Press the radio's ON button.
Is the display working?
(backlighting)
Yes
Press the radio's ON button.
Is the volume 0 or mute?
Yes
Disconnect the mute control wire from the
hands-free kit (connection 107 D) (see
Wiring diagrams Technical Note, vehicle,
code 692)
No Check the radio fuse
(see Wiring diagrams
Technical Note,
vehicle, code 260).
No
Is the fuse sound?
Yes
Check the continuity of
connections BCP3 and
MA0, (see Wiring
diagrams Technical
Note, vehicle, code 261)
Yes
No
Is the wiring
harness sound?
Yes
Replace the radio.
NoCheck and test whether one of the speaker
tracks has short circuited or earthed from
the disconnected radio connector using
a multimeter, connections 34A to 34H
(see Wiring Diagrams Technical Note,
vehicle, code 189 to 192 and 365 to 366)
Replace the
fuse.
Does the radio
switch on?
Fault solved
Replace the wiring or
repair it if the repair
procedure exists.
