Turn the key to the ACC position and then push the key
and cylinder inward slightly and rotate the key to the
LOCK position. Then remove the key.NOTE:
²For vehicles not equipped with the Electronic Vehicle
Information Center (EVIC), features such as the power
window switches, radio, power sunroof or Sky Slidert
(if equipped), and power outlets will remain active for
45 seconds after the ignition switch is turned to the
LOCK position. Opening either front door will cancel
this feature.
²For vehicles equipped with the EVIC, features such as
the power window switches, radio, power sunroof or
Sky Slidert(if equipped), and power outlets will
remain active for up to 10 minutes after the ignition
switch is turned to the LOCK position. Opening either
front door will cancel this feature. The time for this
feature is programmable. For details, refer to ªDelay
Power Off to Accessories Until Exit,º under ªPersonal
Settings (Customer Programmable Features),º under
ªElectronic Vehicle Information Center (EVIC)º in
Section 4 of this manual.

The Security Alarm System is designed to protect your
vehicle; however, you can create conditions where the
system will give you a false alarm. If the previously
described arming sequence has occurred, the system will
arm regardless of whether you are inside or outside the
vehicle. If you remain inside the vehicle and open a door,
the alarm will sound. If this occurs, disarm the system.
Tamper Alert
If something has triggered the alarm in your absence, the
horn will sound three times when you unlock the doors.
Check the vehicle for tampering.
ILLUMINATED ENTRY SYSTEM
The interior lights will turn on when you use the Remote
Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitter or open a door.
This feature also turns on the approach lighting (if so
equipped). For details, refer to ªIllumination Approach,ºunder ªPersonal Settings (Customer Programmable Fea-
tures),º under ªElectronic Vehicle Information Center
(EVIC)º in Section 4 of this manual.
The interior lights will fade to off after about 30 seconds
or they will immediately fade to off once the ignition
switch is turned on.
NOTE:
²The illuminated entry system will not operate the
interior lights if the dimmer control is in the ªdefeatº
position (extreme downward position).
REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY
This system allows you to lock or unlock the doors and
liftgate, open the liftgate flip-up window, or activate the
panic alarm from distances up to 23 feet (7 meters) using
a hand held radio transmitter. The transmitter need not
be pointed at the vehicle to activate the system. However,
the line of transmission must not be blocked with metal
objects when using the transmitter.

Help Command
If you need assistance at any prompt, or if you want to
know your options at any prompt, say9Help9following
the beep. The UConnecttsystem will play all the options
at any prompt if you ask for help.
To activate the UConnecttsystem from idle, simply press
the ªPhoneº button and follow audible prompts for
directions. All UConnecttsystem sessions begin with a
press of the ªPhoneº button on the radio control head.
Cancel Command
At any prompt, after the beep, you can say9Cancel9and
you will be returned to the main menu. However, in a
few instances the system will take you back to the
previous menu.
Pair (Link) UConnecttSystem to a Cellular Phone
To begin using your UConnecttsystem, you must pair
your compatible BluetoothŸ enabled cellular phone.
To complete the pairing process, you will need to refer-
ence your cellular phone owner's manual. The UCon-
necttwebsite may also provide detailed instructions for
pairing.
The following are general phone to UConnecttSystem
pairing instructions:
²Press the ªPhoneº button to begin.
²After the9Ready9prompt and the following beep, say
9Setup Phone Pairing.9
²When prompted, after the beep, say9Pair a Phone9and
follow the audible prompts.
²You will be asked to say a four-digit pin number,
which you will later need to enter into your cellular.

a phone connection has been made.
The EVIC displays this symbol to indicate that
the ConnectŸ phone is currently not available.
Personal Settings (Customer Programmable
Features)
Personal Settings allows the driver to set and recall
features when the vehicle speed is at 0 mph (0 km/h)
(manual transmission) or when the gear selector lever is
in ªPº (Park) (auto transmission).Press and release the MENU button until Personal Set-
tings displays in the EVIC.
Use the SCROLL button to display one of the following
choices:
Language
When in this display you may select one of five lan-
guages for all display nomenclature, including the trip
functions and the navigation system (if equipped). Press
the FUNCTION SELECT button while in this display to
select English, Espanol, Deutsch, Italiano, or Francais.
Then, as you continue, the information will display in the
selected language.
NOTE:The EVIC will not change the UConnectŸ
language selection. For vehicles equipped with sales code
REQ or RES radio, refer to ªLanguage Selectionº under
ªHANDS±FREE COMMUNICATION (UConnectŸ)º for

