PETROL - DIESEL MANUAL OR AUTOMATIC GEARBOX
INSTRUMENT PANELS
Panel grouping together the vehicle operation indication dials and warning lamps.
Depending on the version, the instrument panel may have permanent back-lighting.
Dials
1. Rev counter.
Indicates the speed of rotation of the engine (x 1 000 rpm).
2. Vehicle speed.
Indicates the current speed of the moving vehicle (km/h or mph).
3. Fuel level.
Indicates the quantity of fuel remaining in the tank.
4. Screen.
5. Display management button
Alternates display between range and trip mileage recorder.
Servicing information.
Resets the selected function to zero (trip distance recorder or service
indicator).
6. Instrument panel lighting button.
Adjusts the brightness of the lighting of the instruments and controls.

Indicator and warning lamps
Visual indicators informing the driver that a system is in operat ion (operation or
deactivation indicator lamps) or of the occurrence of a fault (wa rning lamp).
When the ignition is switched on
Certain warning lamps come on for a few seconds when the vehi cle's ignition is
switched on.
When the engine is started, these same warning lamps should switch off.
If they remain on, before moving off, refer to the informati on on the warning lamp
concerned.
Operation indicator lamps
I f o n e o f t h e f o l l o w i n g i n d i c a t o r l a m p s c o m e s o n , t h i s c o n fi r m s t h a t t h e c o r r e s p o n d i n g
system has come into operation. The warning lamps may come
o n c o n t i n u o u s l y ( fi x e d ) o r fl a s h .
Certain warning lamps may
come on in two different modes.
Only by relating the type of light-
ing to the operating status of the
vehicle can it be ascertained
whether the situation is normal
or whether a fault has occurred.
Associated warnings
The switching on of certain warning lamps may be accompanied b y an audible
signal and a message on the multifunction screen.

Left-hand
direction

buzzer. The lighting stalk is pressed
down.
Right-hand

The lighting stalk is pushed up.
Sidelamps fi x e d . The lighting stalk is in the
"Sidelamps" position. Turn the control to the desired position.
Dipped beam
headlamps fi x e d . The lighting stalk is in the
"Dipped beam headlamps"
position. Turn the control to the desired position.

Front
foglamps fi x e d . The front foglamps are
switched on. Turn the ring on the stalk rearwards twice to
switch off the front foglamps.
Rear
foglamps fi x e d . The rear foglamps are
switched on. Turn the ring on the stalk rearwards to switch off
the rear foglamps.
Diesel engine
pre-heating fi x e d . The ignition switch is at the

nd
position (ignition on).
Wait until the warning lamp has switched off before
starting.
The duration for which the warning lamp is on is
determined by the climatic conditions.
Parking brake fi x e d . The parking brake is
applied or not properly
released. Release the parking brake to switch off the
warning lamp, keeping your foot on the brake
pedal.
Observe the safety recommendations.

Warning lamp is on Cause Action/Observations
Engine
coolant
temperature fi x e d b l u e . On starting the engine, it
indicates that the engine is
cold. After a few minutes driving, it swiches off to
indicate that the engine temperature is normal.
In order to protect your engine, avoid driving too
hard until the warning lamp has switched off.
Foot on the
brake pedal fi x e d . The brake pedal must be
pressed. To start the engine, put the automatic gearbox
selector lever in position
P .
Automatic
wiping fi x e d . The wiper control is pushed
downwards. Automatic front wiping is activated.
Main beam
headlamps fi x e d . The lighting stalk is pulled
towards you. Pull the stalk to return to dipped beam
headlamps.

Airbags temporarily.
This lamp comes on for
a few seconds when you
turn on the ignition, then
switches off. This lamp should switch off when the engine is
started.
If it does not switch off, contact a CITROËN
dealer.
fi x e d . One of the airbag or seat
belt pretensioner systems
has a fault. Have it checked by a CITROËN dealer.
Seat belt not
fastened/
unfastened fi x e d t h e n
fl a s h i n g
accompanied by an
increasing
audible signal. The driver and/or the front
passenger has not fastened
or has unfastened their seat
belt.
Pull the strap then insert the tongue in the
buckle.
Water in
Diesel fi x e d . T h e d i e s e l fi l t e r c o n t a i n s
water. Risk of damage to the injection system on Diesel
engines.
Contact a CITROËN dealer without delay.
Power
steering fi x e d . The power steering has a
fault. Drive carefully at reducd speed.
Have it checked by a CITROËN dealer.

Particle
emissions
fi l t e r ( D i e s e l )
fi x e d , a s s o c i a t e d
temporarily with lighting of the
service warning lamp. This indicates that the
p a r t i c l e e m i s s i o n s fi l t e r
is starting to become
saturated. As soon as driving conditions allow, regenerate th
e
fi l t e r b y d r i v i n g a t a s p e e d o f a t l e a s t 3 5 m p h
(60 km/h) until the service warning lamp switches o ff.
fi x e d , a s s o c i a t e d
temporarily with
lighting of the service warning lamp. This indicates the minimum
level for the Diesel fuel
additive reservoir. Have the reservoir topped up as soon as
possible by a CITROËN dealer.

