUSES
A fusible link will melt if the electrical circuits from the battery are ever over- loaded, thus preventing damage to theentire wiring harness. (This could be caused by a short in the system draw- ing too much current.) If this everhappens, have a Hyundai dealer deter- mine the cause, repair the system and replace the fusible link. The fusiblelinks are located in a fuse box for easy inspection. G200A01A-AAT
