1.DEF: Abnormal voltage
NOTESNotes:
When this fault appears, the assistance gradually cut outs within 5 minutes.
Next time the ignition is switched on, this fault causes the absence of steering
assistance.
Check the power supply fuse for the EPAS:
–AP44 after ignition fuse (5A) in the Protection and Switching Unit.
Check the tightness and the condition of the battery terminals.
Repair if necessary.
Disconnect the 8-track connector of the EPAS computer.
Check the condition and conformity of the connector and its clips.
Check the conformity of the 12 V after ignition feed, with the ignition on and engine running (it must be equal
to the battery voltage).
In the event of a fault, check the insulation, continuity and the absence of interference resistance on the
following connection:
8-track connector track 8 + 12 V after ignition
Repair if necessary.
If the connections are OK but the EPAS computer electrical supply is not correct, run fault finding on the charge
circuit.
AFTER REPAIRClear the stored faults.
Check that the EPAS is working.
Deal with any other faults.

NOTESConditions for applying the fault finding procedure to stored faults:
The fault is declared present after having started the engine and turned the steering
wheel from lock to lock.
Notes:
This fault causes a loss of assistance or an absence of steering assistance and also
illuminates the STOP warning light + Message, or assistance is limited to 30% and
the SERVICE indicator light + Message come on.
–The computer records an occurrence context (computer operating values frozen
when fault occurs). To view this information, click on the fault description (camera
symbol). Within these values, parameter PR143 Internal fault code gives the fault
finding procedure to apply.
Procedure to apply for internal fault codes 3, 33, 34, 35, 50, 51, 112, 113, 128, 145 of PR143.
Contact Techline.
Procedure to apply for internal fault codes 4, 5, 100, 114, 115, 129, 130 and 131 of PR143.
Check the condition of the wiring inside the EPAS and make sure that the 3 white EPAS connectors are correctly
locked.
If the fault is still present, contact the Techline.
AFTER REPAIRClear the stored faults.
Check that the EPAS is working.
Deal with any other faults.

3.DEF: Values outside limits
NOTESConditions for applying the fault finding procedure to stored faults:
The fault is declared present after having started the engine and turned the steering
wheel from lock to lock.
Notes:
This fault causes an absence of steering wheel return (no warning light or message).
–The computer records an occurrence context (computer operating values frozen
when fault occurs). To view this information, click on the fault description (camera
symbol). Within these values, parameter PR143 Internal fault code gives the fault
finding procedure to apply.
Procedure to apply for internal fault codes 195 and 196 of PR143.
Position the vehicle wheels in the straight line driving position (steering centre point).
Refer to parameters PR121 Steering wheel angle and PR007 Steering wheel angle offset compensation.
Both parameters must be between - 10˚ < X < 10˚.
Turn the steering wheel to full right lock then to full left lock, and check that the parameter varies within the
tolerances given in the "Conformity check".
Refer to status ET020 Steering wheel angle sensor programming, which must be STATUS 4.
If parameters PR121, PR007 and status ET020 are not correct:
Place the vehicle on a front axle adjusting bench.
Position the vehicle wheels in the straight line driving position (steering centre point).
Program the steering wheel angle via command VP004 Steering wheel angle sensor programming (see
Configuration and programming, section A).
Remove the fault, start the engine and check that the EPAS functions correctly by turning the steering wheel from
lock to lock (parking manoeuvres).
If the fault is still present, contact the Techline.
AFTER REPAIRClear the stored faults.
Check that the EPAS is working.
Deal with any other faults.

DEF: Computer calibration not carried out
NOTESPriority in the event of a number of faults:
Deal with fault DF020 Computer supply voltage first, if it is present or stored.
Notes:
This fault is present for as long as the computer assistance strategy is not configured.
It is automatically cleared after configuration.
This fault causes:
Degraded assistance (no message or warning light).
Check that the computer's configuration correctly corresponds to the vehicle type, engine type, gearbox and tyres
fitted on the vehicle.
Reconfigure the computer if necessary (see Configuration and programming).
If the fault is still present, contact the Techline.
AFTER REPAIRClear the stored faults.
Check that the EPAS is working.
Deal with any other faults.
