EXTERNAL TEMPERATURE
NOTESThere must be no present or stored faults.
Engine stopped, ignition on.
Use the wiring diagrams Technical Note for Scénic II ph2, Espace IV ph2, Trafic II
ph2 or Kangoo 2.
Carry out a fault finding procedure on the computer sending the exterior temperature signal:
–Scénic II ph2, Kangoo2, see 87B, Passenger compartment connection unit
–Espace IV ph2, see 83A, Instrument panel
For Trafic II ph2, check the condition and connection of the connector of component 1714 and the connector of
component 240.
If the connector(s) is faulty and if there is a repair procedure (see Technical Note 6015A, Repairing electrical
wiring, W iring: Precautions for repair), repair the connector, otherwise replace the wiring.
Check the insulation, continuity and the absence of interference resistance of the following connections:
–connection code 47C,
–connection code 47D,
between components 1714 and 240.
If the connection or connections are faulty and there is a repair procedure (see Technical Note 6015A, Electrical
wiring repair, Wiring: Precautions for repair), repair the wiring, otherwise replace it.
If the temperature measured by the sensor does not correspond to the exterior temperature, measure the
resistance of the sensor between connections 47C and 47D.
The resistance should be approximately 3000 Ω ± 300 Ω at 20˚C.
Replace the sensor if it is not correct (see MR 408 (TRAFIC), Mechanical, 84A, Control - Signals, Temperature
sensor: Removal - Refitting).
If the fault is still present, contact the techline.
AFTER REPAIRRepeat the conformity check from the start.

VEHICLE SPEED
NOTESThere must be no present or stored faults.
Use the wiring diagrams Technical Note for Scénic II, Espace IV, Trafic II or
Kangoo 2.
Run fault finding on the vehicle speed computer, ABS or ABS/ESP system depending on the equipment level (For
Scénic II, see MR 372, 38G, Vehicle speed computer or 38C, Anti-lock braking system).
For Espace IV, see MR 407, 38G, Vehicle speed computer or 38C, Anti-lock braking system, see 38G,
Vehicle speed computer or 38C, Anti-lock braking system).
If there are no faults on the vehicle speed computer, ABS or ABS/ESP system, check the insulation, continuity
and the absence of interference resistance on the following connection:
–connection code 47F between component 261 and 118, 1094 or 953 depending on the equipment level.
If the connection is faulty and there is a repair procedure (see Technical Note 6015A, Electrical wiring repair,
Wiring: Precautions for repair), repair the wiring, otherwise replace it.
If the fault is still present, contact the techline.
AFTER REPAIRRepeat the conformity check from the start.

BATTERY VOLTAGE
NOTESThere must be no present or stored faults.
Use the wiring diagrams Technical Note for Scénic II ph2, Espace IV ph2, Trafic II
ph2 or Kangoo 2.
Check the permanent + supply fuse of component 261.
If the voltage is at minimum:
Check the battery and the charge circuit:
–Scénic II ph2 and Kangoo 2, see 87G, Engine compartment connection unit.
–Espace II ph2 and Trafic II ph2, see Technical Note 6014A, Checking the charging circuit.
If the voltage is at maximum:
Check that the charging voltage is correct with and without electrical consumers switched on.
Check the insulation, continuity and the absence of interference resistance of the following connections:
Scénic II ph2:
–connection code BCP3 between components 1714 and 260.
–connection code MT between component 261 and earth MT.
Espace IV ph2:
–connection code BCP4 between components 261 and 710.
–connection code MV between component 261 and earth MV.
Kangoo 2:
–connection code BP26 between components 261 and 260.
–connection code MT between component 261 and earth MT.
If the connection or connections are faulty and there is a repair procedure (see Technical Note 6015A, Electrical
wiring repair, Wiring: Precautions for repair), repair the wiring, otherwise replace it.

Try the diagnostic tool on another vehicle.
Is it possible to establish dialogue with another computer?
YES NO
On the defective vehicle.
Check the battery voltage.
Check the condition and
connection of the battery
connections.
Check the condition of the fuses.
Check:
–the connection between the diagnostic tool and the
diagnostic sensor (wiring in good condition),
–the connection between the diagnostic sensor and the
diagnostic socket (wiring in good condition).
