not operate the wipers until th
e ice has melted and the blades
are freed, otherwise the wiper motor may be damaged.
To adjust intermittent intervalsWith the lever in the “INT” (speed-sensitive) position, the intermittent intervals can be adjusted by turning knob (A).NOTE●

is in the “ON” or “ACC” posi
tion and the headlamps are on.
Push the button once and the washer fluid will be sprayed on to the headlamps.NOTE●

Precautions to observe
when using wipers and
washers
E00507600027
●
If the moving wipers become blocked by ice or other deposits on the glass, the motor may burn out even if thewiper switch is turned to OFF. If obstruction occurs, park your vehicle in a safe place, turn off the ignition, and clean the deposits from the gla
ss so that the wipers operate
smoothly.
●
Do not use the wipers when the glass is dry. They may scratch the glass surface and the blades wear out prema-turely.
●
Before using the wipers in co
ld weather, check that the
wiper blades are not frozen onto the glass. The motor mayburn out if the wipers are used
with the blades frozen onto
the glass.
●
Avoid using the washer continuously for more than 20 seconds. Do not operate the wa
sher when the fluid reser-
voir is empty. Otherwise, the motor may burn out.
●
Periodically check the level of washer fluid in the reser- voir and refill if required. During cold weather, add a
recommended washer solution
that will not freeze in the wash
er reservoir. Failure to do
so could result in loss of washer function and frost dam- age to the system components.

Chrome parts
E00901400115
In order to prevent spots and corrosion of chrome parts, wash with water, dry thoroughly, and apply a special protective coat- ing. This should be done more frequently in winter.Aluminium wheels
E00901500363
1. Remove dirt using a sponge while sprinkling water on the
wheel.
2. Use neutral detergent on any dirt that cannot be removed
easily with water.Rinse off the neutral detergent after washing the wheel.
3. Dry the wheel thoroughly using a chamois leather or a soft
cloth.
Window glass
E00901600032
The window glass can normally be cleaned using only asponge and water. Glass cleaner can be used to re
move oil, grease, dead insects,
etc. After washing the glass, wipe dry with a clean, dry, softcloth. Never use the same cloth to wipe the window glass as would be used to wipe the paintwork; wax from the painted surfaces could adhere to the glass and reduce its transparencyand visibility.NOTE●
To clean the inside of the backdoor window, always use a soft cloth and wipe the wind
ow glass along the demister
heater element so as not to cause damage.
Wiper blades
E00901700059
Use a soft cloth and glass cleaner to remove grease, deadinsects, etc., from the wiper
blades. Replace the wiper blades
when they no longer wipe properly. (Refer to page 8-25.)
CAUTION
!●
Do not use a brush or other hard implement on the wheels.Doing so could scratch the wheels.
●
Do not use any cleaner th
at contains an abrasive
substance or is acidic or alkaline. Doing so couldcause the coating on the
wheels to peel or become
discoloured or stained.
●
Do not directly apply
hot water using a steam
cleaner or by any other means.
●
Contact with seawater and road deicer can cause corrosion. Rinse off such su
bstances as soon as pos-
sible.
