Automatic transmission
If position P is not selected, a warningchime will sound when the driver’sdoor is opened.
Electronic parking brake(EPB)
A warning chime will sound if:
•the driver’s door is opened beforethe EPB is applied.
•the EPB is still applied when thevehicle moves off.
•there is a cut in the power supply.
Frost
WARNING
Even if the temperature rises toabove +4ºC there is noguarantee that the road is free ofhazards caused by inclementweather.
A warning chime will sound in thefollowing conditions:
•+4ºC or lower: frost warning
•0ºC or lower: danger of icy roads
Key outside car
Vehicles with the key freesystem
If the engine is running and a passivekey is no longer detected within thevehicle interior, a chime will sound assoon as the door is closed.
Key-in-ignition
Except vehicles with the keyfree system
A warning tone will sound when thedriver’s door is opened if:
•the key is in the ignition.
Vehicles with the key freesystem
A warning tone will sound when thedriver’s door is opened if:
•the ignition switch is not pulledout.
•the spare key is in the ignition.
Lights on
A warning chime will sound if thedriver’s door is opened with theexterior lights switched on and theignition switched off.
Low fuel
A warning chime will sound at thefollowing ranges: 80 km (50 miles),40 km (25 miles), 20 km (12 miles), 0km (0 miles).

SETTINGS
Car Setup menu
Note:For road safety reasons,changes in the Car Setup menucan only be made while the vehicleis stationary. If this menu or one of itssub-menus is open when the vehiclebegins to move, the informationdisplay will automatically exit the CarSetup menu.
Use the rotary control to scrollthrough the displays and pressSET/RESET to choose a sub-menuand adjust the settings.
Scroll to the Car Setup displayusing the rotary control and press theSET/RESET button.
EHPAS personalisation
Note:When the vehicle is stationary,the steering assistance is optimizedin all three settings and does notdiffer noticeably.
Standard: The standard settingsuitable for all driving styles.
Sport: The steering assistance isreduced. This suits a sportier drivingstyle by increasing the feedbackthrough the steering wheel. The sportsetting is also an advantage whendriving on icy and snowy roadconditions.
Comfort: The steering assistanceis increased. The steering will feellighter and you will not need to exertas much force on the wheel.

Press the switch to toggle betweenoutside air and recirculated interiorair. The light in the switch indicatesoperation.

Recirculated air is switched offautomatically. If necessary turn theheated windows on.
Rapid heating of vehicleinterior
Ventilation
Set the air distribution control to facelevel or face level and footwell. Setthe blower to any position. Open theair vents to suit individualrequirements.
Air conditioning
Switching the air conditioningon and off
Note:For the air conditioning tooperate the engine must be running.
Press the switch to turn on or off. Thelamp in the switch indicates when airconditioning is selected.
If the blower is turned to position 0,the air conditioning will turn off. Whenthe blower is turned on again, the airconditioning will reactivateautomatically.
Cooling with outside air
Switch the air conditioning on.

CORRECT POSITION
WARNINGS
Do not adjust the seats whenthe vehicle is moving.
Only when you use the seat beltproperly, can it hold you in aposition that allows the airbag toachieve its optimum effect.
When you use them properly, theseat, head restraint, seat belt andairbags will provide optimumprotection in the event of a collision.We recommend that you:
•sit in an upright position with thebase of your spine as far back aspossible.
•do not recline the seatback morethan 30 degrees.
•adjust the head restraint so thatthe top of it is level with the top ofyour head and as far forwards aspossible, remaining comfortable.
•keep sufficient distance betweenyourself and the steering wheel.We recommend a minimum of254 millimetres (10 inches)between your breastbone and theairbag cover.
•hold the steering wheel with yourarms slightly bent.
•bend your legs slightly so that youcan press the pedals fully.
•position the shoulder strap of theseat belt over the centre of yourshoulder and position the lap straptightly across your hips.
Make sure that your driving positionis comfortable and that you canmaintain full control of your vehicle.

Comfort seat system
WARNING
Make sure that there is nothingin the luggage compartmentwhich could obstruct the movementof the seats or get damaged whenthe seats move rearwards.
The centre seat can be folded up andthe outboard seats moved rearwardsand slightly inboard to provide moreleg and shoulder room for the rearpassengers.
First, fold back the front of theluggage cover.
Fold up the centre seat by releasingthe lever on the underside of theseat.
The complete seat will moverearwards as the seat cushion isfolded up. Fold the seat back until itengages.
Pull the lever on the outer front edgeof the outboard seats and push theseats rearwards. As the seats sliderearwards, they also move slightlyinboard. After releasing the lever,rock the seats to ensure that thecatch is securely engaged.

SUN BLINDS
Side windows
Pull the sun blind up and attach it tothe hooks.
Panoramic roof
The roof blind is in two sections. Pullthe handle from the front or rear ofthe panoramic roof and fully extendthe required section.
To open the blind, slightly pull thehandle against the springmechanism, and push up to releasefrom the hooks.
Note:Each blind section will onlyextend to the middle of thepanoramic roof.

DIMMER
CIGAR LIGHTER
WARNING
Never hold the lighter in as thiswill result in damage. Alwaysremove the lighter as a precautionwhen children are left alone in thevehicle.
To use the lighter, press it in and waituntil it pops out automatically. Thelighter will also operate when theignition is switched off.
Other appliances can be connectedto the cigar lighter power point.
When connecting appliances, useonly specified connectors from theFord Accessory range or connectorsfor use with SAE standard sockets.
AUXILIARY POWER
SOCKETS
CAUTION
If you use the socket when theengine is not running, the batterymay discharge.
Note:You can use the socket topower 12 volt appliances that have amaximum current rating of 10Amperes. Use only Ford accessoryconnectors or connectors specifiedfor use with SAE standard sockets.
Auxiliary power sockets are locatedin the centre console and in theluggage compartment.
Power inverter
CAUTIONS
If you use the socket when theengine is not running, the batterymay discharge.
If the LED flashes continuously,re-insert the plug or switch theignition off and then on again.
It will switch off if the temperatureis above 85°C (185°F). The LEDwill flash once. When it has cooleddown it will switch back onautomatically.
