on the style of driving, in
parti cular for vehicles which
are used in town, over short
distances.
Brake pads
It may be necessary to check
the thickness of the pads,
even between services. Where the handbrake travel is
too great or there is a reduc-
tion in the performance of the
system, the handbrake should
be adjusted.
Have the system checked by a
PEUGEOT dealer.
Handbrake
To ensure the best perfor-
mance from components as
important as the power stee-
ring and the braking system,
the manufacturer selects and offers
s p e c i fi c p r o d u c t s , o n l y u s e p r o d u c t s
recommended by PEUGEOT .
To prevent damage to the electrical
units, high pressure washing of the
engine compartment is strictly prohib-
ited .

Open the reservoir, with the engine
at ambient temperature, the level
should always be above the MIN
mark, close to the MAX mark.
Particle emission filter - Additive reservoir (Diesel)
It is imperative that the maintenance
o f t h e p a r t i c l e e m i s s i o n fi l t e r a n d t h e
fi l l i n g o f t h e a d d i t i v e r e s e r v o i r a r e
carried out by a PEUGEOT dealer in
accordance with the manufacturer's
servicing schedule.

CHANGING A WHEEL
Park the vehicle on level, stable
and non-slippery ground.
Apply the handbrake, switch off the
i g n i t i o n a n d e n g a g e fi r s t o r r e v e r s e
gear (position P for the automatic
gearbox).
Weight of the spare wheel: approxi-
mately 20 kg. Never go underneath a ve-
hicle which is supported only
by a jack.

Recommendations when using the
temporary spare wheel *
Your vehicle may be equipped with a
spare wheel with a different rim from
the standard wheel.
After use, be sure to replace it as soon
as possible.
Observe the following advice to avoid
altering the handling of the vehicle:
- do not drive above 50 mph (80 km/h),
- d o n o t fi t a w h e e l t r i m ,
- drive carefully,
- c h e c k t h e i n fl a t i o n p r e s s u r e i n d i -cated on the label.

After changing the wheel:
- have the tightening of the bolts and the tyre pressure of the spare wheel
checked as soon as possible.

have the punctured wheel repaired and
r e fi t i t t o t h e v e h i c l e a s s o o n a s p o s s i b l e .
- have the spare wheel checked and replace it in its boot recess.
Fitting a wheel
Position the wheel.
Tighten the bolts by hand.
Partly tighten the bolts using the
wheelbrace 1 .
Fold the jack 2 and remove it.
Fully tighten the bolts using the
wheelbrace 1 .

Put the tool holder back in position.

correct position, to prevent any defor-
m a t i o n o f t h e fl o o r w h e n l o a d e d .
Tighten the spare wheel securing
strap to prevent noise and for your
safety in the event of impact.
Reminder: for your safety, always
change a wheel:
- on level, stable, non-slippery ground,
- with the handbrake applied,
- w i t h fi r s t o r r e v e r s e g e a r e n g a g e d ( p o - sition P for the automatic gearbox),
- never go underneath a vehicle which is supported only by a jack.
Tools available
The following tools are located in
the holder in the centre of the spare
wheel:
1. Wheelbrace.
Permits removal of the wheel trim and removal of the wheel securing
bolts.
2. Jack with integrated handle.
Permits raising of the vehicle.
3. Removable towing eye.
See corresponding section.
4. Bolt cover tool. Permits removal of
the bolt protectors (covers) on alloy
wheels. Removal
For vehicles with alloy wheels,
remove the covers using tool 4 .
Loosen the wheel bolts.
Place the jack 2 in one of the four
locations underneath the vehicle
(the nearest one to the wheel to be
changed).
Extend the jack 2 until its base is in
contact with the ground.
Unscrew the bolts and remove the
wheel.
