Battery charge warning
light
This comes on each time the
ignition is switched on until
the engine is started.

Driver’s seat belt not
fastened warning light *
When the ignition is switched
o n , t h e w a r n i n g l i g h t fl a s h e s u n t i l t h e
driver fastens his seat belt.
Above a speed of approximately
10 mph (15 km/h), the warning light
fl a s h e s a c c o m p a n i e d b y a n a u d i b l e
signal until the driver fastens his seat
belt.
T h e d r i v e r m u s t e n s u r e t h a t a l l p a s -
sengers have fastened their seat belt
correctly.
Air bags warning light
T h i s c o m e s o n f o r a f e w s e c -
onds each time the ignition is
switched on.
Passenger air bag disarmed
If the passenger air bag is disarmed,
the warning light remains on. SensoDrive gearbox
warning light
Fixed lighting of this warning
l i g h t , w i t h t h e e n g i n e r u n n i n g , i n d i -
cates a malfunction of the SensoDrive
gearbox.
Emission control
system warning light
This comes on each time the
ignition is switched on until
the engine is started.
F i x e d l i g h t i n g , w i t h t h e e n g i n e r u n -
ning, indicates an emission control
system fault.
Consult a CITROËN dealer. Diesel engine pre-heat
warning light
Wait until the warning light is
switched off before starting.
I f t h e t e m p e r a t u r e i s s u f fi c i e n t , t h e
w a r n i n g l i g h t c o m e s o n b r i e fl y , y o u
can start without waiting.
Water in diesel filter
warning light **
This comes on for a few
seconds each time the ignition is
switched on.
F i x e d l i g h t i n g , w i t h t h e e n g i n e r u n -
ning, indicates a risk of damage to
the engine.

Dynamic stability
control system
(ASR/ESP) activation
warning light
This comes on for a few seconds each
time the ignition is switched on.
W i t h t h e e n g i n e r u n n i n g a n d t h e v e h i -
cle moving, it comes on if the system
is activated. Dynamic stability
control system (ASR/
ESP) fault warning light
This comes on for a few seconds each
time the ignition is switched on.
If this warning light comes on, with
the engine running, this indicates a
fault in the system.

If this warning light comes on,
with the engine running, this
indicates a malfunction of the
"SensoDrive" gearbox. Fuel gauge
This indicates the quantity of fuel
available:
-
1/1 and six blocks, the fuel tank
is full.
- R a n d o n e b l o c k fl a s h i n g , t h e
fuel tank is on the reserve.
Low fuel level
When the minimum level in the fuel
t a n k i s r e a c h e d , t h e l a s t b l o c k fl a s h e s
accompanied by an audible signal.
I n c e r t a i n d r i v i n g c o n d i t i o n s a n d d e p e n d -
ing on the engine, the distance which
can be travelled with the fuel remaining
may be less than 30 miles (50 km).
You have approximately 5 litres remaining.
W h e n t h e f r e q u e n c y o f t h e fl a s h i n g i n c r e a s e s ,
you have approximately 3 litres remaining .
At least 5 litres must be added
after running out of fuel. Running out of diesel fuel
After running out of fuel, you
can travel a short distance
a f t e r 1 0 p u m p r e p r i m i n g o p -
erations (see corresponding
section).
A f t e r fi l l i n g t h e f u e l t a n k ( m i n i m u m
5 litres), operate the repriming pump
at least 10 times (see corresponding
section).

HEATING
1. Temperature adjustment
Turn the control from blue (cold) to
red (hot) to adjust the temperature to
suit your requirements.

When the ignition is switched on,
t u r n t h e c o n t r o l t o o b t a i n a fl o w o f
a i r w h i c h i s s u f fi c i e n t t o e n s u r e y o u r
comfort.
To maintain a certain level of comfort
in the passenger compartment, avoid
position 0 whenever possible.
In position 0 , a s l i g h t fl o w o f a i r , d u e
to the movement of the vehicle, can
still be felt. The air distribution can be ad-
justed by placing the control
in an intermediate position.
Footwells. 4. Rear screen demisting
With the engine running,
press button 4 , the indica-
tor light comes on.
The system demists the
rear screen.
It is switched off by pressing control 4 .

and footwells. Footwells, diffusion grille
and side vents.

