3. Release both buttons at the same time.
4. Test the feature while outside of the vehicle, by
pressing the LOCK/UNLOCK button on the transmitter.
NOTE:Pressing the LOCK button on the transmitter
while you are inside the vehicle will activate the Security
Alarm. Opening a door with the Security Alarm activated
will cause the alarm to sound. Press the UNLOCK button
to deactivate the Security Alarm.
5. If the desired programming was not achieved or to
reactivate this feature, repeat the above steps.
To lock the doors:
Press and release the LOCK button on the key fob to lock
all doors. If the ignition is OFF, when the doors are
locked, the parking lights will flash on once and the horn
will chirp once.
Horn Chirp Programming
The horn chirp feature will be shipped from the assembly
plants activated. If desired this feature can be disabled by
using the following procedure:
1. Press and hold the LOCK button on the transmitter.
2. After holding the LOCK button for four seconds, also
press the PANIC button within 6 seconds. A single chime
will sound to indicate that this feature has changed.
3. Release both buttons at the same time.
4. To reactivate this feature, repeat the above steps.
5. Test the horn chirp feature while outside of the ve-
hicle, by pressing the LOCK button on the transmitter
with the ignition in the OFF position and the key
removed.
NOTE:Pressing the LOCK button on the transmitter,
while you are inside the vehicle, will activate the Security

Alarm. Opening a door with the Security Alarm activated
will cause the alarm to sound. Press the UNLOCK button
to deactivate the Security Alarm.

Flash Lamps with Lock Programming
1. Press and hold the UNLOCK button on the transmit-
ter.
2. After holding the UNLOCK button for four seconds,

3. Release both buttons at the same time.4. Test the flash lamps with LOCK feature while outside
of the vehicle, by pressing the LOCK button on the
transmitter with the ignition in the OFF position, and the
key removed.

Programming Additional Transmitters
Vehicles will be shipped from the assembly plants with
two transmitters programmed only for that vehicle. A
total of eight transmitters can be programmed for your
vehicle. Additional transmitters can be programmed to
your vehicle through the use of a currently programmed
fob.
NOTE:When entering program mode using that fob, all
other programmed transmitters will be erased and you
will have to reprogram them for your vehicle.
Use the following procedure to program additional key
fobs if the vehicle is not equipped with Sentry Key:
1. Enter your vehicle and close all doors.
2. Fasten your seat belt (Fastening the seatbelt will cancel
any chiming that may confuse you during this program-
ming procedure).
3. Place the key into the ignition.4. Turn the ignition to the ON position (Do not start the
engine).
5. Press and hold the UNLOCK button on the key fob.
6. After holding the UNLOCK button for four seconds,
also press the PANIC button within 6 seconds.
7. When a single chime is heard release both buttons. The
chime is an indication that you have successfully entered
program mode. All transmitters that are to be pro-
grammed must be done so within 60 seconds of when the
chime was heard.
8. Using the fob to be programmed, press and hold both
the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons, simultaneously for 2
seconds and then release.
9. Press and release the UNLOCK button a single chime
will be heard.

10. Repeat steps 8 and 9 to program up to six additional
transmitters.
11. Turn the ignition to the OFF position.
12. Your vehicle will remain in program mode up to 60
seconds from when the original chime was heard. After
60 seconds, all programmed transmitters function nor-
mally.
NOTE:If you do not have a programmed transmitter,
contact your dealer for details.
Battery Replacement
The recommended replacement battery is CR2032.

1. If the key fob is equipped with a screw, remove the
screw. With the transmitter buttons facing down, use aflat blade to pry the two halves of the transmitter apart.
Make sure not to damage the elastomer seal during
removal.
2. Remove and replace the battery. When replacing the
battery, match the + sign on battery to the + sign on the
inside of the battery clip, located on back cover. Avoid

vehicle, and enables you to mute the system's micro-
phone for private conversation.
The UConnecttphone book enables you to store up to 32
names and four numbers per name. Each language has a
separate 32-name phone book accessible only in that
language. This system is driven through your
BluetoothŸ Hands-Free profile cellular phone.
UConnecttfeatures BluetoothŸ technology - the global
standard that enables different electronic devices to con-
nect to each other without wires or a docking station, so
UConnecttworks no matter where you stow your cellu-
lar phone (be it your purse, pocket, or briefcase), as long
as your phone is turned on and has been paired to the
vehicle's UConnecttsystem. The UConnecttsystem
allows up to seven cellular phones to be linked to system.Only one linked (or paired) cellular phone can be used
with the system at a time. The system is available in
English, Spanish, or French languages (as equipped).
Phone Button
The rearview mirror contains the microphone
for the system (depending on the type of
mirror and radio equipped), and either the
radio or the mirror has the two control buttons
(Phone Button and Voice Recognition Button) that will
enable you to access the system.
Voice Recognition Button
Actual button location may vary with radio.
The individual buttons are described in the
ªOperationº section.
The UConnecttsystem can be used with any Hands-Free
Profile certified BluetoothŸ cellular phone. See
UConnecttwebsite for supported phones. If your cellular

NOTE:The Electronic Speed Control System has been
designed to shut down if multiple speed control switch
buttons (i.e. SET and CANCEL) are operated simulta-
neously in order to ensure proper operation. The system
can be reactivated by pushing the speed control switch
ON/OFF button and re-establishing the desired vehicle
SET speed.
To Activate
Push the ON/OFF button to the ON position. In the
instrument cluster, the word ªCRUISEº illuminates when
the system is on.
To Set At A Desired Speed
When the vehicle has reached the desired speed, press
and release the SET button. Release the accelerator and
the vehicle will operate at the selected speed.
To Deactivate
A soft tap on the brake pedal, normal braking, or pressing
the CANCEL button will deactivate speed control with-
out erasing the memory. Pushing the ON/OFF button to
the OFF position or turning off the ignition erases the
memory.

training the transceiver. Exhaust gas can cause seri-
ous injury or death.
Programming HomeLinkT
Before You Begin
The Compass Mini-Trip Computer (CMTC) illuminates
the HomeLinktsymbol (a house with an arrow inside it)
along with 1, 2 or 3 indicators under it when a
HomeLinktbutton is pressed.
Pay attention to the indicator(s), as they will flash at
different rates, or remain solid during training.
If you have not trained any of the HomeLinktbuttons,
erase all channels before you begin training.

To do this, press and hold the two outside buttons for 20
seconds. Release the buttons when the indicators start to
flash.
It is recommended that anew batterybe placed in the
hand-held transmitter of the device being programmed
to HomeLinktfor more efficient training and accurate
transmission of the radio-frequency signal.
Your vehicle should be parked outside of the garage
while training.
1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON/RUN position.
2. Place the hand-held transmitter 1±3 inches (3±8 cm)
from the HomeLinktbuttons while keeping the
HomeLinktdisplay in view.
For optimal training, point the battery end of the hand-
held transmitter away from the HomeLinkt.3. Simultaneously press and hold both the chosen
HomeLinktbutton and the hand-held transmitter button
until the indicator(s) change from a slow to a rapid flash
rate.
Then release both the HomeLinktand hand-held trans-
mitter buttons.
It may take up to 30 seconds, or longer in rare cases. The
garage door may open & close while you train.
If the signal is too weak to train, replace the battery in the
original hand-held transmitter.
NOTE:Some gate operators and garage door openers
may require you to replace Step #3 with procedures
noted in the ªGate Operator/Canadian Programmingº
section.