The instrument panel remains lit with
the vehicle speed and cruise control or
speed limiter information, if in use.
If there is an alert or a change in a func-
tion or to a setting, the black panel mode
is interrupted.
Activation
With the lighting on, press the left
hand button of the instrument panel
several times to progressively re-
duce the dashboard lighting level.
Press the button again to reduce the
lighting to the minimum level and
switch off the ambience lighting.
Press the button again to activate
the black panel.
The dashboard lighting rheostat re-
mains operational when in black panel
mode.
Black panel
System allowing certain displays to be
switched off for night driving.
Activation
When the lighting is on:
press the button to change the
brightness of the instruments and
controls,
when the level of brightness required
is reached, release the button.
Deactivation
When the lighting is off, or in day mode
o n v e h i c l e s fi t t e d w i t h d a y t i m e r u n n i n g
lamps, pressing the button does not
have any effect.
Lighting rheostat
System for manual adjustment of the
brightness of the instruments and con-
trols in relation to the exterior brightness.

Vehicle configuration
O n c e t h e " V e h i c l e C o n fi g u r a t i o n " m e n u
has been selected, you can activate or
deactivate the following equipment:
- wiper linked with reverse gear (refer to the "Visibility" section),
- "guide-me-home" lighting (refer to the "Visibility" section),
- parking assistance (refer to the "Driving" section).
Options
Once the "Options" menu has been se-
lected, you can start diagnostics of the
status of the equipment (active, not active,
faulty). Display settings
Once the "Display settings" menu has
been selected, you can gain access to
the following settings:
- year,
- month,
- day,
- hour,
- minutes,
- 12 or 24 hour mode.
Once you have selected a setting,
press the " " or " " buttons to
change its value.
Press the " " or " " buttons to
switch respectively to the previous
or next setting.
Press the "OK" button to save the
change and return to the normal
display or press the "ESC" button
to cancel. Languages
Once the "Languages" menu has been
selected, you can change the language
used by the display (Français, Italiano,
Nederlands, Portugues, Portugues-
Brasil, Deutsch, English, Espanol).
Units
Once the "Units" menu has been se-
lected, you can change the units of the
following parameters:
- temperature (°C or °F),
- fuel consumption (l/100 km, mpg or
km/l).
Once the fuel consumption units
have been set to mpg, the infor-
mation in the instrument panel
screen on speed and distance
will also be in mph and miles.

"Trip computer" menu
Once this menu has been selected, you
can consult information concerning the
status of the vehicle (warnings log, status
of functions, etc.)
Alert log
This summarises the active warning
messages, displaying them in succes-
sion on the multifunction screen. "Personalisation-
Configuration" menu
Define the vehicle parameters
Once this menu has been selected, you
can activate or deactivate the following
equipment:
- wiper linked to reverse gear (refer to the "Visibility" section),
- "guide-me-home" lighting ,
- parking assistance (refer to the "Driving" section).
In the "
Trip computer
" menu, select
one of the following applications:
Press the "MENU" button to gain
access to the general menu .
Press the arrows, then the "OK"
button to select the "
Trip computer
"
menu.
Once this menu has been selected, you
can gain access to the following func-
tions:
- d e fi n e t h e v e h i c l e p a r a m e t e r s ,
- d i s p l a y c o n fi g u r a t i o n ,
- selection of the language.
Status of functions
This summarises the status (active or
inactive) of the vehicle's functions.
Enter distance to destination
This allows you to enter an approximate
d i s t a n c e u n t i l y o u r fi n a l d e s t i n a t i o n .

Example: setting of the duration of the
"guide-me-home" lighting
Press the " " or " " buttons, then
the "OK" button to select the menu
required.
Press the " " or " " buttons,
then the "OK" button to select the
"Guide-me-home lighting" line.
Press the " " or " " buttons to
set the value required (15, 30 or
60 seconds), then press the "OK"

Language selection
Once this menu has been selected,
you can change the language used
by the display (Deutsch, English,
Espanol, Français, Italiano, Nederlands,
Portugues, Portugues-Brasil, Türkçe
). "Telephone" Menu
F o r s a f e t y r e a s o n s , c o n fi g u r a t i o n
by the driver of the multifunction
screen must only be done when
stationary.
Display configuration
Once this menu has been selected, you
can gain access to the following settings:
- brightness-video setting,
- date and time setting,
- selection of units.
Once the fuel consumption units
have been changed to mpg, the
information in the screen relat-
ing to speed and distance also
changes to mph and miles re-
spectively. With Audio system on, once this menu
i s s e l e c t e d y o u c a n c o n fi g u r e y o u r
Bluetooth hands-free kit (pairing), view
the various telephone directories (list
of calls, services...) and manage your
calls (call, hang up, second call, secret
mode...).