3. Air distribution adjustment Windscreen and side win-
dows. Switch the system off as
soon as you consider this

The recirculation of interior air
(control 4 to the left) enables
you to isolate the passenger
compartment from exterior

justed by placing the control

As soon as possible, move control
4 to the right to the "Intake of exte-
rior air" position to avoid the risks of
deterioration of the air quality and
misting of the windscreen and side
windows. The intake of exterior air (con-
trol
4 to the right) enables you
to prevent and eliminate mist-
ing of the windscreen and
side windows. With the engine running,
press button
6 , the indica-
tor light comes on.
The system demists the
rear screen.
It is switched off by pressing control 6 .
In a humid climate, use of the
air recirculation may cause
misting of the windows. Switch the system off as
soon as you consider this
necessary as a lower con-
sumption of current reduces
fuel consumption.
De-icing and demisting
To quickly de-ice or demist the wind-
screen and side windows:
- set the air distribution to "Wind- screen and side windows",
- place the temperature control 2
a n d t h e a i r fl o w c o n t r o l 3 at maxi-
mum,
- close the side vents,
- place the air intake control 4 in
the "Air intake" position,
- switch on the air conditioning by pressing button 1 .

- fold the seat back rearwards and secure it on the mounting B .
T a k e c a r e n o t t o t r a p t h e s e a t b e l t s ,
i n p a r t i c u l a r b e t w e e n t h e s e a t b a c k
and the mounting B.
- check that the back of the bench seat is secured correctly.
REAR HEAD RESTRAINTS *
The rear head restraints can be re-
moved and have two positions:
- high, position for use.
- low, storage position.
To raise the head restraint, pull it up-
wards.
To lower it, press lug A then the head
restraint.
To remove it:
- tilt the seat back slightly,
- move the head restraint to the high position,
- press lug A pulling the head re-
straint upwards at the same
time.
T o r e fi t i t :
- tilt the seat back slightly,
- engage the rods of the head restraint in the openings.
To reach the low position, press lug A .
F o l d i n g t h e b a c k o f t h e b e n c h
seat:
The seat back is folded from the rear
of the vehicle, with the boot open:
- check that the seat belt is posi-
tioned correctly on the side of the
seat back to avoid damaging it,
- place the head restraints in the low position (see "rear head re-
straints"),
- while folding the seat back, pull the strap(s) A , located behind the
seat back.

KEYS/REMOTE CONTROL
Remote control
This carries out the vehicle locking -
unlocking and locating functions at a
distance.
Keys
The keys allow you to switch on the
ignition and operate the locks on
the front doors, the boot, the fuel
tank cap, the steering lock and the
passenger air bag disarming switch. Locking

A to lock the vehicle

by brief lighting of the direction
indicators.
Central locking and unlocking
From the driver’s door, the keys allow
you to lock and unlock the doors and
boot simultaneously. Unlocking

B to unlock the vehicle.

To spot your vehicle, if you have
locked it, in a car park:
press button A , the direction
i n d i c a t o r s c o m e o n b r i e fl y .
Note: after locking, if you
notice that a door is not
closed properly, close it then
lock the vehicle again.
The set of keys or remote
controls, supplied with your
vehicle, enable you to obtain
a maximum of three new
keys.
If all of the keys in your possession
are lost, a major operation will have
to be carried out on your vehicle.

ACCESS ELECTRIC WINDOWS
The driver and front passenger each
have an electric window.
After the ignition has been switched
on, press or pull control 1 . The
window stops when you release the
control.
Always remove the key from
the ignition when leaving
the vehicle, even for a short
time.
The driver must ensure that the front
passenger uses his electric window
correctly.
Be aware of children when operating
the windows.
DOORS Driver’s door open
If the driver’s door is open,
the courtesy light remains
on if the button is in this
position.
Locking/unlocking a door
from the inside
Normal locking/unlocking: the doors
lock/unlock independently.
To lock/unlock a door, press/pull
button A .
Note: operating the handle does
not unlock the door, pull button A to
unlock. Simultaneous central locking/
unlocking of the doors and boot.
To lock/unlock the vehicle, press/pull
button
A on the driver’s door.
For the other doors, carry out the
same operation as for normal locking/
unlocking.
