Keepbeltbucklesfreeofanyobstructionthatmaypreventasecurelocking.
Beltsthathavebeensubjectedtoexcessivestretchforcesinanaccidentmustbeinspect-edorreplacedtoensuretheircontinuedeffec-tivenessinrestrainingyou.Thesameappliestobelttensionersystemswhichhavebeentriggered.Inaddition,theanchorpointsofthebeltsshouldbechecked.
Ifsafetybeltsdonotworkproperly,seeyourauthorizedPorschedealerimmediately.
Ifthebeltsshowdamagetowebbing,bind-ings,bucklesorretractors,theyshouldbereplacedtoensuresafeoperation.

RolloverProtectionSystem
FunctionoftheRolloverProtection
System
TheRolloverProtectionSystemontheCabrioletconsistsoftwosupplementalsafetybarsthattogetherwiththefrontwindshieldframehelptocreateoccupantsurvivalspaceincaseofrollover.Becauseoftheextremeandunpredictableforceswhichcanbeencounteredinarollover,itisnotpossibletoguaranteethatoccupantswillbeprotectedfromallcontactwithexteriorobjectsortheground.However,theRolloverProtectionSystemisdesignedtomaintaintheoccupantsurvivalspace.
Theprotectivedevicesarelocatedbehindeachrearseatandrapidlydeploywithinafractionofasecond.TheRolloverProtectionSystemisactivatedautomaticallyintheeventofanaccidentorextremedrivingsituation.Ifnecessary,theseat-belttensionerswillbeactivated.

Withthefour-wheeldrive,theenginepowerisvariablydistributedtothefrontandrearwheels.Powerdistributionandwheelspeedcompensationbetweenthefrontandrearaxlesisrealisedwithaviscousmultiple-discclutch.
Distributionoftheenginepowerisdependentuponthewheelspeeddifferencebetweenthetwoaxles.Theviscousmultiple-discclutchalwaysdeliverssufficientdrivepowertothefrontwheels(approx.5%to40%)toensureoptimumtractionevenonapoorroadsurface.
IncombinationwiththePorscheStabilityManagement(PSM),four-wheeldriveimproveshandlingandincreasesdrivingstability.

Brakebooster
Thebrakeboosterassistsbrakingonlywhentheengineisrunning.
Whenthecarismovingwhiletheengineisnotrunning,orifthebrakeboosterisdefective,morepressureonthebrakepedalisrequiredtobringthecartoastop.Ifthishappens,ABSandPSMwillalsonotoperate.
Moistureorroadsaltonbrakesaffectsbraking.Whenthevehicleisdrivenonsaltedroadsforextendedperiods,thebrakesshouldbewasheddownthoroughlyaboutevery2weeks.Anauto-maticcarwashfacilitycannotdothisjobproperly.Brakeswilldryafterafewcautiousbrakeapplica-tions.
