KEYS
The keys allow you to independently
operate the locks on the front doors,
the boot, the passenger air bag dis-
a r m i n g s w i t c h , t h e f u e l fi l l e r c a p , a n d
the steering lock and to switch on the
ignition.
STARTING
The 4 positions of the key in the
ignition:
1. STOP position:
the ignition is off.
2.
1st notch, Accessories position:
the ignition is off but the acces-
sories can be used.
3. 2nd notch, Running position:
the ignition is on.
4. Starting position:
operates the starter.
Remote control
Pressing button
A remotely locks the
vehicle.

the direction indicators for approxi-
mately two seconds.
Pressing button B remotely unlocks
the vehicle.

Central locking and unlocking
From the driver's door, you can lock
and unlock the doors and the boot. If
one of the doors or the boot is open,
the central locking does not work. Leaving the ignition key in

a buzzer reminds you of this when
opening the driver's door.
Locating the vehicle
To locate your vehicle, when you
have left it locked in a car park:
press button A , the courtesy
lights will come on and the
i n d i c a t o r l i g h t s fl a s h f o r a f e w
seconds. Steering lock
Before starting, unlock the steering
if necessary, by gently turning the
steering wheel at the same time as
you turn the key.
It is advisable to press the clutch
pedal while operating the starter, to
make starting easier.

With central locking:
The tailgate is locked and unlocked
at the same time as the doors.
"Tailgate open" warning
When the engine is running , if the
tailgate has not been closed correctly
you are warned by an audible signal.

ADVICE ON CHILD SEATS
The incorrect installation
of a child seat in a vehicle
compromises the child's protection in
the event of an accident.
R e m e m b e r t o f a s t e n t h e s e a t b e l t s o r
the child seat harnesses keeping the
slack i n r e l a t i o n t o t h e c h i l d ' s b o d y t o
a minimum, even for short journeys.
For optimum installation of the "for-
ward facing" child seat, ensure that
t h e b a c k o f t h e c h i l d s e a t i s i n c o n t a c t
w i t h t h e b a c k o f t h e v e h i c l e ' s s e a t
and that the head restraint does not
cause any discomfort.
I f t h e h e a d r e s t r a i n t h a s t o b e r e -
moved, ensure that it is stored or
attached securely to prevent it from
b e i n g t h r o w n a r o u n d t h e v e h i c l e i n
t h e e v e n t o f s h a r p b r a k i n g . Children under the age of 10 must not
travel in the "forward facing" position
on the front passenger seat, unless
the rear seats are already occupied
b y o t h e r c h i l d r e n , c a n n o t b e u s e d o r
a r e a b s e n t .
D i s a r m t h e p a s s e n g e r a i r b a g w h e n
a "rear facing" child seat is installed
on the front seat. Otherwise, the child
w o u l d r i s k b e i n g s e r i o u s l y i n j u r e d o r

Installing a booster seat
T h e c h e s t p a r t o f t h e s e a t b e l t m u s t
b e p o s i t i o n e d o n t h e c h i l d ' s s h o u l d e r
without touching the neck.
Ensure that the lap part of the seat
b e l t p a s s e s c o r r e c t l y o v e r t h e c h i l d ' s
thighs.
PEUGEOT recommends the use of
a b o o s t e r s e a t w h i c h h a s a b a c k , fi t -
t e d w i t h a s e a t b e l t g u i d e a t s h o u l d e r
level. As a safety precaution, do not leave:
- one or more children alone and
unsupervised in a vehicle,
- a child or an animal in a vehicle which is exposed to the sun, with
the windows closed,
- the keys within reach of children inside the vehicle.
To prevent accidental opening of the
doors, use the "Child lock".

Changing the remote control

screw then unclip the casing using a
coin at the ring.

Key in ignition
A buzzer sounds on opening the driv-
er’s door, if the key has been left in
the ignition. Programming the remote
control
Switch off the ignition.
Switch the ignition on again.
Press button A i m m e d i a t e l y f o r a
few seconds.
S w i t c h o f f t h e i g n i t i o n a n d r e m o v e
t h e r e m o t e c o n t r o l k e y f r o m t h e
i g n i t i o n l o c k . T h e r e m o t e c o n t r o l
is now working again.
Central locking and unlocking
The keys allow you to lock or unlock
t h e d o o r s a n d b o o t , f r o m t h e d r i v e r ’ s
door.
If one of the doors or the boot is open,
the central locking does not work. The remote control