Lock Doors Automatically at 15 mph (24 km/h)
When ON is selected, all doors will lock automatically
when the vehicle reaches a speed of 15 mph (24 km/h).
To make your selection, press and release the FUNC-
TION SELECT button until ªONº or ªOFFº appears.
Unlock Doors Automatically on Exit
When ON is selected, all doors will unlock when the
vehicle is stopped and the transmission is in the ªPº
(Park) or ªNº (Neutral) position and the driver's door is
opened. To make your selection, press and release the
FUNCTION SELECT button until ªONº or ªOFFº ap-
pears.
Remote Key Unlock
WhenDriver Door 1st Pressis selected, only the driver's
door will unlock on the first press of the remote keylessentry unlock button. When Driver Door 1st Press is
selected, you must press of the remote keyless entry
unlock button twice to unlock the passenger's doors.
WhenAll Doors 1st Pressis selected, all of the doors will
unlock on the first press of the remote keyless entry
unlock button. To make your selection, press and release
the FUNCTION SELECT button until ªDriver Door 1st
Pressº or ªAll Doors 1st Pressº appears.
Recall Memory with Remote Key Unlock Ð If
Equipped
When ON is selected, you can use your Remote Keyless
Entry Transmitter to recall one of two pre-programmed
memory profiles. Each memory profile contains desired
position settings for the driver seat, side mirror, adjust-
able pedals (if equipped), and power tilt and telescopic
steering column (if equipped), and a set of desired radio
station presets. When OFF is selected, only the memory
switch on the driver's door panel will recall memory
profiles. To make your selection, press and release the

45 seconds after the ignition switch is turned to the
LOCK position. Opening either front door will cancel this
feature.
NOTE:For vehicles equipped with the EVIC, the radio
and steering wheel radio controls (if equipped) will
remain active for up to 10 minutes after the ignition
switch is turned to the LOCK position. Opening either
front door will cancel this feature. The time is program-
mable. For details, refer to ªDelay Power Off to Accesso-
ries Until Exit,º under ªPersonal Settings (Customer
Programmable Features),º under ªElectronic Vehicle In-

Clock Setting Procedure
The GPS receiver in this system is synchronized to the
time data being transmitted by the GPS satellites. The
satellites' clock is Greenwich Mean Time (GMT). This is
the worldwide standard for time. This makes the sys-
tem's clock very accurate once the appropriate time zone
and daylight savings information is set.
Changing the Time Zone
1. Turn on the system.
2. Touch the screen where the time is displayed. The
clock setting menu will appear on the screen. If the words
ªTime: GPS Timeº are displayed at the top of the screen,
proceed to Step 4. Otherwise, proceed to Step 3.
3. If the words ªTime: User Clockº are displayed at the
top of the screen, touch the bottom of the screen where
the words ªUser Clockº are displayed. The GPS time
setting menu will appear on the screen.
4. Touch the screen where the words ªSet Time Zoneº are
displayed. The time zone selection menu will appear on
the screen.
5. Select a time zone by touching the screen where your
selection appears. If you do not see a time zone that you
want to select, touch the screen where the word ªPageº is
displayed to view additional time zones in the menu.

Press and hold the INFO button again for 3 seconds to
return to9elapsed time9display.
Operation Instructions - Auxiliary Mode
The auxiliary (AUX) jack is an audio input jack, which
allows the user to plug in a portable device such as an
MP3 player, or cassette player, and utilize the vehicle's
audio system to amplify the source and play through the
vehicle speakers.
Pushing the AUX button will change the mode to auxil-
iary device if the AUX jack is connected.
NOTE:The AUX device must be turned on and the
device's volume set to proper level. If the AUX audio is
not loud enough, turn the device's volume up. If the AUX
audio sounds distorted, turn the device's volume down.
TIME Button (Auxiliary Mode)
Press this button to change the display to time of day. The
time of day will display for 5 seconds (when ignition is
off).
